  1. Lancster christian was a very athletic group of young men. They were beat by Cumberland in the semi finals not taking anything away from Cumberland but Lancaster was missing 2 of their players that night... i think it would have been a very interesting final with Obion County and Lancaster... Still believe the Rebels would have won....Also would like to send out well wishes for the Macphearson kid from Macon Co hope his nose doesnt cost him too many games... He is a great ball player.

Cumberland County was also without one of its leading scorers when they played LC. The rest of the Jets stepped up against a more physically gifted team. Every team has to play with injuries, so please don't down grade the CCHS win.

  2. When I asked some coaches at Coffee County what they wanted to do, their preference would be to stay in 6AAA. If Stone is added, then that would make a six team district. That would be much better than the five teams currently in 6AAA.

I also heard that Rhea County would be in favor of moving into 6AAA, but that brings in the time zone issue during disrict play, which is a headache. TSSAA stated during the last classification that they did not want schools crossing time zones during district play.

  3. Stone definitely wanted to go east for basketball. Both coaches felt it would be an easier road to the state tournament. They were sweating bullits at the thought of going west. I do know that Cumberland County wants to go west due to the time zone issue and the fact that they already play most of the 8AA schools in most sports. It just makes more sense.

I just wish TSSAA would get the enrollment figures up so everyone can start speculating where the breaks between A-AA-AAA will be...

  4. While we are talking about odd teams that still have a play-off chance you need to mention Cumberland County. They are currently 1-1 in the district and with a win this week vs. Coffee County and next week at White County they would finish 3-1 in the district, which would put them in second place. They could still make the play-offs with a 3-7 record.

  5. I am happy to report that Coach Moore was released from the hospital and is home resting. He will begin therapy in Crossville.

As for Steven Hill, he has been released from the ICU and is doing better. He is still at Childrens Hospital, but may get to come home before Christmas. They are still trying to determine what caused his blood clots.

Thanks to all have prayed these two, and thanks to all that will continue to pray for them. Merry Christmas to all!

  6. Please say a prayer for two members of the Cumberland County basketball program. Assistant Coach Blaine Moore suffered a stroke on Tuesday and was taken to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment. He has progressed enough to come home today, but will still be going through therapy for some time.

On the same day, junior Steven Hill was taken to the hospital. He was diagnosed with blood clots in his legs and lungs. Steven was later taken to East Tennessee Childrens Hospital, where he is currently in the ICU. We are still not sure why the clots formed, as tests are still being run. He is a great young man that will be going through a lot over the next several months. Please keep both these individuals in your prayers this holiday season.

  7. I just wanted to add this post to let you know that you are right. If you did not know the problem is not just on the field. tonite after the game as White County was walking to their dressing room, two players taunted some White County players. The White County players kept walking and the Cumberland County players came after them. This was with the White County coaches walking with them. Two Crossville police officers broke it up. About ten minutes later two more Cumberland County players came to the White County buses and sprayed pepper spray in some of the White County players faces. Well needless to say, it was on after that. Players, coaches, parents and about seven Crossville Police officers. There is no need for something like this. I hope for you and your son, something gets turnned around up there.See you next year.

First, congratulations to White County. You deserved the victory. Second, please get your facts straight before posting. The two individuals that approached the bus threw water bottles. The police officer on the scene is the one that used the pepper spray once the White County players exited the bus. There were only four officers present. It was a disgrace for CCHS, and I am sure that it will be dealt with. Good luck in the play-offs.

  8. I don't know who to believe here. One parent said that Coach Epperson was moving because his wife found a job, but another parent said she talked to his wife and she didn't want to move that far east. Does anyone know the truth?

Anyone heard names of possible replacements? Spring practice is right around the corner.
