1. You've gotta be kidding, right? Who cares about the score in a jv game?

YOU cared enough to read an old post....lol.....but yes

I am always curious who has the athletes.......it shows up

in jv/fresh games....usually when all fresh are playing JV teams......

so if you don't CARE DON'T READ......

  2. i like the fact that gillum put TW back in to score once again. gillum did the right thing by taking his starters out to start the 4th quarter. what i dont understand is why a veteran coach would leave his starters in when the mavs had basically called off the dogs. sure, one possession was no big deal; go ahead and get an easy touchdown. i dont mind that, but THE ONSIDE KICK was CLASSLESS! if i was the mavs coaching staff, i would have put 70 on them.

You guys are really showin some class....I had thought I would just over look some of the comments but......I guess

I will take offense.....YOU KNOW NOTHING......1st of all YOU sour grape eating people......I have been on both sides of losing.....before....take

your win and go on ......We are young we have freshmen starters and sophomores ......not making excuses but isn't it about getting better....

Central has got to get experience fast....yes there are things that are questionable but how dumb is it for your Coach to put TW back in and get

him hurt.......I am glad he came back in so we can gain more experience.....but lets just say your CLASS LESS comments are typical COW nonsense.....lol

PEOPLE......to all of the CLASSY MAVS Good LUCK you have a good team.......

  3. What's up with all the yellow flags seems the Knoxville officials haven't changed. First half Oak Ridge second half Central. But we did win in spite of them. Seems some times the way we line-up causes them to think we are putting too many men on the line.

Oh Well on to Pow ... I mean Powell.

AMEN TO THAT......and they get paid for it too....

  4. I hate to see Halls like this , I have a lot of great memories of Maryville & Halls battling it out . I like Coach Julian , but maybe some of the Halls posters are right .... may be time for a change .

Just an opinion from an outsider with inside knowledge......Halls, if they would have played fresh to seniors the past

3-4 years could have been in the playoffs with ease.....look at last years talent and the year before....better yet look at their

record from 7 yrs old and up.....just saying...

  5. I'm not sure how much (I haven't seen the map), but didn't the Broadway zone get moved further south (not by a very much), expanding Central's zone closer to Fulton?

I really didn't think so I may have to look back at the map again....I do know there

is rumor of Central dropping to 4a.....that would be interesting....

  6. Powell was a huge football "beneficiary" due to the recent rezoning. While Powell lost everything west of Clinton Highway (now zoned for Karns) and east of I-75 in the Beaver Creek Road area (now zoned for Central), they gained a ton of kids in the Merchant Drive area (west of I-75) that were formerly zoned to Central. In fact, Powell enrollment went from about 1200 to nearly 1500 after this new plan.

Central did gain some that were formerly zoned for Fulton, but they lost a lot to Powell and a few to Gibbs. Central's enrollment has definitely dropped, but with all of the potential growth in the East Beaver Creek/Dante/Sterchi Hills area, their numbers will eventually go back up.

What part of Fulton did they get? Did not see that on the map.

  7. For those who think that Halls has no talent on the offense or defense you are sadly mistaken. There is alot of talent in these boys. These boys are playing their hearts out or at least a few are, coaching at this point is killing them. Also the mind set that if you are not a senior you stay on the sidelines has got to go. We have maybe 14 boys that play the entire game. They are wearing them down to nothing. The coaches last year used the quarterback's injury as an excuse for the 0-6 start I am just wandering who will take the blame this year. We have Stansberry out and Olaughlin is limited but it should never hinge on 1 or 2 players to begin with Long and Brown have stepped up to the challenge and are doing their share of the work. The offense as it stands is not getting it done at all it has been over 9 quarters since we have had an offensive touchdown, for most teams this would be an eye opener.

I thought I saw Stansberry running around last night....Isn't he 33????

  8. I hear that due to the rezoning from a couple of years ago, a lot of the best athletes that formerly went to Fulton are now zoned for Central, which should result in an "uptick" for Central from 3-4 years ago. My info comes from a friend who lives in the area and follows Fulton.

    Any truth to that?

From what know Central's Zone decreased only so that would be a NO.

