Thanks! The numbers being the way they are, obviously one of the #2’s has to get a first round bye at state, but why does this privilege go to the West?
It rotates every year.
Middle will get it next year.

I just looked at their scores: http://www.coacht.com/tennessee/inside/schedule.cfm?schoolid=70&sportid=10&seasonid=325
They do like scoring some goals. Might make some noise in D1 A. I'll be interested to see a match up against Grace...

May the 4th be with you (conspiracy theory edition)
Now that the "evil" regime of the private schools has been banished through the TSSAA rules wormhole to an alternate universe, the expected peace of public republic is challenged by a new dark lord who gathers their forces from throughout the counties they call home - Lord Magnet . Just like before they only whisper his name in dark places and fear rules again. Year after year the AA finals are Hume Fogg vs Murfreesboro Central Magnet and A is only shared between CSAS, MLK, Merrol Hyde, and the Memphis magnets.
Alas their was one dark Knight of the old realm, Grace (Franklin), who failed to be sucked into the new rule universe and foiled this new dark Knight's fantasy. (Yes Big G I looked at their resume and Grace has to be the favorite in A if they play as well as you say - wow!)
PS I'm sticking with Boyd to go all the way even if CCS manages to suprise them in the next two rounds like they just did Baylor.
You also forgot the evil wizard "OPEN ZONED SCHOOL"-demort.
Ha ha.
I wouldn't be surprised if Grace didn't "mercy rule" 2 of their state games.
In fall of 2019 they will be with us in our region.

Best White House team we have seen in a while. The first half was pretty much all WH (their midfield and overlapping backs did an outstanding job with possession). Definitely on our heels.
We were fortunate for the win. The game could have gone either way.
I still predict (and now even more strongly) that they will go to the finals.

CAK lost in district semifinals tonight. Does that mean they’re done? Or does division 2 do some weird format?
It means they face the winner of CCS and Boyd.

Should be a good one at the House tonight. CPA brings in an 11-1-2 record to face a White House team having won 7 straight. This will be last tune up for both teams prior to beginning their run at titles.
Ya'll come on out and buckle up. Some good soccer is on tap...
Looking forward to a great match tonight! Thankfully the rain has stayed away!

Grace (Franklin) will roll to the finals (in my opinion). Some of the most talented young players I have seen in a long time. Alcoa will give them a match, though I hope it isn't until the finals.
White House and Greeneville for AA.
D2 AA should probably be Baylor, MCallie or MBA (though I give the nod to McCallie if they are healthy).
I'm staying out of D2 A (though Boyd is making some noise and the teams out west are tough!).
And I havne't really followed AAA

I haven't seen it comfirmed but I believe we play CPA and Ensworth in out of district games? Also have finally found a way to play Mt Juliet after not getting a game signed for the last four years.
Those three will be fun ones to look forward to. Maybe Coach G will deploy a new exotic defense to stop the former all state forward who's being moved to centerback?
So.... your centerback is going to come up in the attack? SWEET! Betts and Thorne will have a field day.

Thank you so much sir. You gave a wonderful response and I appreciate it.
Oh, what did you mean Bearden is out of the Region? Are they in the English Premier League now? LOL
No. If I remember correctly, they are in a different district now.

This question is directed to Big G. How is Oak Ridge looking for this season? How do they stack up in their District and then Region? Thanks, I ask you because I know you know what is what.
It's always hard in a transition year (from one coach to a new coach). However, I don't think they could have hired anyone better than Gorman.
I know (and coached) several of those boys, who are now seniors. They have the potential to do really well. I think it just depends on whether or not they buy into what Gorman is "selling". The man proved he can do it with what he did with Alcoa in 2009 in developing a great program (which now has their first A state title).
Competing in his district is probably a one or two game "must win". His region is a bit harder, but with Bearden being out of it, it does open it up a bit. I'm really not sure what Farragut, Maryville, or HV have, so the will be interesting to see.
I liked how they bounced back against South Doyle. They were down 0-1 and then won 3-1. Show character and grit. Great goal by Nigh, as well.
Time will tell. It will also help when their field dries out so that they can train on it!

So who are the teams to beat with all the new alignments?
In AA, White House lost one starter and return 10 starters, have 9 senior starters, and four 4-year senior starters. Have a couple of lingering injuries but they should be back in about 3-4 weeks. I like the way we look and the focus these young men have through 2 scrimmages. Not to wish the season away, but I sure am looking forward to senior night match with CPA, finally a CPA/WH match without season over consequences.
How is everyone else looking...
So true. So true!
We actually were talking about this yesterday. That sectional match was always a "who can avoid White House"!
Glad we are continuing the competition.
The boys should make a great run. Now your job is to avoid Page (well, and Greeneville)!

USNs Courtney Rabb is a great player and will continue her career at Harvard if the rumors I heard are correct. Super impressive player and family.
I too thought Patti at CAK was good. Feisty and talented player.
BGA got their GK on the team and I'm not familiar with their forward?
I also wish they'd do Div 2A and Div 2AA teams. Getting kids recognition is great for them and their programs.
So Coach G are these teams full of kids that coaches wouldn't have recommended? How do the sports writers compile them? It seems like all four areas got players on the team.
BGA had an outstanding and creative 8th grader, who I was really impressed with.
I wouldn't say that these girls wouldn't have been recommended (also, hard to say about some as I didn't see them). The girls from Briarcrest were excellent.
I just feel that, by only having ONE All State team, you have cut the deserving girls by HALF of what it should have been.
You can't have a team for each classification of Division 1 and then go "heck, let's just throw all of Division 2 into one team".
I even reached out to the Tennessean but I got ZERO response. Not even a "thank you for your inquiry".
-
I know there is no easy way to do this all state team, HOWEVER to lump all of Division 2 into ONE team isn't right.
Some of the most talented teams across the state were in Division 2 A, and several girls from Division 2 AA were left off because of being pooled into one squad.
Honeye Hedari isn't even in high school (she plays for Union). I am assuming they mean her sister.
USN had the regional player of the year (and WELL deserved) and not a single spot for USN.
Emily Patti (CAK Lipscomb signee) was outstanding this year.
BGA had a very talented forward (though she was young).
When I am working on the All State teams with the THSSCA, if I don't know a lot about a region, I contact coaches in that region to find out. Knoxville used to do this when they were making their teams. Reporters would call coaches and get input.
Now, the newspapers don't even cover our games (even our scores).
