1. It is what it is. If you dont like it take your kids and go somewhere else. Nothing at OS is changing. I dont know if this is parents that are jealous of the girls programs success or what? But, fact still reamins. Everyone needs to get the fact straight (because its still yet to happen). I know for a fact that coach christopher isnt going to let a bunch of childish people but a damper on her season. Its basketball season now anyways!

I couldn't help but notice that you didn't SIGN your post, as long as your going to hide behind a screen name (like a coward) and make accusations about others, your opinion doesn't add up to a bowl of dung!

I'm done with you and this topic, if you want to continue just look me up!

    KF

Yes there is a lot of that going on. The person that started this on another page asked the question Why did this happen and then one or two pages later tells the whole story on his I think 9th post.

  2. Catback, not one time was i implying that roberts had a problem with your kid, or did i for that fact. It was a general statement on why people didnt like him... Sorry you took it all toward you. it wasnt meant that way. And all yall keep sayin it was the girls this an that. Well fact of the matter is that a Single A school has to be 1000 seats to host ANY tournament games... The past admin, fire marshal, and city mayor all signed off on it. An the appeal OS turned in was about the previous admistration and ad tryin to get the whole decission overturned. IF you knew how the process worked you would understand that you cant really hold this over the current coaches, ad, or staff.. The information was turned in years ago when OS hosted its first Region Tourn. Laura Halls freshman yr i belevie. After you turn it in, it never has to be updated. So all you who want to keep on, please do your research and know exactly what TSSAA bylaws and processes are before you post. Because i for one know them. And to catback, if you want to know who i am. Ill find you friday night when i travel to TP and speak to you about this because i for one thought that of all people that youd understand and be a little more understanding of all this... 8

I would think the count was turned in in the 90's when the boys hosted their Sub-State game.

  3. She had a great season but another player that could have been named that wasn't was T.T.Flowers ,the freshman from Lake Co..T.T. had 21 points in only 1 game against Oliver Springs..Not saying she had a better season than Kayla or even a better tournament but a case could be made of both Kayla and T.T. making the team !Sometimes it's not all about making points..In Kayla's case..probably drawing the other teams best defender,,double teams..helps her team mates get a better shot and also handles the ball against the press..In T.T.'s case..same thing..sometimes she presses and tries too hard but still had over half her teams points and handled the ball for Lake Co every possession in getting the ball down the floor and hustles every play..And plays very good defense ! At least in T.T.'s case, she'll have 3 more years and hopefully Lake Co will be back..

I think you need to win at least win one game to be on the All- Tour. team.

Also Kayla shot 6 times against Lake Co.

  4. AHH, wouldn't we all like to know that info! The TSSAA Secret Society will not let that happen! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

    Goose I'm with you!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Kayla's 4 years at OS produced a record of 104-31, not too shabby.

Not the best at OS but very good!

  5. My biggest gripe is still that the award is based on the regular season. I say use the regular season to get your finalists and then have the committee meet when they do the drawing for seeds to determine the winner.

Last year, Leonard and Christopher were perfect examples of players that stepped up their game in the postseason and carried them to the state tournament and neither won.

This year Kayla Christopher led her team back from a 10-point deficit and scored 38 points in leading her team to the district championship. She then hit the game-winning three-pointer in overtime in the region championship game. In the sectional, she hit a game-tying three-pointer in overtime and then hit a game-winning jumper with 4.9 seconds left in the third overtime to put the Lady 'Cats in the state tournament. To me this is definitely something that should be considered when determining the best player in the state, but it's not even considered because the award is decided at the end of the regular season.

It doesn't matter Goose. West Tenn voters will vote for West Tenn kids and Middle Tenn voters will vote for Middle Tenn kids and East Tenn voters will vote for East Tenn kids. Thats how It goes.

  6. Good post Goose and i agree with you on alot of it. I too think the post season should be taken into account and had that happened Laken would probably have been last years winner as she played BIG in helping her team win the state championship. Now having said that if Kayla would have won it this year she too would have been equally as deserving! I've seen her play several times and she is a great player and a real pleasure to watch. I never seen the young lady from McEwen play but i'm sure she was equally as deserving. There was no "wrong" pick here IMO it just came down to who the voters voted for.

    And who are they?

  7. GO LADY BOBCATS... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Will you be at the game Friday?

  8. Back to the game and this is a tough match-up for OS. Clarkrange is so big and the Lady 'Cats are going to have to keep them off the offensive boards. If they don't box out and the rebounds turn into 50-50 balls then Clarkrange will get most of these. And as quick as Heady was at getting position yesterday it is a must to find her quick and get a body into her.

Offensively, OS is going to have to shoot a high percentage because I don't think they'll get a lot of second chance opportunities against the bigger Lady Buffaloes. I also think they'll need to push the pace and try to beat Clarkrange down the floor. This could help get more second chance points and hopefully easier baskets.

    Well said Goose!!

  9. I agree. Those are all fair points (although Wartburg was at the game at least 2 hours before tipoff and Cloudland would never lose a Regional Championship on purpose /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" ) and Cloudland is better than a few of the teams that made it to Murfeesboro. All I'm saying is I can't see why Hampton is getting no credit...

Unless you have won 12 Gold Balls you get no respect. Thats just the way It Is In Tennessee Girls Basketball.

  10. Excuse me.....forgot you were an isolated mountain man! Turd as POO! As in your a jerk! Seems to me that your kinda of racist and these black kids are undisciplined and out of control.....cant help you never see this kinda of athlete UP there in those smokeys!

Good Luck this year! Cause you wont have a chance the next three!