We lost every one west of 75 and south of 640.small section everything else changed for gibbs and fulton and powell..

Powell got some really good athletes from the zoning....

  9. No I did not leave early> I simply know when we are playing our starters vs our backups. Our defense played for 20 plays. That being the first 20 plays. They never returned!!!!!!!!We faced Centrals starters late with our backups. I should have said our starting defense dominated other than 1 play??? What you saw was Central running over tons of 10th graders with our starters watching. Sometimes you must open the book to read within and not judge by cover alone.

Now come on I watched who came in and out......first scrimmage and your starters only played 20..plays.....

thats ok I will let you believe what you want but get this most of our team is sophomores and freshmen....so now what do you have to say?????? lol

just having some fun its foooooootball time!!!!! lol.....I love football parents :P

  10. vier gone. Jc will run spread option. I thought they looked pretty good given that this was the first time they have committed to run this offense. They have played with the notion, but this is much different than what we saw last year. Diff look and diff players. JC's offense has many weapons. Speed, speed and then power when needed with Counts. Goins played receiver and scored on one of the few plays to him. They are putting playmakers in space and forcing teams to match up. My concern is the inexperience we have running this. That said, we will worry teams that try to cover us as we appear to have 5 players that you have to cover on every play. I think we will be much improved if we protect the ball. Defense simply dominated other that 1 play. 1 concern is that we have several players on the field on all plays. Goins, Counts, trower, Cain ect. I know thay are in good shape and they will have to be.

" Defense simply dominated other that 1 play"

Wow you must have left early because it was pretty even then Central Pulled away....I don't think

    dominated is the right word.....

  11. 38-26 Clinton horrible game by the Dragons tonight i know we had alot of player not come to the game cause of sickness but we need the players behind them to step up.... But the main thing is we won...We will have to play better to beat Powell next week...Good job by Weston I think he had close to 250 yards rushing

Stone threw for 199 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 2 more scores. Hazelhurst rushed for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns. We had about 4 or 5 players out last night because of sickness and i think it showed, especially on defense. I dont know what to say about all these penalties, except they have to stop! Most of Clinton's penalties last night were false starts, holding, blocks in the back, and illegal shifts, but Clinton needs to realize that every team they face here on out is going to bring their very best effort to try and knock us off and we have to match that intensity! I dont mean go out there and get more unsportsman like penalties and personal fouls, i mean if a team is trying to push you around the wrong way or take cheap shots at ya, turn that anger into a positive and just take it out on them on the next play......but in a legal way! You dont see championship teams with this many penalties game in and game out. I know you want to get your swagger back, but you dont have to sink to another teams level and get stupid penalties called on you to do that. Good luck and Go Dragons!!!!!!! :thumb:

Great game but do I hear Urban Meyer in these comments...lol.... :roflol:

It was a great game to watch and it was definitely a H and S offensive show for Clinton.

I was proud of Central and it wasn't a blow out...by the way nice class on last play

Good luck and beat every one else since you beat us.

  12. HTV may have more to add, but I know that Dy'shawn Mobley split varsity time at tailback as a freshman last year at Powell. This year, Montario Washington, a freshman, is splitting time with Mobley at tailback.

Powell is building for the future so that makes sense.

Now ask Maryville if they have a habit of playing any Freshman or many sophmores for that matter on varsity. Teams like Halls haven't for good reason others may not be so fortunate due to numbers.

Now why doesn't Halls play freshmen and sophomores? 0-6 what do they have to lose? Just curious

Nice Job to all of the Girls!!!!!

  15. QUOTE(luv2play @ Apr 27 2007 - 10:55 AM) 826446856I would agree that Kaela Jackson is one of the best I've seen. Not only is she a good hitter, great catcher, and team leader... but she's an all around great kid!!!! I'm sure she'll go very far in her college career.

