  1. Congrats to Coach Tigert and The Marshall Co. basketball TEAM! If all the CW fans know so much about their team then they also know that Marshall and Creekwood have scrimmaged the last 2 years before the season started with Marshall Co. winning both of those games, both @ Creekwood. So last nights game shouldnt have been any suprise. I believe both teams are well coached and had good seasons. Its a shame to see your team lose to end the season but thats just part of the game. We can get on here and make excuses but it is what it is, one loss and your done. Did Kedron guard all 5 players on the floor @ once last night? Of course not his teammates guarded the other 4. It takes a team to win the complete game on both sides of the floor. And the Marshall Co TEAM did just that. Who wouldnt want to have a play maker in Johnson? His teammates know that he is un-selfish but also understand there are times that he can score many times at will. He can knock down the outside shot with consistancy as he showed last night. Many nights there is no need for that when he can get the higher percentage shot by blowing by the opponent for the easy layup. My hats off the the CW players for a good season. Sorry that so many people make a fun game ugly with childish comments and being sore losers.

Good luck to the Marshall Co TEAM in the Championship game vs. a talented group in Spring Hill.

BigA-Don't think last nights game has anything to do with preseason scrimmages. I know for a fact this year that both teams were without key players in the scrimmage and kept things very basic. Last night has to do with the fact that MC outplayed us.

  2. LA played very well but I wouldnt read much into the Creek Wood game. The seniors only played about a quarter as coach was trying to find some depth. Not taking anything away from them. They have definitely picked up where they left off last year. Northeast was probably best team there.

  3. The drop step and lob was there all night. Bolivar fronted Hyndman and I never understood why Creekwood's guards wouldn't at least try a lob down low every now and then.

Good luck to Bolivar the rest of the way. They have a nice team.

That why I said I wish we had a few 3rd quarter possessions back. If we couldve gotten it in to Aaron or Vinny or knocked down an open jumper it would have made it different in the 4th(not that we wouldve won but we couldve kept it closer longer). Coach was trying to get us to get it inside from up top all night but Bolivar did a good job keeping us from it. Its not as easy as it looks when your getting D'd up by Bolivars guards and they are bringing help to the paint.

  4. Actually you are wrong Bolivar did have someone to stop Hyndman, he only scored 11 points in the game almost all of them in the first half against our football playing center. Coach put Chris Reaves on him in the second half and Reaves shut him down by either preventing him from getting the ball or bothering his shot.

Actually, btown, Hyndman had 6 in the first half and 5 in the 2nd half so I would call that a wash and Reaves only scored 13. The game wasn't at a pace where someone was gonna have 25. You guys have a great team but we feel like if we would have about 2 or 3 possessions back in the 3rd quarter that we wouldnt have had to come out try to chase your guards around so early and couldve kept it under 10 longer. We wish you guys the best and hope you make a deep run at state so we can say we got beat by one of the best teams.

  5. "there is a difference in physical play and dirty play. dirty plays are undercutting a person shooting a layup or dunk, shoving people after the whistle or with the intent to hurt some one. I have not seen this out of any teams this year with the exception of CW and SC. SC seems to play this way the more they get behind and CW does it to get you off your game hoping that you retaliate. "

No offense, but what game of ours have you seen us play like that?

  6. Where is the district tournament and dates? One website says they play at Cheatham and another at Creekwood. Do the guys play Mon-Wed-Fri and the girls Tues-Thurs-Sat?

Boys play Mon, Thur, Mon. Girls play Tue, Fri, Tue. Mon and Tue are satellite games. Thur, Fri, and the following Mon and Tue are at Creek Wood.

  7. Ok got to stand up a little for my Hawks. Yes, JP was trying to keep Trey from throwing one down but it was in no way meant to be flagrant. He grabbed at the ball and was not trying to hurt Trey in any way. Austin didn't mean to run over Crowe. Coach wanted us to foul and Austin couldn't stop his momentum. Not sure what happened with Aaron(32) but we have a good intense rivalry with the Indians and got to give it up to them for a great game last night. Hope to see you guys next week at the Wood.

  8. Harpeth loses by one at Dickson Saturday night. The Indians lost a 7 point lead in the last half of the 4th period with just sloppy ball handling and bad decisions for the most part. I thought Dickson County was going to cut down the nets after they stormed the court. That's pretty sad for a AAA team beating an average Harpeth squad.

Surprised you guys lost to DC. They are happy to get any win. Just wished they had the guts to play us.

  9. two games in the district tonight: MC at CW and SC at Fairview

    thoughts on the games?

I personally think CW will beat MC by 20+ after seeing MC play already. I have not seen CW play, but from all the reports on here they are the much better team.

I will go with Fairview over SC tonight. With SC still trying to get used to the new coaches and Fairview playing pretty good now makes me lean towards Fairview in this one.

No MC at CW game tonight. MC's final exams got pushed back due to snow and they are not allowed to play the night before a final. Game will be played Sat Jan 10.

  10. Open enrollment within the county. Students have a choice of Creekwood or Dickson County in much if not all of the county. Creekwood doesn't have a boundary between them and Dickson that I'm aware. I have heard, however, that they would like to maintain the student enrollment that they have. I would assume that would mean White Bluff and Charlotte kids first but I don't know that for sure.

It's open until either school gets close to having too many kids. Hopefully we will have a small 9th grade class this year and keep our numbers down.

  11. From what I've heard, Creek Wood will be moving up to AAA, which would leave a 6 team district unless TSSAA moves someone else into the district. Creek Wood and Dickson will be a great rivalry if both are in the same district. Why wasn't East Hickman added to the district instead of sending them south? They are close to everyone in the district except Stewart County, which no one is close to Dover.

According to coach, our numbers are gonna be very close. Dickson would be a great rivalry now if they had the guts to play us.

  12. Yeah but we got 2 tons that were subs last year and may end better than the group that just left and what's your idea of loaded?

Redhawk, I'm definitely not talking about tonage, but how is Xavier D. doing this summer?

X has played great. We've played a really tough schedule this summer(4 of our days were in west tn) and he has handled the pressure against everyone. After being here for a year, he finally has a feel for everything and is gonna be tough to guard. You from East Lit where he went his freshman year?

  13. The districts wouldn't change this coming year. It would be the following year. Losing Sycamore would open up a region birth for somebody, but it's not going to be this year. When the enrollment figures come out for 08-09 then the districts would be finalized. It does look like 11AA is going to stay pretty much the same.

I've never been able to figure Fairview out, but their schedule was front loaded with the weaker teams last year as I recall.

I knew it would be next year cause coach said we are gonna be close to AAA. Just don't make sense to move them out with their 2 county rivals in the district.
