  1. QUOTE(zachsdad @ May 18 2007 - 10:06 PM) 826462419[/snapback]Let me add my congratulations to all the teams that won. But I also want to congratulate the girls who ended their seasons tonight. Be proud of what you accomplished. You will obviously be disappointed not to make it to state, but you have had great careers.

To the girls from Sycamore, especially Sam and Coty, you played a beautiful game. Sam, I know you well enough to know you were hurting after the 5th. I was proud of how you played through it and made no excuses. Coty, we were worried every time you stepped into the batters box. Any strikes we threw to you were mistakes, but you made us pay if it was even close.

This is one of the things that makes High School sports so wonderful. Where else can you be so excited by your team's victory and be heartbroken because the other team had to lose?

Best of luck to all the players, whether your season continues or not.

Thanks Zachsdad, if she was you no she would never admitt it. I was impressed by the sportsmanship of the young ladies from Hume Fogg, most of which I've known for

most of their lifes. I would like to wish them the best of luck in the state along with the other teams from this area(Camden, Goodpasture and Greenbrier) all of which

we played at one point or another in the season. Having watched Stone Memioral, Gibbs and Covington play this should be a great tournament with alot of teams having a

    great chance to win.

It's hard to get this close and lose, but someone has too. 30-14 sure beats the heck out of 3-24 their freshman year. plus Sam and Coty are both moving on to the next

    level.

Again good luck too, the ones moving on!

Also there are great kids on both Greenbrier and White House. I know most of them, quit living your life threw them and give them a brake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Thanks fhsjacket!! Congrats on a great run in the District Tournament. I've been telling people all year

to keep a eye your young ladies and you have proven me right.

Good luck to you'll in the regions also and maybe we can do this again next Wednesday!!!!

  3. I would like to say great great game to both Waverly and Sycamore. Tonights winners bracket final went 10 innings before Sycamore's third baseman

Lacey Grimes drove in Katie Waller(running for pitcher Samantha Watts) in the bottom of the 10th with two outs. Both of Waverly's pitcher did a great job,

and Sycamore's pitcher went the whole 10 innings.

It looks like Waverly will play Fairview tommorrow night. good luck to both teams and I can only hope the Championship games will be as good as the game tonight!!!!

  4. Congradulations to the Sycamore Lady War Eagles on their first ever Regular Season Championship in District 11AA with a 3-2 victory over Harpeth tonight.

You have finished one of your goals Ladies, from now on, it only gets tougher. If you can get the bats going you have a shot at the rest of your goals.

    Go War Eagles 13-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Sycamore in pool play Friday night lost 5-0 to Huntsville, then beat Slyvania High 3-2 in a snow storm. Lost this morning 3-0 to Hoover.

Vestavia,Hoover and Huntsville are 1,2,3 in Alabama 6 A. Slyvania is No.2 in 3 A from what I heard last night.

This tournament was loaded with good teams and a cold wind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. She had a perfect game with two outs in the 7th,but walked a batter on a check swing. She got the next young lady out to finish the no-hitter. It was Samantha's 2nd no-hitter of the year and 7th in her four years at Sycamore. A good defense is worth it's weight in gold to a pitcher.

What about the Waverly vs Creek Wood game?

  7. On Thursday Sycamore beat Chester Co. 4-2. Friday they lost 7-1 to a very good Brentwood team. 9 errors undid the Lady War Eagles. The night cap was a International Tie-Breaker loss to Camden 5-4,then again on Saturday morning another 5-4 International Tie- Breaker loss to Goodpasture. In tournament play, Sycamore beat East Robertson in the first game behind a 3-0 shutout No-hitter, before falling to the ever powerfull Riverdale Warriors 5-4 to end their tournament. After this weekend Ladies you should know you can play with anyone as long as you don't make errors.

