  1. I hadn't been to McMinnville in several years, but made the trip Tuesday for the Baird Junior High - WCMS game. I came away VERY impressed with the upgrades to the stadium. The pressbox went from the worst to one of the very best in Middle TN. Of course, the landscaping is fantastic with the shrubs spelling out Pioneers in the endzone. The lighting was top notch, the seating section was clean and that out beat-up concession stand on the visitors side has been demolished and hauled away. Well done Warren County! When did the change over begin and what did it take for the school system to get off ground zero? Who pushed for the improvements?

  2. Lebanon senior Jordan Stafford ran for 382 yards on 39 carries and 5 Tds in the 35-26 win. This is the 8th best single game rushing effort in TSSAA history -- certainly an LHS record. Both QBs were beat up, so Stafford was pretty much the only option on offense. He also had seven tackles and an interception.

  3. Steve Willard at Ensworth, formerly at MBA. He's not available as he's been the regular PA guy for Austin Peay football and basketball for what -- 25 or 20 years. He's hands-down the best I've ever heard. Worked the NCAA baseball regional at Vandy when Price was a senior, the OVC tournament at Sommett Center and has filled in for the Sounds when his work schedule allowed.

  4. Correct -- three turnovers for LHS, a fumble at the Rossview goal line and two INTs. Rossview broke the opening kickoff 69 yards for a TD. Their TD drives in the second half were 1 play, 3 plays and 1 play. Lebanon out-snapped 'em 65 to 37 or it might have been worse.

  5. LHS sophomore Patrick Maynard (No. 13) went wild. He ran 14 times for 91 yards and a TD. Was 3 for 3 passing for 59 yards and two TDs. Punted six times for an average of 38.1 per and returned a kickoff 60 yards to open the second half. Wilson Central was hurt by two fumbles -- both led directly to two Lebanon touchdowns. Hunter Cranford completed 20-of-27 for 175 yards and Polle ran 13 times for 68 for WC.

  6. Does anyone still manufacture the old style flip down sunglasses? They had an elastic strap to hold them to your head and went under the bill of your cap. Had the big ugly nose piece.

  7. London enrolled at Trevecca last fall, went a full semester and had her son over the Christmas break. She is eligible to play BASKETBALL at Trevecca and will have four years of eligibility for the Lady Trojans. She was back working out with her teammates during the spring semester and was KILLING people. She attends open gym regularly and will be a serious factor as Trevecca makes another run toward the NAIA national tournament.

  8. Motlow State is a quality program. They just won the TJCAA title and made a (brief) appearance in the NJCAA World Series. Martin will be back with former MJ teammate and Motlow 1st baseman Amy Buwalda.
