oakland is NOT a very good team and smyrna IS a good team
Although they are my team, I don't think we will blow Oakland out. We will win though......28-14.

Yes, and i Believe your smyrna team beat them by 2, then yall "opened up a can" on us winning by *10*, by your theory then Lavergne should beat us by 8, not a huge whoopin or in your case, and opening of the can. Dude we beat you.....just like everyone in the region, besides Oakland, and Blackman will do. As for the ignorant comment, better to be silent and have everyone wonder, than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt. I think you have removed all doubt! Lebanon lost to Mt Juliet by 2....We beat Mt Juliet by 2....I guess that means we should beat them by 4 points? Do I need to go on?

Wonder what you would be saying if the Siegel special teamer didn't tackle his own guy on that kickoff...I think you would be singing a completely different tune. BTW....it does give them confidence that they might not have had before....that they can beat good teams if they play well. Because I know they felt like they let that Smryna game slip through their grasps.
If this, if that.......you know what that say about ifs? If you want to compare scores to determined success, let's take a look. Riverdale beat you guys how bad? I think by 50 pts.? They beat Lavergne by about 8pts.? I guess they beat the stars by 42 pts.

The last time I checked Harris a team doesn't get quality points for "hanging". The twinkle, twinkle, little starz got beat by 10. They will also get beat by Lavergne. This isn't cross-country harris, you have to win in order for it to mean anything.

missed opportunities for both teams....Siegel had their chances of winning it and probably could have....that special teams fiasco didn't help
Then again Smyrna also could have went up by more if that receiver held on the to the ball before he went into the endzone. 3rd and 27 and 3rd and 21 no excuse for giving those up. esp the first one on a running play. Sonny Grey is a good QB and we all know the talent Wilks has.
Tough game that could have went either way...can't help but feel we let an opportunity slip through our hands from the siegel perspective though.

as for the siegel education, we have no room for improvement. lets think about oakland for a second ... your "most improved" therefore "better educated" ... which is what you were implying. werent they targeted by the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND program? i mean, they HAD to improve or else the school gets shut down or something.
as for hoolie, hes got the serve and the grades to get in any university he wants ... why is it necessary for you to put him down just because you cant? or myabe your kid cant? or maybe big brother? ... i dont know how old you people are but you're acting like you're in the 3rd grade.
and as for our administration, im pretty sure we are not ENCOURAGED to taunt ... we are encouraged to have CLASS. if we dont show class we have the good ole meeting in the library. did anyone notice the shirts oakland made for their game against siegel? "SIEGEL'S GARBAGE"? yeah the day we are allowed to make shirts like that is the day hades freezes over.
and as for coaches getting us out of trouble at hoolie's party ... HAH ... So did you not see where I said Lebanon beat us? I just find it funny when people said what a cupcake Mt Juliet is and then Lebanon loses to them. I really think we are that good?? Where did i infer anything relating to how good we are? It was a post complimenting Mt. Juliet and nothing else.

The only bad thing about some of the comments in this thread is that Riverdale players may just step it up a notch and decide to play. However, even if they take this game seriously, WC may just be the most athletic team. It is hard to beat better athletes, but with the tradition and the will to win that Riverdale has, I will have to give Riverdale the edge.

I have to agree with Riverdale.......W.C. is going to "open up a can" on the warriors. Once W.C is finished whupping them, then the Dawgs are going to finish them. They are pretenders......no longer champions. They have a nice of enough team, but just like other dynasties, they are crumbling!

Who said that Siegel was not really that good? I DID! They beat two mediocre 4A schools, and were lucky to beat a below average Oakland team. Now that they are actually playing quality teams, the losses will continue to mount. GO DAWGS!

I told you guys that the game will be closer than everybody thought. People were saying that Riverdale will win by 48,42, but they won by 8. Lavergne did a good enough job to stay in the game, but not enough to win. Riverdale's line openend up holes all night for miller. Everybody get's on Wilson Central Bandwagon now, why? They have beat some weak teams. Do you remember they only won 6 games last year, the most in school history. Forgot about the 2 years with no wins. Now everybody thinks they might beat Riverdale. You can't run on Riverdale and all wc does is the misdirection wing t offense. Does wc have the speed on d to stop Lavergne's passing attack. If Lavergne can throw on the fastest db's in the region and best d-line doesn't get alot of pressure, then the game will be won by Lavergne... Mark it down. Lavergne will finish 2nd in the region only if smyrna gets beat by blackman, or Siegel. We know they will get beat by riverdale.
Okay now let's give credit where it is due......Lavergne gave Riverdale all they wanted. They expopsed a weakness of RHS......the secondary. As for Smyrna, don't think the dogs are going to lay down for Riverdale. The "blood" is in the water, and the sharks are gathering....or shall I say the "DAWGS"! Just like in Rocky III when Rocky hits the invincible Clubber and cuts him, Riverdale has been cut! Go Dawgs!

Smyrna has played a very tough schedule their 4 opponents records are 13 and 2
the only loses any of them have are to Smyrna.
Blackman will not be able to run the ball against Smyrna consistently enough to win. With backs like Mims and Wallace they will occasionally make some plays but if they are not in 3rd and short then they will struggle.
Smyrna in contrast has shown they can run or throw effectively and if you give Sonny time he will pick you apart and if you try to come after him they will run the draw right by you.
This may be a rare game where you see 11 men in the box on defense. Until Blackman shows they can throw I believe this is what they will see every game.
If Smyrna is having to make adjustments to stop Blackmans passing then we are in great shape.
Smyrnas offense is a different offense with Sonny healthy ( he only played 1 and a half qtrs against brentwood and could barely move against wc)
In summary Smyrna will win becasue they are more balanced over all.
I agree with 82, it is going to be a DAWG VICTORY!

As a matter of fact I can see into the future, and what I see is a team (Siegel) who just received votes for the top 10 in the state. Of course it was 4A. Are you having fun beating the Springfields, and the Mt.Juliets of the state? Go Dawgs!

I really think that this game will develop into the biggest rivalry in the county before all is said and done.
And I disagree with you folk...Blackman has some good players besides Mimms. I am impressed that Mimms had to sit out the LC game and for the 1st half of the Centennial game. I know that had to be hard for the coaches to do that. The kid is way too young to get such a big head. But I mean it would be impossible not to the way everyone on here says that all they have is Mimms. And from what I heard, he was allowed to get away with everything the last 2 yrs. So kudos to Wells for actually TRYING to force some discipline on the team. Good luck to BHS. I hope they get a win, but I don't think it will come this week.

they will win if they want to. lavergne is very powerful when they want to be. vs. smyrna they slowed and stopped them in second quarter. they completely shut out centennial after one drive, and they held lebanon to zero points in the second half last friday. when lincoln county and page highschool scrimmaged them at camp this summer, they both got in fights with them.lavergne always came out on top. kudos to Lavergne. i think they have the best shot besides Wilson central at Riverdale.
Lavergne has shown tremendous improvement, however, to suggest that they could give Riverdale a game is ridiculous.

No...actually he may be going to Oakland. He has publically stated that he wanted to get away from football for awhile, and he thought Oakland would be the perfect fit!