    Done!

    sbl

Thats funny!!! I don't think OS91 lives in the Smokeys. He does not live in East Tennessee at all

  11. We agree that the left side is the hard side of the bracket. But Hampton is right there with them and there is no way Oliver Springs could beat Hampton 10-15. Everyone that I've talked to from East Tennessee who has seen Hampton and Oliver Springs play numerous times, has came to the same conclusion. There was one guy who was telling me all year that Hampton was the better team, but I didn't believe him until the night of the sub-state games when I seen what Hampton and OS did against like opponents...

There are other factors you need to think about when you are talking about like opponents. Wartburg had a road trip and I heard they were late and Wartburg always plays very well against OS. Cloudland also had something to prove to OS they might of ever lost to Hampton just to get to play Oliver Springs who knows. Also Hampton beat Cloudland by only 5

  12. Good luck LADY BUFFALOES from Hogeye!! I think all of that talk on the single A Miss Basketball thread may motivate these girls to really put a thrashing on Oliver Springs. There was a Christopher fan ??¦KGM??¦ that said this I sat with one of the coaches scouting the CR/JC game in Gainesboro and she said there wasn't anyone on the floor capable of playing D1 and she was 100% correct. KGM??¦ you can say Kayla turned down all these big D1 schools to go to UTC but the fact is the Upper Cumberland puts out plenty of athletes that play for D1 schools. Your opinion of a D1 School is like UT/UConn/LSU I have news for you??¦.those are just the big ones. Don??™t try to make these girls from Clarkrange & Jackson Co. look bad to try to make Christopher look better.

    Get it done Lady Buffaloes.

Post From devils08 aka Clarkrange Fan

    Back at you!!!

this is to funny u think that Oliver Springs can beat Clarkrange. What makes u think that Clarkrange is going down r u insane Clarkrange's avg point margin is 10 to 20 points over each opponent the only school that played within single digits of Clarkrange was Jackson County they only won by 9 and it was at JC. I dont think their is a school in the single A tourney that can match Clarkrange this girls r undefeated for a reason and that is because they play great offense which avg. 63 points a game and their defense holds teams to an avg of 37 points a game. Like i told my friends that this year is Clarkrange's year and ur gonna ask me why im defending and cheering on Clarkrange even though our skools r rivals when it comes to state ill cheer for anyone that comes out of district 7A and PC dont feel left out im pullin for yall to but anyways GOOD LUCK TO THE LADY BUFFS OF CLARKRANGE AND LADY BOBCATS OF PICKETT COUNTY!!!!!!! From Devils08. Go show the state why we r the best district in the state and bring that gold ball back to the Upper Cumberland.

  13. I've seen girls like her try to play at Chattanooga and can't. They stay one year and then are gone. She better get a left hand and outside shot or she will sitting on the bench at that BIG TIME DI school. If you guys keep on telling her how good she is she will never get better. There is room for improvement and she can be a great player If she works on a few things.

Your IQ in general is low.....learn to spell! If you think being an athlete means undisciplined your badly mistaken! We will see in years to come. While KC plays at UT Chatt and TT plays BIG TIME DI in a few years.. Done talking to stupid people!

    PS your brain is undisciplined!

  14. Plus the Ref is out of uniform, with a white undershirt in the background. ...I don't know why I notice these things. /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />

  15. Regal is from OS as well....hahaha...I have to say that Christopher is a top-notch player, though. She is one of the best players in Tennesseee in any classification. She is a phenom and much better than Laura Hall, who came through the same program and now plays at UTC.

I can't say anything on here without you downing my daughter. Just keep It up all you do Is show your true colors!

My name Is Janie Hall and yours?

All I was doing is makeing a point. That is the post from pointguard that got all of this started.

  16. QUOTE(Greenfieldfan @ Mar 12 2007 - 01:27 PM) 826409126I was fortunate to be able to watch all of last weeks Class A ballgames. It was a great week of basketball whether you are a Gleason fan or an Oliver Springs fan. When you make it to the Championship game of the State Tournament you have had a great season, both teams.

Oliver Springs is a very good team and will be back to Murfreesboro next year. Kayla Christopher is a D1 college prospect and can take control of a game in most circumstances. It just so happened that she was playing against a hungry Gleason team and against the best basketball player in Murfreesboro last week in Kayla Hudson. Kayla had an unbelievable week but she also had an unbelievable year. Noone has ever worked harder and deserved Miss Basketball more than Kayla this year. Kayla could be playing for a SEC team next year but she chose to stay close to home and play at Union University. I am glad she did, now I can watch her 4 more years.

As for Randy Frazier, I said it before last week but I'll say it again. Randy Frazier is the best basketball coach in the state. Randy may have done one of his best coaching jobs this past season. When you lose four key players like Gleason lost last year and replace them with four freshmen and go 38-1 it is just unbelievable. Alot of people were saying that they were third or fourth in their district before the season. I have never seen a team play better defense, shoot FT's or as fundamentally sound as this Gleason team. Everyone knew their role and was happy doing what they do best. Noone cared who got the credit.

Call it whatever you want, Stallball or whatever it worked. Are you not suppose to play to your strengths? A good coach makes adjustments and does what works best for his team. Anybody can coach and win when you have the most talent every year. Randy took a bunch of small girls, the tallest 5'7" and figured out a way to beat much bigger teams. As I watched the games last week I could see the teams playing against Gleason get so frustrated because of Gleason's sticky defense and their ability to hold the ball for 3-4 minutes at a time. As an outsider looking in this was one amazing state tournament and one amazing season for those Gleason Bulldogs.

    Great post!! I agree!!

  17. QUOTE(3153 @ Mar 12 2007 - 01:18 PM) 826409114Regal...It's "DEFENSE with an "S" not a "C"

Better yet, just keep on using your favorite...the good ol' letter "D"

    We'll understand... /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

How many times did you have to read it before you figured that one out?

Anyone that knows me knows that I can't spell and that Glenson can't play Defense!!!!!!
