1. QUOTE(cookevillelax @ Apr 24 2007 - 08:14 PM) 826444499How did Franklin lose by 8 if they led at half?

ravenwood had a carwash last saturday and five of their starters didn't make it. coach little, as a punishment, sat those players for the first half. the second half they were allow to play, this is the reason ravenwood ran away with the game in the second half and the first was much closer.

  2. QUOTE(www.schoolsportsradio.com @ Apr 17 2007 - 09:59 PM) 826439991I've been out of town on some other video jobs & wanted to get 2 in this week before I head to Panama City to do 3 days of video next week.

I plan to do a broadcast on the 31st from MBA and then hopefully the Championships.

I hope we get an announcer from one of the schools playing, if not it will be video only and the crowd

i am a journalism electronic media major and i have also played lacrosse for close to 10 years now. i will be at the game, if you are in desperate need of someone to help i guess i could.

  3. QUOTE(Redtwin @ Apr 18 2007 - 09:17 AM) 826440237I don't think the Ravenwood v Franklin game will be close. I'll venture a conservatice guess and say Ravenwood by 5.

i'm gonnaa have to agree with at least 5. we havent seen a ravenwood reply yet, so i am guessing this is been seen by all the coaches and players and coach told them to let the sticks do the talking. remember that franklin won state last year and got beat up by ravenwood 10-3- scoring all three in the second half, which must mean ravenwood was playing their second string kids. i wouldn't be surprised after all of this talk if ravenwood plays their starters the entire game.

  4. wilson has committed to gettysburg college. it will be nice to see a couple of solid TN players stay together. hopefully both cahill and wilson will help gettysburg to a national title in a couple of years.

  5. Jack Cleary by far best offensive player. I would take McConnell over Catterton. Catterton has more help on defense as well as middies; so you should take a look at the bigger picture before we all decide for sure. Both goalies are solid netminders though.

  6. The thing that has made me angry in the past is that all americans are picked because of stats. McCallie has many great players, three who could be all americans but they do not have the stats because the team isnt focused around one player. Cahill might have the stats but he doesnt have talent like Austin Colpini or David Hughes. Im not saying that he isnt a great player but i just dont think that his talent can match these two offensive players.

I agree with lax32, from all things that I have seen from Cahill, I am not that impressed. I will also agree with Redtwin when he says that there isn't really any other offensive threat vying for the award, however don't give it to Cahill by default either. I know Cahill is quick and has good vision, I played with him on a summer league team, but I am not quite sure about every other aspect of the game. Don't get me wrong I am not saying he isn't talented but I would like to see a little bit more from him, especially if he wants to be an all american.

  7. This game was completly dominated by mccallie. Ravenwood played well for about the first 3/4ths of the 1st quater the score was 3-2. But after that it was over. I have no idea what happened maybe a little intimidation or somthing but Mccallie in every aspect of this game domintated and thats why they won by 5 goals. But I will say that Ravenwood played no where near what they are capable of playing and trust me come playoffs if these two teams meet again, it will be a much closer game. O and by the way, I am a Ravenwood fan, but I thought that stick check was totally unnessesary, and trust me not alot of the Ravenwood players liked it either, it made them look very desperate. Coach Little's a great coach, but I would have to disagree with that coaching decision. Congrats to Mccallie on a dominating win.

I find it hard to believe that it was completely dominated by McCallie. According to the box score McCallie only dominated the second quarter.

  8. after all the years of division one guys saying how worthless DII teams are i have to say i saw this coming. in their first year of being DI ravenwood took care of a top DI school. so i'd like to know where are all the excuses now?

  9. You say that they will "hold their own" but are they really going to be that good in our league. You have to consider the fact that competition is much different in DI than it is in DII. Do you really think that Ravenwood will actually be better than teams like Webb and Farragut?

    825674500

Considering that Ravenwood beat both Webb, Farragut, Father Ryan, USN, and Houston and their only DI loss was to MBA 7-5. Makes a strong case for their team. I doubt they will go to the finals but I do believe they deserve to be DI.

  10. DII doesn't matter?! All I have to say is I cannot wait until next year when another DII team moves up. I'm pretty sure that they are going to remember this thread and use it for motavation against some of you DI guys. If any of you DI guys actually get playing time for your team.

  11. As apart of UT Men's Lacrosse Team we would love for all of you guys to come out and play next year. We look forward to seeing you during the fall and hopefully into the spring of '06. We have a very strong group next year returning nearly all of our starters and the goal as always is to win the SELC.

  12. MBA-7

    Ravenwood-5

A close game I believe that it was tied 3-3 at the half and Ravenwood fell off a bit and MBA took it away. A close game between a top DI program and a DII school! Maybe the Divisional gap is closing more quickly than the DI kids believed. Hopefully we see this match up again next year.

  13. wjrlax is right Alan Abbott for CHS is probably the best face off guy in the state. In Centennial's 6 games he is roughly 100 for 106 = 94%! This is no lie people. He loses maybe one face a game. We are still yet to see how he does against the face off guys from the better schools however. But watch out for this guy at the face off x.

  14. Yesterday afternoon Ravenwood went to USN to play their 3rd game against a DI team, and for a third time they won. Ravenwood put up 13 to USN's 8. Ravenwood sophomore attack John Wilson had a break out game with 5 goals and 1 assist, sophomore midfielder Phillip Burke helped with the cause tacking on 3 goals and 1 assist. Unfortunately USN's stats are not yet up. So when they are I'll get back to this post and let everyone know how USN's threats Swanson and Chambers played.

  15. I think that brentwood29 is confused with Rudolph instead of Price. But he is correct that the graduation of those two players play a huge part. Last year Rudolph and Reynolds scored 228 points collectively in ONE SEASON! I think it is literally impossible to replace 228 points. But don't count them out because they pulled the opposite of Centennial, they joined with another team instead of breaking up. Don't take this team lightly is all I have to say.
