Okay, its driving me crazy that everyone is saying that Clevland is the fifth best team in the nation. I watched them play against kingsbury, they are not top five in tennessee, let alone the nation. Farragut, Bearden, Hendersonville, Brentwood, Ravenwood, any of those team would take care of them. Their schedule was nothing special. They are a great team, but not close to nationally ranked.

Don't let it drive you crazy...they are not. Someone ranked them this way. End of story.

They could have played there best game in 3 years and still would have lost MTF dominated the game from start to finish.

I'm not trying to bash BGA either but how many wins did they have in the region prior to that one and after that win they went three an out i think?

BGA is the the by far the best team in D2 middle.

Let me get this correct, an assistant college coach...coaches a high-school team in middle-tennesee?? Can the coach talk to his players during the recruiting "dead-period?"

jp2 1 mus 0, I am not sure how much time left. Game delayed with about 25 min left in first half. They got back on for just a few min due to weather...Game re-starts tomorrow at 1pm...I think

This game should be a classic. I will take Ravenwood 2-1 in OT. It would not surprise me if both teams end up in the state tournament no matter who wins this game.

Agreed. I am taking Ravenwood, but with the history of the Bruins, THIS is why you play the game. Should be great game....I know that both teams really think highly of each other....should be fun to watch.

bga started off really well putting two early goals (a header and a penalty) and moving the ball around really well. towards the end of the second JP2 stepped it up a notch a buried a good shot to make it 2-1. JP2 played really well in the second half and put away three goals. well played game by both teams. the score doesnt indicate how close it really was. good luck to jp2 from here on out.

First round games are Monday, assuming this weather doesn't screw everything up and it very well may. It could rain for the next three for four days straight. I'm guessing semifinals are Wednesday or Thursday, and then the championship will be Friday or Saturday. But all bets are off with this crazy weather.

The deal for Williamson County teams is that if the county shuts school down due to the swine flu, the top two seeded teams (Ravenwood and Brentwood) get the two bids to the state tournament if the district tournament is stopped before the championship game is played, even if either of the top two seeded teams have lost prior to that in the quarter or semi finals.

 

I'm not sure if the other districts have adopted this.

 

Does anyone know anything about the situation for the D2 Middle Region because MBA is no longer allowed to play their semifinal game for the Middle region on Tuesday...?

I kinda get it If they get to round games where one of the top two loose...they still advance..I would rathe see a team that knocked out a 1 or 2 advance..

As far as the MBA situation, I would do this if nothing changes before Sunday.

Schedule 2nd round games 7 days from cancellation of all sports for MBA, so they would have a chance to

play if nothing else changes.

Today I heard, at least in 11AAA that no if schools in our district close, then the top 2 regular season teams will advance; even if the tournament starts and then our school system shuts down and ravenwood or brentwood has been beaten, both teams will advance no matter what; that's what I understand at this point

This makes no sense....maybe I just don't get it.

Riverdale starts at least 4 freshmen every game and they have 3 or 4 who come off of the bench. They only have 2 seniors on the entire varsity squad.

The forecast is showing rain every day for the next 7 days. That means a couple of things:

 

1.) The Portland v. White House game will be played under wet conditions

 

2.) at least part of the district tournament will be muddy

 

Any thoughts on how this will affect either of these situations?

best team will win..Soccer has morfed closer to golf. Soccer games are

cancelled all the time. Football games are played come heck or high-water. Why is this?

not going to correct you nepta, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But i think playing oak ridge, christian brothers, independence, bearden, science hill along with their rivals and district opponents makes a pretty strong schedule. just my opnion.

All I have to say is this. If the MT Fire beats Farragut (and I believe they can) or even ties or keeps it close then everyone on this post should know they could have possibly played for a state title in 3A if they had been allowed. I would also believe that the Fire probably have one of the toughest strength of schedules of any team in the state.

Score maybe. Outcome...not at all JP2 was able to put the ball in the net, this is

the exception not the rule for the game we all love, I was impressed with the Defense that they are

back to full strength for the first time this year...Can they remain healthy, Depth is part of the game and it is their weakness.

good team, not great. Gave up 4 goals to HHS. HHS is a good team, but at this point in the season, they are not what we are used to seeing. Things could change. Russ is very good at what he does.
