  1. No excuses, just the facts. Brooke is 6'3" the tallest at sevier is what 5'9". All Brooke has to do is stick her hands up and the other girl shoots it into her elbows. The same thing happens when Brooke shoots, why try to block it when you cant even reach her wrists. How can you say the calls were towards Seymour when Sevier was in bonus without having an fouls yet? I thought the first half was called pretty close. I'd like to know what changes the refs attitudes at the half.

  2. The foul count was 6-0 in the third. Two starters fouled out shortly into the 4th. Seymour went down by as much as 6 six and then rallied back to lead. Then once again it was taken away. I usually dont blame a loss on the refs because I feel the players have to play according to what the refs allow. But what are they supposed to do when the refs take it away with 12 seconds left. Johnson had 32. The dynamic duo of Sevier might have combined for 20.

  3. Sevier County by 2. It was a terrible case of home cooking. SEvier county was in bonus before theyt ever called a foul on them in the second half. Two no calls at the end of the game was the deciding factor. The refs were too scared to step up and make the call that would alter the game. Terrible job by the refs.

  4. Cant help what the daily times says. It might have been 4 points but there was only a little more than 2 minutes left.

As for Caits heart, I agree. She leads her team with her actions. Her game, her heart and her sportmanship.

Not sure why Brooke didnt go D1. My only thought is even though the same stats were there last year, she didnt get much recognition from the media. Plus she didnt play much aau, just yboa with her school team.

To me the only reason that Brooke deserves player of the week more is Seymour got the w. Brooke was able to push her team to a win and Cait wasnt. I think the player that steps up and does what it takes to win should get it.

  5. Do you want to say East Tn Post player of the week then I would completely agree ---- definitely Brooke is the best Post player I 've seen in Tn this year. She is smooth and very accurate.

If the game was called a little tighter for both teams, I don't believe Cait would have been hurt in the third quarter when Seymour made their run.

I know that you haven't seen Cait play in every game this year and but her shooting has been very hot and those long 3s, she been doing that in every game since the Christmas Tournament. To say that she didn't try too hard top get the ball is more a credit to the Seymour coaches defense and the way the refs "let them play". Only 2 fouls were called on Seymour in the entire first half.

To say a kid chokes after leaving a pool of blood on the floor is beyond heartless. Her coach said that Cait didn't even remember some of the plays in the 4th qtr because she was out of it.

Still didn't answer - How come Brooke is not going to a D1 school?

First, Seymour did not make their run when Cait went out. They had already cut it to 2, she went out for 2 minutes. When she came abck in the game was tied. So no, I wouldnt say they made their run when she was out. Yeah, 2 fouls in the first half, but like we said the run was made in the 3rd and Cait scored 0 in the third. Also, I dont believe she was hardly that bad off. She didnt lose that much blood, and she was too aware and attentive in the game to not remember any plays. We spoke to Cait after the game, and she seemed fine. I wasnt trying to take anything away from Cait. She probably has the most natural talent and ability in TN. She is an incredible player and has an even better attitude. As for you attacking Brooke over not going D1, do you really think that Mcmahan is going to do anything D1 at what, 5'6".

  6. To say she outplayed Brooke is inacurate. The two girls play entirely different roles and positions. Cait came out hot. She couldnt miss. The girl hit one of her 3s from 5 feet behind the arc. She had 17 points in the first quarter. She never really went cold, but Seymour switched things up. They kept the ball out of her hands. She only had 12 points in the other 3 quarters. She should have fought harder to get the ball and keep her team in the lead. Also, not to sound heartless, but with 12 or so seconds she choked on her free throw to tie the game. Then Johnson sunk her two with 8 seconds to extinguish the chance of a w without overtime. Johnson was consistent thw whole game, no matter how many Heritage players were hangin on her.

  7. Sevier Co. proved that they are back after there two losses a few weeks ago.

Make it five games in a row with an utter blowout against Knox West. 77-32 was the final score as the buzzer rang. This should shut up all the haters and doubters about SC, and to all the people who say you can only peek your team once in a season. After tonight i'll have to say there on the way up. Not to mention that for the last 10 minutes we had our freshman playing. As usual our stars took hold of the game, with lots of help from the rest of the team. And we have definetly proved that teamwork wins games with this one. All we can say now is bring on Seymour at the end of the season and on to tourney time. Congrats to our girls on the win and to the West girls for the fight.

    Go Bearettes B)

Bring it on Seymour! Did you happen to notice that Seymour just beat the same team that beat SC by 20. Seymour beat SC by 10 and didn't even have a good offensive game. Seymour has proved that they can shut your "dynamic duo" down. All I can say is SC better hope that Seymour doesn't heat up on O and execute well. The bear den will crumble.