Now, as far as Irwin goes. All the talk about her being clocked anywhere from 66-70, I'm sorry but that a stretch. If she does really throw that fast, did UT, Georgia, Florida or any of the other big colleges come talk to her? I totally agree, getting your college education comes first, but I just find it hard to believe that she throws that hard and none of these colleges have talked with her. I AM NOT taking anything away from this young lady because I haven't seen her pitch. She may be one of the best pitchers in the state, I don't know. I hope to get so see her pitch for myself with the tournaments coming up! Again, I'm not taking anything away from her, it's just kind of hard to believe.

So Why make a statement you know nothing about? All I will say is Congrats to Kandice and the other girls that work hard at something

they LOVE!!! If UT and the other SEC teams have missed out on a good thing then that is their problem. Nobody ever heard of Northwestern before

last year? Maybe UTC will be in the mix soon too.....

  16. QUOTE(fastpitch101 @ Apr 26 2007 - 12:55 PM) 82644603266 is not 68, and if a pitcher can strike out all top players they face, they should play in the SEC, Pac 10, Big 10, or Big 12. The top SEC team is right down the street from you guys.

Don't be jealous......fastpitch101.....life is to short....I have seen 68 this year and 66 was at 43 feet....you do the math...Besides why can't you be happy?

She was approached by some of those conferences but she made the choice of going to UTC because she obviously liked it there.

I am glad to see Katie Jett, Trish Mazzenso playing for ETSU and you know what (if you haven't heard) Katie went yard on

Monica......sooooo conference's don't mean nothing to me......Getting a college education and playing where you want is what Its about. Now back on Subject....

Science Hill, Morristown East are my picks from this Region

  17. QUOTE(fastpitch101 @ Apr 26 2007 - 12:12 PM) 826445996Kandice is fast but if she is throwing 68 with movement, why is she getting hit??? At the high school level????? Radar guns have a way to be adjusted up or down, they have this feature, as sometimes they can , over time , register too slow or too fast. Maybe the gun needs to be adjusted. Also if anything else is moving in the area, like a bat, it can pick up bat speed as well. Just a guess. I would guess Kandice to be at 63. Maybe 64. Truely if she was 68 with movement and control, she would have been invited to USA Junior Olympic Team tryouts in Chula Vista, Ca last August. She is an amazing pitcher, one of the best in state of her class, but I dont see her at 68 mph.

Well I have seen 3 different college guns on her and that was last summer and she was at 66 drop curve. So I guess the college guns

need to be adjusted too....Not.....Give the girl credit....oh did I mention that was at 43 feet.....hmmmm.....and let me see that was against some girls

that played on the Northwestern team that made it to the NCAA finals also some SEC Georgia girls....by the way they didn't make it on base. I think she is throwing harder than ever and you know what they say

"A blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then"....

If you stick your bat out every now and then you might get lucky..... good grief don't be jealous just honest!

As far as this topic well don't be talking about Kandice over here if you don't know the facts!!!!

Now back to the IMAC...You guys have a great Region and there are alot of talented girls that I have watched play and grow up so Good Luck to ALL of them!!!!

  18. QUOTE(ZCAR @ Apr 12 2007 - 06:47 AM) 826435662That was interesting HTV. Do you know any specific player that might be effected right away by this?

I would say that information will be top secret for at least a week Not many players will be wanting to move high schools....April 2-20 is when you can apply for transfers....don't forget

I guess that is why the school system is going to try to pass it....After looking at the maps looks like powell

will pick up some inner city prospects.......I guess Central won't have to go to 5A after all and lets see ....oh

they said if you are a junior or senior then it might not affect you.....Someone should start a thread on the rezoning

    issues......what do you all think?

  19. Will the HHS football program lose any of these versatile athletes to baseball and basketball....I know that its hard to play all 3 sports. From what I have seen most

of these up and coming athletes lean toward baseball. Just wondering

  20. Rough day for the lady rebs...even though we obviously did not give a full effort so we dont wear ourselves out for the real season.

    Thats it?......

Hey I think I saw a blind squirrel walking around over there :thumb:

Thanks Black Messiah.....your comments made it even better

Way to Go Kandice and all the girls at Central!!!!!!!

  21. Congrats to Maryville and Coach Hawkins.....

You have been a class act.....just like when you gave all of the credit to the girls.....

Good luck....and keep leading by example.....

    :)
