  1. Moron...shouldn't you be trolling the softball or baseball threads by now? Especially since your bball team has been done for quite a while now.

Sorry just got back from watching my team in state tournament.Unfortunately they lost in the first round. Now to keep an eye out on all the sports complex tourneys. You never can tell when there might be some recruiting going on at them.Myself I can't wait till the school system goes with one county wide high school. Only bad thing about it is we will be in AAA but the good thing is Eliz. High School will also be.You all need a good dose of the Science Hills and Riverdales.

  2. After the game, I heard the ref that called the TF explaining to a fellow official that he hated to call it, but he had to when he noticed the swoosh. Apparently, no one brought it to his attention. IMO it's a silly rule that, if enforced, should only be done so before the start of the game. What would have happened if he didn't notice the issue until the last minute of a tie game? Regardless, I wish the refs had paid a little more attention to some of the uncalled fouls that were committed than the swoosh on the uniform...

    Boo hoo hoo

  3. Sparky I dont think Buki is a Blue Devil fan. Our fans know that Regional and Sectional refs come from outside Regions (3 or 4), and are "supposed" to be the better refs from their area.

As you know, I dont care for your coach, but I will be pulling for your team tonight. If Eliz does not come in too overconfident, they should take care of business against Alcoa. Alcoa is capable of keeping it close though.

Sparky has to blame everything on Unicoi County.I've lived around Eliz. all my life and I know how they operate. They have always been so jealous of Unicoi County in basketball and softball they had to resort to recruiting to beat them. You know that is why they have boundries is to stop the teams from recruiting. If Eliz. is going to play off of all of Carter County then they should move up in classification. But they can't because they know they can't compete with the larger schools. So they just play their one middle school and stress to the kids how much better off they will be if they keep their team together through high school. I know I've been through it with them and I've heard every excuse in the world not to break up their middle school and aau teams. So there sparky deny that.

Looked like everyone was healthy in the 15 point loss to the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones last night. Grainier now stands at 32-1. I think those Cyclones are for real. Our freshman team is 172-0 since the 6th grade have never lost a basketball game and they played teams from Science Hill Kingsport and Bristol. Grainier saw the Reazyn why, with the play of the Freshman Twins.

Hum, Isn't the Middle school in Elizabethton County wide? 172-0 Now how did they convince all those girls that live all over East Tennessee and all of Carter County to attend an Elizabethton city school. Is that what is called recruiting? Sort of sounds like it doesn't it.

  5. Close, but not all these so-called facts are true. Your statement about Cara is not completely accurate. Dugger didn't get her playing "on his AAU team" as she played for her father's AAU team throughout high school. She did move before her junior year, but what you fail to mention (and probably didn't even know) is that she was planning to attend EHS as a freshmen. Her family decided not to make the move at that time after the EHS coach told her father that he likely would not be staying at EHS. The coach left a few months later. Cara later decided to make the move to Elizabethton to get better coaching and be on a better team.

Eliz. was never competitive till they started the recruiting. From the Petrowskis right on down. Didn't they live in the Happy Valley zone? And them playing at home always had the ref advantage as over half the refs were from Carter County. And wasn't Rikki's father over them? So don't say they have never recruited because we all know that is a crock. There are at least 2 players every year that live outside Eliz. school zone.

  6. i second that WOW since Fayette County was 1-4. They get 6-4 Spartanburg for the 7th/8th place game Spartanburg lost to Dorman by 5 earlier in the season. they are 4A like Dorman not 5A as Dugger stated in paper and Dorman ranks 10th not 2nd according to max prep SC rankings. Hopefully they'll salvage the trip with a win with conf play picking up next Fri with East.

I'm sure they will take advantage of the trip to South Carolina to see if they can't pick up a recruit or two.

  7. They have split some of the regular season games, but Unicoi County has gone farther in the tournament(s) than T.A. Dugger in 2 of the last 3 years, with this year being the exception when T.A. Dugger won the whole thing. That group is absolutely loaded! Unicoi won the Sectional in 2011, even though T.A. Dugger was probably the most talented team in the area, and 2 years ago, T.A. Dugger didn't even make it to the sectional while Unicoi made it with only 2 8th grade players. Elizabethton is probably more talented, and will be for a few years, but Kerri has a way of getting the most out of her players, and they always play their best at the end of the year. Good luck Lady Devils!

Isn't T.A Dugger mostly a county team? Or will Eliz. continue to recruit them away from their home boundries?

  8. I would call myself a fan rather than an insider. All I can do is speculate. Here are some possibilities:

    1. Coach Wilson remains in place as the permanent coach.

    2. Coach Dugger returns to the girls' program and they hire another boys' coach.

    3. They promote Lucas Honeycutt from T.A. Dugger coming off their undefeated season.

    4. They hire a coach from the outside.

I would imagine that they will get to work on stabilizing both programs now. The season came to a disappointing early end for both teams. With off season conditioning, spring practice, and the summer camp season swiftly approaching they need to put everything in place and get to work.

Are all the girls from the TA Dugger team from Eliz. or will part of them be playing in their home boundries?

  9. This is a total fabrication. Anyone is free to talk basketball all they want. I'm only aware of a single user on this forum that has been "banned" as you call it. In more than one case this person (who has used multiple usernames) was shutdown by Coacht over the past several years because he/she was much more interested in criticizing coaches, bashing players, and spewing innuendo (mainly about EHS) than talking basketball...

I never read anyone of here bashing players or coaches. Only one I remember is the one that accused Elizabethton of recruiting because it seemed they all way have at 2 players from out of zone. When you play 2 or 3 players every year like that what do you expect people to think.

  10. I can't believe no one wants to talk basketball. I'm as busy as the next person working 50 hrs. a week and have twin 3 year old daughters and I've still got time to throw in a couple posts a day. C'mon, where is the support? Support your teams! :)

Hard to reply. If you don't say exactly what coach or sparky wants you get banned.

  11. Queenie, He has no idea. He was at Autozone Park because that is where he is employed. So of course he thinks Memphis is fine.

How many teams were at the softball tournaments in Cookeville, Gibbs, Greeneville and Eastman to name a few. A whole lot more than 24. TSSAA isn't going to build a complex it would take $$$$$$$ out of Carter and the rests pocket. What do they care about what people say. They know they could send softball to Iraq and there still would be 24 teams go. Because it is a state tournament.

Why does people think there was so many District, Regional and Sectional games this year. Extra gate money and if it isn't turned in to the TSSAA in a week the host schools get fined.
