no but i will try and keep you posted on them, i will ask some of the martin guys on monday when madison plays them if they would like to have a team this year again and maybe you could get some at least decent players(try hard to get some club material players) and go play in martin... ill ask for ya if you would like some help playin

west tennessee select will not have a team this year probably because they lost 4 seniors and one other player... they just wont have enough players is what is said right now. i played for them this year, if they do have a team you need to play, its loads of fun and a great group of guys

Do you not think enough players could be gathered to play? I'm just really looking for someone to play with so I can get some more experience and hopefully a little more exposure as I am hoping to play college after I graduate. You got MSN or anything?

Is there anyone on these boards that played for West Tn. Select last year? I was supposed to go to the try outs last summer but I got caught up in football and didn't have any time to play. I was wondering if you guys got a keeper for this summer or if you were still looking.

I just wanna say great game to everyone involved. Lake County has a class team and class fans. There was hardly any trash talking on the field at all, and thats the way it needs to be. Good luck to Lake Co. the rest of the year.

West Carrol has pretty decent speed...The quarterback has a good arm and their best running back seemed to be a taller player..If I remember,he seemed to be about 6 '2..West Carrol defense is pretty good..Lake just happened to get outside on them several times and hurt them the night we played..But they do have a good team,one that on a given night could beat a lot of good teams..They could be one of those teams that even though you beat us once..we see what you do and the next game they may make some adjustments and be a tougher game..And they play hard the whole game..I think South Fulton can burn them on the outside though..

They have two good backs, #44 Dustin Seay and #86 Karl Erwin. Dustin is a power runner that will get tough yards while Karl can do that but also has the big play ability. Their line is big and good.

this was just a perimeter scrimmage, so there was no contact or lineman involved...

the guy you went to camp with was sturat taylor and yes he is more like 6'2 to 6'3 than 6'1......he should have a good year, especially on defense...

I went to a camp at UTC with a wide receiver from Dyersburg. I don't remember the name, but he was probably around 6'2-6'3 and was pretty talented. He also said he was one of the few seniors on the team. Hows he doin?

I talked to him (Hchskeeper) last night and told him about the tryouts for the West TN Select team, and I'm pretty sure he's gonna play for them. Correct me if I'm wrong about the tryout times. July 5th and 7th at 6:00 P.M. right?

Why are you so worried about what people on CoachT think of your team? Including spring practice, I've seen about 15 or so threads started by you about Hampton or its players. I'm guessing you view the fans opinions highly... but as a fellow player, it doesn't matter squat what they say on here. I'm glad a lot of my team doesn't read these boards, it would only needlessly worry them. Don't worry so much about what they say on here...

PK's begin with a group of 5 from each team, alternate shot.  If still tied after all ten kicks, then it is one kick each until one makes and one misses.

 

Also, not all 5 from each time have to kick for it to end.  For instance team A makes their first three kicks, team B misses their first three, it's over since team B cannot win no matter what the 4th and 5th kickers do.

I was told when we played McNairy Central and we almost got into the PK's that it went with 5 shooters from each team, and if tied after those shooters, 5 more came out. Then, if all was still tied after 10 kicks for each team, 5 more came out, and so on. Also, no kicker could be used twice. That way you had to clear your bench as well if it got that far. Then, if it was STILL tied after everyone had kicked once, you start over. I was told this personally by a referee that explained his qualification to me MANY times.

Well for your info this is john and ,no offense to BJ Buck, but the only reason he scored was because he was in the right place when your goalie screwed up.  As for #3 i just said that to see your reaction and it was quite funny, you were very defensive.  The reason i couldn't get past him was because i play defense, therefor did not get to compete with him and since i play defense i do know a lil somethin about it.  The only reason you guys tied us was because you have like five people on defense and your whole midfeild played defense most of the game. Your strikers didn't do anything the whole game.  i think they had what maybe 2 shots besides the PK. but whatever we tied so that is not saying much about our team.  All in all i thought #3 was the best player on your team and probably does deserve some recognition.

We had four on defense, and a mainly defensively minded midfield, but the only reason they were mainly defensive minded is because Lexington attacked a lot. You had a lot of shots on goal so they needed to get back to make sure people were marked up. Danny is good, and I'm glad you're giving him the recognition he deserves, but it won't matter until the system is changed. By the way, we only had one true striker, the rest were midfield.

in my oppinion #3 just flat out stinks.

Well from reading your other posts you're obviously one of the three that signed with Union, but your not Brian Jones because you mentioned him in another post. Therefore you must be Michael Lee or John Hawley, neither of which ever got past #3. The ONLY person on your team that could say anything negative, although I'm fairly sure he wouldn't, would be BJ Buck, because he is the only one that was good enough to score. Don't talk crap about someone you couldn't have beat.

The tryout dates for the west TN select team in Martin are: July 5th and July 7th at 6:00.

Thanks a ton. Any more info.. such as where they are located? I'm assuming Martin's field but I'd rather be sure than to show up at the wrong field.

Unfortunately due to the seeding (that determines how many players from each team make All-District) McKenzie will not be represented on the All-District Team since they were seeded last.

And I don't care who knows this, this is not a practice that I concur with and am making efforts to get this system changed. And before anything is said, I started this movement in the fall during the girl's season.

In my opinion, that is some major crap! You can say all you want about how great players make teams win, but each team has players that deserved to be recognized. Danny Turner, #3 for McKenzie, is one of those players.

Without a doubt. A very good keeper. He is only a sophmore. Very good player.

 

His credit is due. Also, number 3 for them plays a mean defense.

lol, Thanks, I do what I can. About #3, Danny is the man! He's saved me more times than I can count this year, and its gonna be tough to replace him next year.

Hold up hold up... I'm glad that someone on my team has confidence, thats great and all, but to talk like this after the way we played against McNairy? I don't see how you think we're gonna contend with Madison if we play with that same intensity as we did Saturday morning. By the grace of God we got outta that game with a win, but we better play 15 times better than that to win tommorrow. Madison is a good team, everyone on our team knows that (Including whoever started this thread) and none of us are underestimating them, so don't take the confidence of one player as a representation of our whole team. Anyway, hopefully we'll play like we're capable of tommorrow and come out with what many people will feel is an upset.
