Lebanon High football will play host to a 7-on-7 tournament Saturday, Jan. 13. Registration at 7:45 am; pool play runs 8-11 am; lunch break 11-11:45; tournament from 11:45 to 3 pm.

Space is limited to 24 teams. Cost is $200 per team, checks should be made payable to Lebanon High Football. To reserve a spot, call Chuck Gentry (615) 418-7587 or email gentrcha100@wcschools.com. 

Teams should bring light and dark tops. NON-CONTACT, however helmets & mouth pieces are required. Lunch is not provided, a concession stand will be open.

Is there a radio station that carries Shelbyville football live?
I know the Lebanon station carries LHS, but I want to be able to hear a broadcast at the game Friday. I don't see too well anymore and local radio helps me through the rough spots. THANKS

How did the Beech jamboree go at Wilson Central? I haven't heard a score.

How long was Humes at DA? I remember he was at Trousdale County too.

Former Wilson Central HC Jeff Keller is the new coach at Watertown. He was already on the faculty and had planned on helping with the boys team when the girls job came open. Numbers have gone WAY UP once he took over.

HARD NUMBERS - In her 4 years as a starter at LHS, Addie Porter piled up 1600-plus points, 600-plus rebounds, 400-plus assists and 300-plus steals.  As a 5-5 guard she led the team in rebounds for each of the past two seasons. As a senior, she was District 9AAA regular season and tournament MVP as well as MVP of the Region 5AAA tournament.  Will graduate with 12 athletic letters having played 4-years of softball and volleyball in addition to her 4-years with the Devilettes. 

In the win over Bradley Central, Porter led both teams in points (14) and rebounds (8) AND hit the game-winner off a nasty crossover move. In the win over Hardin County, she had a double-double with 18 & 12. In the finals, she led all scorers with 19 points. Thru three games in M-Boro last week, she played all 96 minutes, averaging 17 points / 8 rebounds per game AND her teammates love her.

Yes, higher seeds to host in district. Same in region tournament.  9-AAA district meeting will be held Tuesday, brackets to be released later that day.

Was the Hendersonville - Beech girls game played Friday night?

Parking may be a little tricky since they installed the turf.  They are urging fans to park at the front of the school. Parking adjacent to the visitor bleachers is iffy at best.

Kickoff for FCS versus Trousdale County is 7:30 pm Friday. FCS always plays early-season home games at 7:30.

Region 5-AAA finals -- Lebanon downs Mt. Juliet 47-41 Wednesday in Gallatin. Devilettes improve to 24-10 and will host Ravenwood in Saturday's Class AAA Sectional. Mt. Juliet falls to 26-6 and will visit Dickson County for the sectional. All tournament: Tee Davis & Emma Palmer of Mt. Juliet, Sydnee Richetto of Wilson Central, Kendra Mueller of Beech, Addie Porter, Allissa Mulaski and tournament MVP Christaney Brookshire -- all from Lebanon High.

Medley is splitting his work day at Tuckers Crossroads and Carroll Oakland K-8 -- schools that feed LHS. He runs the strength & conditioning programs at those schools as part of PE. He's on a 100 day contract with the school system.

Pretty hefty bump money-wise. Also free or discounted tuition for his sons. Wonder who gets the TWC job? 

The low pay in Wilson County (relative to Sumner, Rutherford etc.) will be tough to overcome. Wilson Central was VERY lucky to get John Wild for their girls program last year. The boys job there is still wide open after Bond recently left. I believe Lebanon will find the same issues for their job search.

I agree -- Barrett deserves a second chance. What are the odds he'd do something stupid on his next assignment?  The big question remains, who will have the guts to give him that opportunity?

Lebanon's Jackson Arnold threw a three-hitter. Franklin struck out 7 and gave up no earned runs. 

Cumberland University football would like to invite 2015 seniors who have not yet made a college decision and are interested in playing collegiate football to a tryout 11 a.m. Saturday May 2, at Nokes-Lasater Field.

All players attending must have a minimum 2.5 overall grade-point-average and an 18 on the ACT, no exceptions. There is the possibility for athletic grant-in-aids, with additional money awarded to students with a 3.0 GPA and a 22 ACT.

All participants should bring cleats and gym shoes and dress for skill tests and drills.
