  1. Bauber, I always know that the season has started, because you get into arguements with current MUS students. As a member of both the 04 and 05 state teams, I wish yall the best of luck this year. Many of yall know who i am, so this is my only post for the year. Michael, good luck with neely, I know youll miss looking at that line you had last year. But Im picking MUS due to discipline and a sound overrall game, hopefully see you in November in the state game for a three-peat. And also remember coach burr looks at this religiously, so watch the comments....

  2. Dang, Henry how much are you paying this guy? But one thing you must remember, if MUS stinks soo badly then why did we generate enough offense to lose to MBA by one the first time and eventually beat them the second time? If you look at the 2006 to the 2005 team, you notice we lost our top three scorers (gibson, sawyer, noel) and this year we had two middies trying to play attack and a sophomore. In my eyes they did one heck of a job to adjust from the superstar offense to what we had this year. Our team was young and all ive got to say is we return 9 out of 10 guys who atone point started throughout the year. So it will be interesting next year

  3. I know there is alot of talk about Tom Jackson, but what about Garrott McClintock, the dpole from MUS? He held cahill to two goals over two games, and he held colpini to two (i believe). And has been a solid defender all year usually taking care of the opponents best attackman.

  4. First let me start things of with apologizing for the comments made by lax08 and #22 because obviously the are young kids on our team. But even though we did graduate gibson from our team does not mean we are screwed. I actually feel alot more confident about our team now that we dont rely on just one person anymore. the main question of our team is goalie, and jason daniel is doing a pretty good job adjusting, but rainer left some huge shoes to fill. and remember may is along time away and anything can happen such as injuries and what not. see you in may fellas

  5. Coach Massey was probably one of the top assistant coaches in the state of tennessee. After coming from his head coaching job in brownsville, he came to coach an offense to back to back state titles. so i believe he will do an incredible job, and even though im an mus student i wish him the best of luck. he will be strongly missed

  6. alright eastmem, as a member of the offensive line, i do not apprecaite what you are saying about our team. You are only downgrading us to make us look like fools. And since I started in the MBA game, I would remember a sack. To your disappointment we did not give up a sack, and we have numerous plays where park runs out of the pocket. So i'de appreciate a little credit my friend, since you do associate yourself with MUS. As for the game this friday, It will be a war; both teams are great and hopefully one of us will bring home a gold ball this year. But for spartans and all the other cbhs guys out there, best of luck to yall, and Ill see you on the field

  7. i thought that this thread was about the MUS-BA game this year. Why are we talking about the baylor game last year or about ryan burns, that was all last year. Yea michael is a good quarterback, but everyone has room for improvement till November 19th in Murfeesboro. Best of Luck to both teams. Bauber no need to start a war with any high school kids, i mean come on your in college dont you have better things to do?

  8. Ill go ahead and say it...Kevin Cooper will run all over MUS.  I think at MUS, they win, but the trip will be too much and Cooper will have a huge game.

stats from the game: Tyler Massey - 20 rushes for 101 yards, Kevin Cooper 9 rushes for 36 yards

  9. Actually man I havent seen MUS play once this whole year.  I got called up to training camp and did not get redshirted and I have been running backup center since camp although the center ahead of me is an all american and a senoir haha hes really good and a great guy to learn from but I have listened to a few MUS games on the radio while traveling.  My dad has seen them play also he says basically the same thing their defense is amazing bc they know exactly what they are doing and are just flying to the ball while the offense is having a hayday in the air but lacks the running game from last year. They are huge but awfully slow from what my dad says.  They have a hard time sticking it in from the short yardage in the redzone by running the ball.  The competition seems a little down this year though so I think they have a good chance to take another gold ball home.

I would not say we are that slow but we are still coming together marc, give us time. we all get our blocks, and we have definately improved our speed at the tackles. and also we are getting better in the redzone.

  10. Well I think Andrew Gordon is the man but sorry Resnor has some big shoes to fill!!  ;)

Sorry Purnell, we miss your "damian" type attitude, so i guess i cant fill your shoes completely.

  11. mccallie has won 7 of the last 10. i am pretty sure we are not overrated.

I never said yall were overrated b/c we are split 5 to 5 over the last ten years

  12. What the heck is the deal with all the bashing of MUS. Jason Lewin played at University of Tennessee, and no he isnt overrated, but it doesnt matter to yall because everyone from MUS is overrated, I know we havent won one in two years, but we did win 5 of the last 8 state championships. so i definately dont think that we are overrated.

  13. i'm sure i'll get blasted for this but it should have been a blowout for mccallie, but ranier, who is an average goalie at best, came up pretty big on one on one shots and kept the game close. he picks off a lot of passes, which keeps teams from getting shots off, but he is not a solid stopper and is weak in the clearing game. doesn't communicate at all. shouldn't have been first team or second team all state.

from a coaching perspective thought gibson was very overrated. jackson did a good job stopping him but not having size is going to hurt him at the next level. this kid should have been on the weights a long time ago b/c the guys at notre dame are going to have a strength advantage over him. i might be impressed if mus would have actually played some quality teams out of state like mccallie and mba did. it would have shown how good gibson really is playing against top teams from up north and in the south. pretty easy to score 80 plus points when you schedule games against d2 teams.

I am biased, but i believe that you are very wrong. Rainer is by far the best goalie in the state, and gibson is definately not overrated, because if he were then why the heck is going to play at notre dame? And about the quality teams...we did snap lassiter's 32 game win streak the day after beating mccallie. A year ago we beat highland park and islip high school from new york. Mccallie is a very very good team (obviously they won state) but im sorry you are wrong on whole aspect of your reply.

  14. Henry man...calm down. Jason will be filling Jimbo's shoes, but it will take time he has alot of room to fill. You cannot throw him into his first game and expect much, except maybe ###### his pants. But i believe he will slowly evolve into a great goalie. but give him time...And also bout the all american thing you never know who will get it until the season so i wouldnt say that there arent any players on MUS. look forward to another great year hopefully itll go our way next year.
