  1. Instead of relying on a "little source". there's at least 6 games which have been filmed. They have a good running quarterback, a massive D-1 lineman who has been known to play in the backfield and a very large and fast running back. They will run the spread offense if they can't run. Other than that, there aren't any secrets.

Oh yeah, Baylor 28 FRHS 14.

Have you considered DII AA? It might be more hospitable to a consistently mediocre football team.

Have you looked at the Region and State Championships in every other sport? That's why they don't move down.

  2. i have a question for father ryan people...whatever happened to that quaterback i believe he was #4 he was a great player and athelete i was really looking forward to seeing him take over....just wondering where he went he left after his sophomore year i forget his name if i find out then ill post it thanks

Denny Dotston. I don't think that he wasn't all that good.

  3. after beating Franklin, should DII AAA schools consider Father Ryan a threat..or (((as usual)) a joke?

Too ealry to say yet. Last week's win proves that they have the ability to be a threat if they can play like that week in and week out for 4 quarters. Wait till they get a few DII AAA wins under their belt to be considered a threat.

  4. Great win Irish!  I couldn't see it but I heard it was amazing.  Just don't get cocky about 1 win.  We need about 9 or 10 more of those, then you deserve to be cocky.  Congratulations and keep up the goodwork.

Like I said earlier. Don't get cocky about one big win. We did the same thing last year after the CBHS game and almost lost to a BGA team that we should have killed. Be excited about the game, but just don't be cocky. We have nothing to be cocky about... yet, hopefully. Good luck next week and the rest of the season.

  5. By the way, OR has State Chamionships in 56', 58', 61', 62', 75', 79'. 80', and 91'. I think that's 8.

Again, according to TSSAA they didn't win one in 61. They could be wrong, but the point is that Oak Ridge doesn't have more state championships than MBA and BA combined. Whether they have 7 or 8, its still impressive. It would be pretty cool to see Father Ryan climbing its way up that list in the near future.

  6. You football experts are a hoot. What is MBA's record this year? Which one of the teams you mentioned has won 65 games in the last 6 years? I am a new Ryan fan but will enjoy beating you chumps on a regular basis. OR has 8 state Championships and 2 national championships. Forgive me, but I don't remember ever seeing any of the teams you mentioned rated in the top 25 national poll. The teams you named don't have 8 state champinships between them. Get real. But like I said, get ready to get your clock cleaned on a regular basis.

According to the TSSAA website, BA is in 1st with 9 State Championships, MBA is in 2nd with 8, and Oak Ridge is in 4th with 7.

  7. Are you serious?  Not one freshman started varsity last year.  There might have been one or two on kick off team at the end of the season, but that doesn't count as starting.  That is the problem with the program, every sophomore and junior class sit around and talk about how good they are going to be their senior year, and just buy time till they are seniors.  Then once they are seniors, the rest of the team is doing the same thing they did.  I know how it is, I was there.  Once you stop talking about how you're good you are going to be in the future and start playing NOW is when you will start winning some games.  Good luck this season and please get this program back on the right track.

One last thing... Please help the seniors out by not thinking about tomorrow and playing your hearts out today. That's the best way to earn their respect.

  8. Father Ryan[/url] Wrestling' date='Sep 7 2005 - 07:45 PM']I see this team winning the state title in 2 years. The sophmore class at this school is stacked 100%. Many of the sophmores started varsity their freshman year.

  9. ryan usually sends more to the ivy's each year than mba

It's funny how Ryan got 6 kids into Notre Dame last year and MBA got none. Not sure about jp2 but I know they didn't get 6. Ryan got countless others into good schools besides ND, ex: Vandy, Tulane, Air Force, and West Point. I'm not knocking on MBA's or JP2's academics, just sticking up for Ryan's. FRW was right about being good in other sports. I couldn't see the game last night but congratulations to jp2, just wish we could have had a chance to play last year.

  10. yes 4 of them did Jason Bristol, Jonathan White, Wade wonderlin, and Taylor Preston is there a reason behind this question?

Yeah. I thought that I recognized some of the names, I used to play with them. I haven't seen any of them since I quit.

  11. I'm not sure who the 2 teams were, but it was in CSS this past year. I think it was the Georgia state playoffs. This team was down by 2 with like 20 seconds left and had the ball aroud the 30 with no timeouts. They ran a play but didn't get out of bounds to stop the clock. They somehow got their field goal team on the field and snapped it with like .2 seconds left. The kicker just barely cleared the cross bar to win.
