1. A player is not responsable to determine his eligablity, that is the coach and administrations place. And I did not post for literal names it was rhetorical, please don't blame the players.

I didn't blame him, I said it wasn't his fault. It was his dad's and the school's.

  2. Name one player on Temple that broke a rule. And, anyone that thinks they don't have a chance is exactly right, not because of the circumstances but because of the attitude. I am not saying Temple should go unpunished, but the finger must be pointed in the right direction, at former coaches not at the players.

Seth Skogen the leader and biggest part of their team. He apparently played while ineligeable. While he didn't do anything to make himself ineligable, his own dad and/or the school apparently did.

  3. How can you not know that a kid from another school cant be on your football team? You at least have to ask a few questions about it.

I could understand if you break a rule that deals with how much you can practice or playing in a summer league or something like that, but how can you not know that recruiting and paying school bills are rules? I guarantee that these people knew what they were doing, and saying they didnt know the rules is their easiest cop out.

I agree. I admit I don't know squat about the TSSAA rules. But this should be common sense. And Caleb Marcum not knowing then calling TSSAA and said someone there told him it was okay but he didn't know who told him that? For one, I would err on the cautious side as not to get the school and my athletic program in trouble and have a bad name. And secondly, I would think the whole situation whether it was legal by TSSAA rules or not was kind of fishy and not do this kind of stuff. I would hold my program and my school to a higher standard since it's a Christian school. I would have told him when they transfer then they could practice, and I would have had questions about how they got there. But maybe that's just me. Looks like Marcum being an inexperienced first time AD is really going to bite them.

  4. I will try. And maybe "a black eye for all privates" was not the proper wording. But the fact is that many people are looking at this with Temple as the rule and not the exception. It is pushing some ideas of "all privates recruit/cheat/whatever." Not everyone is looking at it this way but trust me, there are quite a few that really are. It may not be the right way to think of it but it is their way of thinking of it.

I think you're right. And I think now anytime a kid transfers to a private school there's going to be a ton more suspicion hanging over the kid and the school.

  5. You guys need to quit using the term "violation." So far there are only issues, not violations. The TSSAA needs to charge us with a violation or shut up. We are not in denial. But so far the only thing any of us at Temple really know about the issues are what we have read in the paper and heard on the radio or discussed among ourselves.

I don't care what Hargiss writes in the paper, until the TSSAA makes an official charge, then I am not going to spend a whole lot of time worrying over "he said, she said" and forced interpretations of rules, and trying to read between the lines.

Which would be better for us? To give our principal and AD the benefit of the doubt and be patient and see the outcome or get ourselves all worked up into a frenzy for no good reason?

Some of you guys really have a struggle with reading comprehension. You continue to put stuff in the equation that is not there. You keep saying that Temple did not self-report. We do not know what all the administration did or did not do. Caleb Markham has been coaching long enough to know about the self-report issue. Maybe he was in the process of reporting and was pre-empted. Maybe he did self-report but found out in reporting that someone else already had. They guy came on board at the end of school and and Scott was dismissed within a month or so after school was out. In perspective, I would say that Caleb Markham probably handled the situation quickly and decisively and if he did not self-report, I am going to guess that he was in the process of doing so.

Temple is not trying to cover up anything or avoid any consequences. They want to get to the bottom of this as much as anyone else.

What are you saying? Wait for the facts before rushing to judgment? That's no fun! ARRRGHH GET EM!

  6. I think part of the problem on these boards is jealousy, confusion and hatred.

People are jealous of all Temple's pub and success, confused as to how a high school with 100 kids can do so well in sports, and hate them for that...if you don't admit that you have a biased you are as stupid as whoever you think is the dumbest person on this board

Yeah you're right, that is a big part of the problem. Some people on here used to have the names like "IH8TNTemple".

  7. Your post was the first I have ever called stupid.

    Great.

