  1. Better coaching? MAYBE? More coaching I would agree more with. It is easy to blame the coach, especially when you lose. This group of girls usually play against each other in big county rivalry situations. I think the coach is making a valiant effort to get a group of girls and parents to work together when they are used to playing and working against against one another. That is harder than you might imagine. This team did pretty well to only have about 5 or 6 practices and play in one tournament with average teams.

They do need a team tune up to be successful.

    JetFan,

I would like to contact Ivy Gardner. Would you have a phone number for her?

You can email it to me at lorimitchell@frontiernet.net....Thanks

  2. East

    1. Tennessee Xtreme - The 10U State Runner-Ups should come out as the #1 seed from this very tough Sub-State bracket.

    2. Tennessee Storm - Though they have already secured a bid to Nationals, I have a feeling these girls will want a trip to State as well.

This is possibly the toughest Sub-State with other high quality teams such as the Tennessee Raiders and Tennessee Lady Trotters, who will both look to take away that #2 seed from Tennessee Storm.

    South Middle

    1. Tennessee Express - This very strong group of fundamentally sound young ladies should have little to no trouble getting back to the State Tournament as the #1 seed out of the South.

    2. Tennessee Stars/Tennessee Top Guns - One of these two should fill out the #2 seed from the South unless I am overlooking somebody.

    West

    1. FCA Lady Ealges - The defending 10U State Champions will look to keep their title starting with this weekend's West Sub-State.

    2. Memphis Elite Lady Tigers - The core of this group comes form the West Tennessee Lady Tigers team who made it to state last year. Look for them to get back there again, though the other Memphis Lady Elite team could give them a decent game.

    North Middle

    1. Tennessee Team Pride - The Team Pride will look to improve on their performance at the State Tournament last year by securing yet another #1 seed from the North.

    2. ? - I am unsure as to who will be the #2 seed. I would need to see a bracket to give my best prediction on this spot.

    North Middle:

Team Pride was the #2 seed from last years North sub-state.

Cookeville Ladies were the #1 seed.

  3. my child plays for the tennessee express and I also keep a set of books for each game. In the charles davis game, our team had 9 team fouls. in our first game with shelbyville sports shop who could have received home cooking , but did not the tn express had 10 team fouls, In our 2nd game vs. memphis elite tn express had 7 team fouls. in our third game against the storm who we lost to we had 11 team fouls and in our 4th game against the southern statrz we had 5 team fouls in our ffifth game vs. louisville jauguars we had 7 team fouls and in the charles davis game # 6 we had 9 team fouls and in our last game against the storm who we lost to for a 2ns time we had 9 team fouls. there were no games where we did not have any fouls. Our starting 5 girls have been playing together for 4 years and try very hard not to foul, they have not been taught to play wild basketball, but have been taught to play controlled basketball and have been taught to play their positions very well to stay out of foul trouble. My daughter had 4 fouls in one of the games, so please stop undermining their success as a team by saying they receive special treatment. As far as the Charles Davis team goes we have beat them at least 3 times (twicce last year & once this year) I guess they can't get past that and want to blame some one for their loss instead of saying the express played a better game than they did and won. I have nothing personal against any team or coach, but when we lose games such as the 2 we lost to the storm we do not go and cry foul play we were cheated out of a win, the simple truth is we lost they had a beter game and won fair & square. The storm is a great team and has a great coach, I do not feel that any team last weekend in 11U received home cooking or special treatment. I think the teams that played well came out on top.

I am very dissapointed that adults would get on this site and attempt to undermine a childs basketball team in this way. There was alot of rough play in this the 11u division and yes the charles davis team in my opinion plays uncontrolled basketball which leads to fouls, but I as a parent would never personally attack someones team by saying the things that have been said on this site. I hope we can all be adults from now on. !!!!!!

Can you tell me what the margin was for the game(s) you played against CDF- Fever? Thank you!

  4. We are interested in scheduling games for girls and boys 5th and 6th grade basketball. If you would be interested in scheduling games please email me at

lorimitchell@frontiernet.net or call me at 931-544-1045.

(Each grade has their own team. So there are 4 teams all together. You would not have to schedule all 4 teams ....you can pick which team you are interested in playing.)

  5. The Cookeville Ladies 10U will also be adding 2 -3 players for the Nationals.  The Cookeville Ladies came in 4th in the State.  Your daughter will need to be already registered with AAU and have participated in one of the 10U Sub-States in order to be considered.  We would like to invite all quality players that meet these qualifications to come to one of our practices and meet the coaches and the players.  This would also allow her the opportunity to practice with the girls.  If you feel your daughter is ready for this level of competition and has heart for the game we would be interested in having her attend practice.  For practice times and more information please contact Lori Mitchell at 931-544-1045 or lorimitchell@froniternet.net.

TN 10U will be well represented this year at the Nationals.  Good luck to all!!!

  8. If these are the same tourneys ran by Kris Hooper I would highly recommend them. I feel they are some of the most organized tourneys that I have entered our team in. As far as the competition level....I would have desired more competition but this was before sub-state and a lot of the lesser skilled teams will have droped out by now. I would say diffently give him a try.
