  1. if Central would have just known what to do they would have won the game. After they took the ball when dye and dixon ran into each other at the end and they started their 3 on 1 break all 3 players were bunched up w/in 5 feet of each other. If they would have just spread out their was no way Dixon could have stopped that break. It was just little things like that all night that got Clinton back in it for the win.

  3. Clinton got ahead in the first couple minutes of the game and then Central went up and stayed up for the rest of the game maintaining about a 4-6 point lead all the way through the rest of the game with Jordan Dixon keeping Clinton in the game the whole time. Dixon had to have had atleast 30 points by halftime and ended up with 41. Clinton finally tied the ball game with around a minute left in regulation and #12 came down and hit a clutch 3 for Central with around 30 seconds to play and Dixon came back on the other end and hit a Clinton 3 almost as time expired. In overtime Central scored first and Clinton quickly answered, then Central turned the ball over and Clinton played keep away for the rest of the overtime period. With about 10 seconds to play Clinton went in their offense for a final shot but Dixon and Dye ran into each other and the ball flew out. Dixon hustled back on defense and it was a 3 on 1 break for Central but Dixon got the steal and threw it to a wide open Bubba Owens at the other end of the court for a lay up as time expired. Giving Clinton a 93-91 win in Overtime.
  4. Clinton beat Karns in every aspect of the game even as to where the Clinton guards were jumping over the Karns post players to get rebounds. Karns got up 9-2 early and then Clinton went on a 19-0 run to go up 21-9 and from then on Karns wasnt even remotely close to bein in the game. Also, every player on Clintons varsity team tonight scored and you dont see that often. Tomorrow nights game wont be the same i know but i would sure hope it would be and i believe its gonna be faught right down to the wire. Im not sure if Clintons big win helped them tonight or hurt them because they could go into the Oak Ridge game with a big head and get beat or they could take it as they still want to get better and start a big winning streak. Who knows? we will see tomorrow night tho in the match up with what i think is the best 2 3AAA teams this year and i know the best 2 3AAA teams in the past 10 years.
  5. Josh Gregory is a transfer from Webb. He did play for the Tennessee Travelers last summer. Jared Stephens did not play for the Travelers

Stephens played some with the Predators last summer. Didnt play with them all summer but in a few tournaments. You wouldnt think it but he DUNKED in a game w/ the Predators. Good, quick player and should develop his shot more the older he gets.

  6. First off Clinton has to look towards Karns and make sure they dont overlook them trying to get ready for Oak Ridge. Secondly Clintons and Oak Ridges backcourts are pretty well evenly matched but Oak Ridge has an advantage in the post and if Clinton wants to win theyll have to overcome that. Some great match ups to look forward to is: Dye/Domsic, Dixon/Younkin, Ford/Dowdell, and in my mind what will be the best matchup of the game will be the Garner/Coffey matchup. Huddleston will also bring the defensive pressure to whoever he guards.

  7. Shannon is a good player but if he played against Dye he would get MESSED up. Shannon played AAU ball with the Shooters and Dye played with the Mid State Ballerz and that has helped him and Dixon both out alot. After Shannon playing out in the country and then when he comes to the city or around the city hes gonna get those ankles broken because Shannon plays a totally different kind of game than these guys do.

  8. Both of these teams will be playing early to earn their spots in the region. This tough district you cant take an off game. These 2 teams are pretty evenly matched in talent. Hargis and Smith are a good inside/outside combo while Clinton has the Dixon/Dye backcourt duo that could be the best in East Tennessee. I think this will be a close game but Clintons fast style of play will wear down the Panther big men "Smith and McGaha" in the 2nd half giving Clinton enough room for the close win.

  9. Bearden shut down Dye in the Greenville tournament (3 points maybe). White had 31. No comparison.

Actually Dye had 16 in that game i believe. Dye is averaging close to 20 a game and probably around 3 assists a game. The best thing that Dye does is push the ball down the court. Alot of pg's that push the ball like that are out of control. Jonathan Dye knows exactly what hes doing and what hes about to do and is very under control while doing it. If theirs a change in the game he picks up the different tempo well and handles it how it needs to be handled, Dye is probably the best game manager of all of these point guards but it is hard to pick a favorite out of all of these guys because all of them are players.

  10. In preseason Clinton has beat Bradley Central at UTC camp, Cleveland in a Scrimmage along with Red Bank i believe in a scrimmage. They played 1 bad game during a scrimmage and yoru calling for a dissappointing season, and who knows they may not have been playing the scrimmage to win they may have been playing to get better and work on some things theyre not very good at or trying to perfect other things. I dont see the reasoning in calling for a dissappointing season off of 1 bad scrimmage from a team thats been to atleast the AAA substate in the past 2 seasons.

  11. I dont think AE won by that much but they could have. Clinton was beating AE in about every aspect of the game except for of the scoreboard. They just couldnt get shots to fall. They were giving AE a hard time w/ the press but they just couldnt put the ball in the bucket.

  12. I didnt think Lee Smith was playing this year because of signing with UT for football. If he does play it should be an all out battle between Clinton, Oak Ridge, Halls, and Powell. Clinton has probably the top guard duo in the east. Oak Ridge has an all around balanced team, but lost quite a bit to graduation last year in loosing Goeringer-shooter but can be replaced by Domsic and Younkin, Daniels-Mulholland, they dont have a player that can come in and replace his strong power and post dominance on the boards and just being able to power it in. And Aaron White an all around player but will be replaced by Dowdell this year. Halls was a good team last year and should be a good team this year too w/ Sharp becoming a Junior and having a year of experience under his belt and they only lost Cody May to graduation and i think Lucas isnt playing this year because of baseball so they shoudl still be a contender. Powell lost some to graduation by loosing Ben Ward, Andrew Roach, and #5. Hargis will be alot better this year because he has a full year of playing varsity ball under his belt and if Smith is playing they will probably have the best inside - outside duo in the district. West could be a contender in this one also but i dont know much about them I know they have a good player in Lateef Michael but i dont think the rest of their team is that good. But, West got a new player this year in Steve Pearl and i think we all know he will be good and help West out but i dont think any of us know how good he will be. My prediction for the regular season district title is:

    1. Clinton

    2. Halls

    3. Oak Ridge

    4. Powell

    5. West

    6. Karns

    7. Central

    8. Campbell Co.

  13. Jordan Dixon of Clinton should be pretty well known by the end of the season. He came on strong at the end of last season and got even better over the summer by playing with the Mid State Ballerz and he works out and shoots hours and hours every day. He should have a break out year.