When you started dogging a Jr High kid with "And how stupid is that kid...." joke or not. It's not what you said but how you said it. Think first, then post

I wasn't even trying to dog the kid. I didn't even realize that it came across that way until I reread it. It wasn't my intention to be so hard on this unnamed player. I was just typing that in an off the cuff way. I didn't think anyone would take what I said so seriously. My apologies to anyone offended.

  8. You are correct he has his opinion and can post it. I also have my opinion (that it was a pretty stupid post) and I can post it also. If you want to post stupid stuff be my guest BTW what's with all the spinning flower faces ?????

I was obviously joking with this line " Mad about Temple drumming them in the State Finals and wanted to help take them down? haha..but seriously". I see that it came across like I was being hard on the kid, that wasn't my intention. That should be reserved for the coach, if it happened. And I'm not condoning practicing with another/joining another team I'm just saying; if you know it's wrong and I find it hard to believe that he didn't, then it's not smart to bring that Temple bag to school at CSAS. To simplify:

    1. If this happened this is pretty bad stuff, not something like a clerical error.

    2. I think the coach had to know it was wrong.

    3. I think the players would have to know that's wrong to do.

    4. and if you do know it's wrong and go to school with another school's bag that isn't bright.

    5. I was just wondering if these kids were recruited why would they want to go to Temple? There seemed to be a semi rivalry there(in basketball anyway) and you wouldn't want to. And also from and education standpoint, parents camp out to get into CSAS and it's free.

What exactly did I say that you had a problem with? Or are you going to just say "It's stupid."

  9. I love how America works now. It's the Oprah/Nancy Grace style of justice. And did Dr. Bouler get compared to Bill Clinton and Hitler. haha Good grief.

Anyway let's continue with the speculation(not facts):

To think part of this has to do with Temple being too cheap/lazy/lackadaisical. They couldn't even write Kevin Skogen a check to pay for his coaching services(around $3,000 something instead of $15,000) and have him turn around and write a check for Seth's tuition. And I believe Kevin when he says that. But why did he let that situation continue? Or did he keep getting put off? And as insinuated?..., if he intentionally brought that to light what were his motives? Frustrated with the incompetence? To have his State Title stripped? His region championship in football stripped?

Why don't the people insinuating/acting like they know something just say it? Is there some Omerta on here? Someone afraid they're going to be sued for something said on the internet?

The "rats" sure have jumped ship: Wadley, Skogen, Coach Templeton, Josh Templeton. Probably a bigger syptom of Temple as a whole. The school is too cheap to pay or anything/anybody(get good people to take peanuts in the name of service to God) and overall on the decline. Or perhaps some of them knew some of the issues that were going to come to light sooner or later?

I wonder about Joey at McCallie. How could the Skogen's afford to pay for that and yet want compensation at TTA? Did he get some kind of "needs" scholarship at McCallie? And was there some realtionship/agreement with that and Wadley?

The kids from CSAS being at practice for Temple while in CSAS is bad stuff. How could a coach not know that was wrong? I can't believe that at all. And how stupid is that kid, for bringing that bag to class and then answering like that? How could he know that being at one school and practicing at another wasn't wrong. And not be smart enough to be quiet about it? Mad about Temple drumming them in the State Finals and wanted to help take them down? haha..but seriously It's hard for me to imagine someone being that stupid. I'm just curious as to why anyone from CSAS would want to go to Temple, having played against them. I know it's the football team but still. Especailly their parents, trading a great education to go to Temple.

  10. QUOTE(PBG030 @ Mar 27 2007 - 11:22 AM) 826424011At least we got a graduate to come back. Usually Temple graduates go to Grace and have a hatred toward Temple.

    /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> hahaha good one.

  11. QUOTE(dadoffour @ Mar 19 2007 - 09:32 PM) 826418104I heard he and his dad are leaving Temple. The only candidate I've heard so far is Caleb Marcum, but that may not be true.

I think Josh would be a great choice too, but I've heard the same thing about him and his dad.

  12. QUOTE(IOWNYOU149 @ Mar 19 2007 - 01:28 PM) 826417685Am I wrong to say that those who vote are members of the media...???if so forget this next comment...if not then I think it is obvious...Memphis has more people than any other city so they have more representatives and more people voting...and therefore vote for their people....

