1. Well come on over and see what you can do. Not only Antioch, but E. Lit placed third in small school duals last season and is looking strong this season. Glencliff has been steady for years now. Hunters Lane has came up as well. Who are you with Hillwood? How many wrestlers do you all have, 6, 7 you all couldn't compete in our region if you tried.

I dont wrestle anymore there buddy, and i live in chattanooga but trust me when i say this your region is the weakest in the state, it may compete with region 9 b/c clarksville is the only top team there, and do you even know that there is more than one hilltoppers in the state of tennessee?

  2. Ooltewah brings home the hardware, with a very good Brentwood team finishing second. Probably some of the worst officiating I've seen in a long time across the board. Someone needs to explain to these guys what stalling is and how to call it. No consistency, i could go on but i'll stop there.

  3. Just a shot in the dark but i'm guessing Clarksville will be in attendance... Lol!

If most of the teams from last year show up it could be real exciting again. Here's some from last year I remember:

    Soddy

    Ooltewah

    Ravenwood

    Brentwood

    Hendersonville

    Overton

    Clarksville

    Rossview

There were more but i can't remember anymore. Last year it was Soddy and Ooltewah in the finals with Soddy winning, but if the Owls can perform like they did last weekend I'd give them the nod at this point. But that's just assuming they're all coming again. Should be a great tourny to watch in any event!

Soddy's tournament is this weekend so they won't be there this year.

  4. One example as to how tough the tournament is at Knox Catholic would be that Bo Usary, a two time state champ, never had a first place finish at that tournament.I think he finished second twice. Now thats not a knock on Usary, just an example of how tough it is to win there.

and yet science hill goes to which tournament now?

  5. What I really meant to say was that a few of the Ooltewah horses spent some time in the Ringgold pastures on an off night during football season and they weren't playing nicely with some of the Ridgeland ponies.

[/quotte] /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> CHATTWRESTLING; How many horses you got grazing on that football field in Bradley. We got a couple on ours. If god created Bradley wrestling on the eighth day, he hast hopefully cast you guys out. It only took a snake and a naked couple to bring forth his anger the last time. Isnt theft a commandment or something ?

That is completely unrelated to the wrestling program at Ooltewah, why dont you talk about wrestling on a wrestling board and talk football somewhere else.

  6. I have no afflilation with either team, but they showed highlights of the game on the Friday Night Lights show on the local news channel and Maplewood got the shaft in this game. The touchback call was the incorrect call, the ball crossed the line in the possession of the reciever and then he fumbled. The refs got it right the first time, and don't know why they changed their call. Also Maplewood is a 4A team not a 5A team, so no I don't think the Owls can compete with the best 5A teams in the midstate because they should of lost to a 4A team. Just had to share after seeing that call on the tv tonight.

Gerry bertier your always trying to get on here and cause trouble, i have no afffilation with either team as well however I happened to be at the game and The maplewood reciever clearly fumbled the ball before he crossed the goal line. Also Brian's TD run that they called down right before the half was a questionable call as well. At any rate Ooltewah got one call against them and so did Maplewood. Dont try and take away a sound win from the Owls by discrediting it. And as far as 5A teams up in nashville goes region 5 up there is a joke this year, you might be refering to the williamson county schools but the best metro team resides in 4A.

  7. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Can you eliminate yourself? /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" /> The problems there are not going away. Phillips chose a bad situation to begin as a head coach. I know something about that myself. Live and learn. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Try not to hurt any of our boys 12NCS.

O man I love getting on here and seeing what yall have to say, Hillsboro by a lot that's pretty obvious but I do feel for my Toppers. Hope everything is going well bigchief and 12NCS.

  8. This is pretty sad in my opinion, I wrestled at CPA in middle school and ended up leaving before I wrestled in high school but the wrestling program started deminish when Mike Reasons left and soon after that Mike Wall followed as well. It would be a shame to see CPA drop there wrestling program, it would be something if they got good enough to start to challenge FRA each year or other smalls schools because they have the talent.

I guess Coach Gabe dos not care about the individuals after there showing in chatt.

I'd like for you to explain that a little bit better.....what happened at state that would show that Gabe didnt care about individuals this year?

  10. QUOTE(maj @ Feb 13 2007 - 12:01 PM) 826370088

The rules are what they are . I wouldn't begrudge a kid a trip to the state who had less than 3 in his bracket at regions or was seeded high enough in a small bracket to get a first round bye and ends up in the quarters without winning a match. I doubt it happens often enough to get too excited about it.

the hunters lane 103 get's sticked in 45 seconds and then getts a by to 3rd place doesnt even win a match and has his ticket stamped to chattanooga.

So tough, had to wrestle one match, lost, got a free trip, but I will guarantee he is not the only person in the state that got a free trip, he truly deserves it, he is a hard worker and will do just fine at state.

i doubt he is the only one in the state as well, but he's the only one that i know of and i'm not doubting his work ethic or anything like that i just think it's pathetic that anyone can make it to state without winning a match in the regional.

  12. QUOTE(alillard119 @ Feb 11 2007 - 10:32 PM) 826367991

...can Soddy Daisy break the state tournament points record?

I can see Soddy Daisy placing 11 or 12 guys and having 6 champions. I can see Bradley placing 7 or 8 guys and having 1 or maybe even zero champions, so i dont the team race being close. Maybe i should stay out of the hospitality room this time, so no one gets fired up when i post what i hear. Good luck to everyone this Wed, Thur, and Fri.!!!!

Your 215 matchup cant happen in the finals and it's a shame that it's that way b/c both guys are on the same side of the bracket and will face each other in the semi's, that's a bold prediction at 145 too, i watched felix mop emin up in the region 6 championship the other night but someone has got to lose to felix in the finals.

All the other regions are going on and on about the seeds. Lets get ours going. Who are the top 4 at each weight?

Justin Scott from Hw @ 152 is definitely 1 or 2

C.J. Lewis at Hwt. might sneak in as well

Tazz Johnston either 112 or 119 is always capable to come up with an upset as well.

  15. QUOTE(werazzlin @ Feb 2 2007 - 11:36 AM) 826355817

I believe that Jones from Springfield will upset some people at state 152. He is underrated in my opinion. Great job Hamm and You to Bray.

He also displayed quite the attitude while getting torn up by the Spain last year at state.

  16. QUOTE(humphreyssm @ Jan 28 2007 - 01:50 AM) 826348964

amen to that....one coach filling in for a ref...kid choked twice..warned twice...third time kid had to drag opponent out of bounds...still no points taken or disqualification

Refs are not responsible for assigning themselves to a tournament, or event. as for the kid beign choked 3 times, i didnt see that happen but it sounds pretty bad and some points should of been awarded. But if that's ur only complaint then it is pretty weak when you take into consideration how many matches went on that day.

  17. QUOTE(Lucas is my idol @ Jan 23 2007 - 11:37 PM) 826343258

Middle Tennessee for the most part has had great refs over the years. Worst refing I have seen in years was at the McCallie Middle School Duels.

I would have to disagree with you on that one, the refs there were completely overworked, one ref officiated 10 dual matches and the other 2 did 9 i'm not expert but that's a lot of matches to call in a 10 to 11 hour span. Give those guys a break. You might not of been happy with Baylor coming on top of your All-star team twice in one day.