  8. Sycamore defeated Stewart Co. 11-0, then followed it up with a 4-2 victory today over a very much improved Fairview team. Their freshman pitcher

did a good job stopping the Lady War Eagle bats. Chelsea Shelby is a name to remember in the future.

  9. No predictions here, after this weekend at the Beech play day,it's put up or shut up come Monday. What is everyone's first week look like. Sycamore has a full schedule.

Monday a trip to Stewart Co. to start the season and kick off the district.

Tuesday a much improved Fairview team pays a call to the Lady War Eagles.

Wednesday, Commando Classic: Munford at 6:30, then the first of two games with State power Goodpasture.

Thursday, day two brings a good Wilson Central team at 4:00, then LaVergne at 5:30

Friday are games with Bradley Central 6:30, don't know much about them but heard their good and an very good Blackman team at 8:00

Saturday a second game with Goodpasture, then what ever the brackets bring.

Good Luck to everyone in 11AA.

Congrats too Sycamore seniors,Coty Garrett who signed with Columbia State two weeks ago and Samantha Watts who signed today with King College

  10. Two third's of Sycamore's senior class has signed.

Coty Garrett (Catcher) two weeks ago with Columbia State

Samantha (Sam) Watts (Pitcher) Today with King College.

    Congrats too both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Should be two very good ball games! Sycamore lost earlier this year, in a very good 4-3 game to Camden in the Bellevue Classic, in the last inning.

Camden is very well coached team, its just a matter of which Sycamore team shows up!

Good luck too all four teams in this Region and girls leave it all on the field! For some of you this could be your last game!

  12. Good to hear from you CoachDG. They are all doing fine. Sam and Coty are just juniors and both are hoping to play at the next level. I don't think Chellie or Peanut have much interest in playing pass high school and C-Jay has been talking to a couple of schools. These three along with Catlin have had a great senior year.

  13. Sycamore beat Harpeth 9-1. That should tie Waverly and Sycamore for second with Waverly having the tie breaker, both at 10-4.

    Central beat Cheatham also!

That should seed, I believe:Correct me if I'm wrong!

    (1) Creek Wood vs (8) Stewart

    (2) Waverly vs (7) Cheatham

    (3) Sycamore vs (6) Fairview

    (4) Harpeth vs (5) Montgomery Central

Are all of these games going to be played on Wed?

Good luck to everone in the tournament!

  14. The real score was a ugly 12-0 to Rossview! They played good,we didn't!

The bats came back alive against Stewart Co. as the War Eagles hammered out 14 hits I believe, and Burke struck out 8 for a 11-1 win

  15. Susie Burke freshman left-hander from Sycamore has been a force so far for the Lady War Eagles pitching four complete games. She is averaging 8 strike-outs a game while posting a 3-1 record so far this season .

  16. THANKS COACH DG TOLD THE GIRLS TODAY AND THEY SAID HEY AND THANKS. COACH B. HAS THEM PLAYING PRETTY GOOD RIGHT NOW 8-5 (3-0) IN DISTRICT . BEAT CHEATHAM TODAY 4-0 ,BUT REAL TEST COMES NEXT WEEK WITH CREEK WOOD ON MONDAY AND A DOUBLE HITTER WITH STEWART ON THURSDAY.

  17. Sycamore beat Harpeth 4-3 both pitcher done fairly well. Isle for Harpeth only gave up 2 hits and struck out 8. Sam Watts for Sycamore gave up 4 hits while striking out 9, she had control problems because of wet field and walk 5, but she made up for it with a 3 rbi double in the bottom of the third.

Freshman right fielder Susie Burke made the play of the game when she made a great catch in the top of the seventh and doubled off a Harpeth player at first with

a throw to freshman first baseman Kathryn White. Both teams played a clean hard fought game.

  18. Lets get back to the topic 10AA Predictions. Looks like most everybody starts district games this week, some people may be surprised by some of the quote bottom dwellers this year. Besides last time I checked Dickson wasn't playing 10AA. LET HEAR SOME PREDICTIONS