That's what I was thinking as well.

  13. It's Jeremy Sexton's team for sure. That kid is good and you could tell when he was a freshman he was something special. Maybe they'll run the offense through him like they did with Caleb. Where is Coach Skogen going? Covenant? And whatever happened to Joey Skogen?

  14. QUOTE(ragincajun477 @ Mar 16 2007 - 02:41 PM) 826414331temple by 6 in a very very exciting game.

I was at Temple's homecoming game and saw them beat CSAS by over 30. It wasn't an exciting game at all. Was someone hurt or out in this 30+ loss and the 40+ loss? Have they gotten that much better?

  15. QUOTE(Grace Golden Eagles @ Mar 16 2007 - 12:30 PM) 826414224Sounds like he was the player of the game.

What did he do? I can't find any stats anywhere. All I see is the score.

Also about Arts and Sciences, I know Temple beat them by 12 for the 3A championship. And I saw them play at Temple's homecoming and get beat by 30 something. Was someone injured or out for A&S in that game?

  16. QUOTE(volman09 @ Jan 23 2007 - 12:20 PM) 826342343

In the Bible people who commited adultery would get stoned, a women confessed to Jesus of her sins she had commited and he took her to a crowd and told her to confess but she was scared and he told her it would be okay, so she confessed and before they threw stones Jesus said let the first man throw a stone who has not sinned!!!

All of you guys should read this its not word for word!! Take a look my freinds you might think twice b4 you start bashing Coach Baker!

The difference is she admitted she was wrong. Coach Kramer..er Baker hasn't done so to my knowledge. And let's not start with the whole poor coach Baker he's suffered enough thing. I'm assuming he's an educated man and should know better. Even if he thinks it's okay for him to use because he was using it against opposing players and thought his players would be okay with that or whatever. He's a grown man and will have to deal with the consquences of his actions, a few people discussing it isn't going to keep him "suffering". Like someone else said there's no reason for this, it's 2007! You get all the flack you deserve. This doesn't just come out of nowhere. This word doesn't come out of me when things don't go my way. And he says he used it to describe some behavior, their actions or whatever, I wonder if he uses the same word when some predominately white team beats his team that bad. Yeah, I don't think so.

  17. Looks like UC did the racking to me! GO TORNADOES

Dilts did the racking in the traditional meaning of the word. Did he get called for that one? There were several plays where he knocked a guy over and wasn't called for anything, I can't remember if this was one of those times.

ya'll whine and blow everything out of porportion.

This is one of the most ironic things you've ever posted.

(it was pretty miserable losing to them every year every game when you attended school at grace wasn't it?- I think it did psychological damage- may want to get that checked out)

Seriously! I've thought this many times.

He probably posted under the name "bballplayer4ever432(who only has that one post)" just so he could have an excuse to go off on his Temple hating rant. I would have rooted for Grace and felt bad when they were on the bench crying if it weren't for GraceGoldenEagles (formerly IHATETNTEMPLE) and many other Grace fans on here always being rude, nasty and hateful. But most of the other Grace fans on here are young kids in high school or middle school and at least have that as an excuse.

Grace got outcoached in the A championship game. UC absolutely could not match up with McMasters, yet they did not post him up or even run any offense through him at all. Grace's entire offenseive game plan was give the ball to Eldridge and get out of his way while he takes a HORRIBLE shot right in some guys face. He is a good player, but if he learned how to run his offense "through" the rest of the team to set up his shots he could be a VERY good player. A shame because Grace was probably the better team.

I too wondered why they weren't using him. Bad coaching move. He was almost a foot taller than the guy guarding him. And on that one move he had no trouble whatsoever posting up on the guy and scoring. He didn't seem to have any post moves but didn't need them. The defender just stood there as Carter scored on him. Then the team decided not to give him the ball down low anymore. Was that a coaching decision? Or did the seniors want to take it on their backs and try to get the win?
