  1. I am a fellow Gleason Football player and I can't think of a better person to achieve the school's very first win in the playoffs. This is the schools 6th appearance and Coach Noah Lampkins deserves all the accolades that go his way. What he has done for this team and his fellow coaches is nothing short of amazing. I take my hat off to these guys and wish them all the luck in the world. Gleason, go on the road and make road kill. It's a tough draw, but you've been shorted by many on here all season long and have done nothing but prove them all wrong. This program might be getting back to the Bob Dilday days in the 80's and that's when people didn't mind saying they played for Gleason. I played in the 90's and didn't see much if any success and couldn't be more proud of where you guys are today. Good luck this Friday and know you've got a WHOLE town behind you!!

  2. I was just thinking about how difficult from year to year coaches are challenged with the making of schedules. Do you play a non district/region powerhouse? Do you plan a bye week before or after big games? Are you even able to dictate when a bye week comes? I just thought I'd throw out the question and get some input on what you might think as the region games crank up and the early non region games are winding down.

  3. QUOTE(GCPioneer @ Mar 4 2007 - 12:40 AM) 826399072[/snapback]wouldn't really say that...gleason has beaten collinwood

Ditto to Gleason has already beaten Collinwood. Plus with a veteran guard in Kayla Hudson and a defense that is smothering as Gleason's, I'd have to go with the saying, DEFENSE wins CHAMPIONSHIPS! What an impressive win over Scotts Hill!! Go Lady Bulldogs!!

  4. Why not make statements over the radio about how UTM needs local players to help turn around the program. I remember about ten years ago when Bethel College recruited players from local schools like Gleason(Sawyers,McKee, Crowe and Crowe) and Dyersburg(Hudson) and later Big Sandy and were very competative. I realize Bethel is nowhere close to OVC schools, but looking at it, UTM this year isn't either. I have moved away from West Tenn but still keep up with sports there when I can. UTM was down then, and still are. I would like nothing better than UTM to succeed, but if they can't, at least do it with local players instead of out of state players that no one has heard of, or for that matter will hear of(being that noing is going to watch them).

  5. Now that is a big statement. Willie is doing a great job, and they have learned to win games. Don't forget about Jackson Co and their 6'7" monster! Can you say 5 peat.

And just where did Willie attend school? That's what I thought. Gleason will have the best shot within 2 years. Not saying they have the best shot in the state, but locally in West Tennessee maybe so. (Willie's not too bad a golfer either.)

  6. If I remember correctly, this whole post is on a QUESTION! A question asking the best players in Class A. Is that not a FACT? O.K., now I don't see anywhere in that post about who said what, in what paper, about who scored what, and when they scored it against. Who do you think is the best PLAYERS(plural mind you) in Class A. As I see it, they both qualify!

  7. What year is Kaci Baily and what year is Kayla Hudson? If I am correct, I think Kayla is a Sophomore. If Kaci is not a Freshman or Sophomore I would have to say Kayla is the better of the two. They both put up great numbers on two good TEAMS, but the upside of Kayla just being a Sophomore would put her as the better of the two in a recruiting stand point. She still has two years of defining and therefore my vote is Kayla being the better of the two.

  8. I would have to say the top player would be Kayla Hudson. She is starting to remind me more and more of a certain Gleason player of past(Ashley McElheiney). We all know what she did at Gleason, Vandy and now coaching! She can create off the dribble, pull up anywhere, and pass to an open teammate in the open floor. My vote has to go to Hudson.

  9. weak schedule....HAHAHA....chester co.?weak team? trenton? weak team? perry co? ohhhh realllll weak? and lemme also throw in crockett co? they are weak also!!

dude get a grip....im sure those teams have a weak schedule too huh ?

I was talking weak as in the ending of their schedule. I KNOW they have played a tough schedule to date, and the next couple weeks will be a test as well, but they end good. I'm FROM Gleason, and I have a grip. Lets not get that personal on here if you want to stay on here Thanks

  10. Looks like the loss of Felts might hurt them down the stretch against a good team. The lack of depth just might start showing. Good thing the Lady Dawgs have a weak schedule. All the luck in the rest of the season, knowing they will rebound big. Randy Frazier will have them ready for the rematch at home on Jan. 25th.

  11. You just better hope that Kate doesn't have to guard Kayla Hudson from Gleason, because she might even tell you herself who's better than she is.

you poor fellers must not have taken the trip up to northwest tennessee and sat in the new gym on 99 and 92 state drive and watched a certain ms kayla hudson play baseketball.  shes not just playing but she is smoking other teams. when she has a game that other folks call bad by not scoring so much, she is dishing the ball to other team mates.  no doubt the best sub 5'5 player in the state in all divisions, and one of the best overall, a true team player that makes everyone on her team better and the ability to create her shot when needed. and shes a sophomore, so i feel bad for folks this year and the next two, cause she wont graduate without a state championship ring. she may even get a pair
