OK 26, I don't know who you play week 3, but it won't be my team. I aint had a team in many years and my only staff are grandkids. When I was coaching, the men coaching had integrity. And paid their dues in the system before moving up.
And at 50+, I aint too tired, just refuse to be part of what metro has now become.
You can have it. I still know what's going on in metro, and I know your history. You are pretty good at staying alive somehow. Your Hillsboro scenario, your grappling at Springfield, ... but you want to criticize others.
I dont know how to call you, wouldnt if I did. Call me if you figure how, but its long distance.

TooSicks those are some harsh statements. I like it. It was a no brainer the past season, Maplewood. In the past few seasons, the consistency is with Antioch.

Dre, you're just wastin' space on this message board. Maplewood did y'all in twice, even after y'all added players to the team that weren't on there for the first game, and it still didn't matter! I'm sure y'all have talent with all them kids at y'all school, but until y'all get a staff that knows what to do with it, y'all in trouble! Casey Smith is not the answer. He should have stayed at Gra-Mar Middle School were all you need is the best athletes to be successfull! He's a joke!!!!!
Ralph, stay off of criticizing others like Casey Smith. It aint his fault he dont have an uncle to save him from getting fired, then a couple years later give him a job he didnt deserve!!! Besides, he aint allowed to recruit at HL like your crooks at Maplehood. Do you have any more 20 year olds playing?
You cant coach. You got Woods and the little loud mouth volunteer to recruit, and Coach Armstrong to do the coaching. You have ONE good season and you think you are a coach. You are the joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whether you want to admit it or not in this lifetime you do sometimes have to look out for good ole #1 because if you don't then nobody else out there will do it for you. If coaches do get on here and talk themselves up then I'm glad for them. Lord knows that some of them get bashed on enough on this website (ie William Johnson and Mac McCurry).

Just wandering, do they check eligibility in Marshall County? That could put a damper on Johnson's success if he has to play only eligible players - such was not the case at Stratford.

First of all, Gallatin has one of the best high school football traditions in the South. I've watched GHS teams play since Coach Barron was the head coach. They have always played hard, tough football, and have been greatly successful.
Last year, McGavock reported Gallatin to the TSSAA. The TSSAA ruled that Shipley had been playing illegally. Gallatin forfeited wins in which Shipley participated.
*McGavock was wrong for not reporting the possible violation earlier
*Shipley's family was wrong for providing false information (address, ...)
*Gallatin was wrong for allowing the kid to participate without calling his previous school
*The AAU summer basketball people that influenced the move was wrong - Shipley left McGavock for basketball reasons anyway
*TSSAA was wrong for allowing Shipley to play now. Since when does an ineligible player not have to sit out for one calendar year?
The Gallatin faithful who condemn all metro schools are idiotic.
McGavock didn't take anything from your team last year. Your basketball coach's greed did. Your football coach's arrogance did. How can you allow a kid to participate that played somewhere else the season before without fully verifying his eligibility? Because the basketball coach and football coach felt they were above the rules. Had they merely called McGavock when Shipley arrived, no problem would have occurred.
Finally, when you green folk roll into Donelson Friday, behave yourself, or you may wind up in a place you won't like - the METRO JAIL!

Gallatin's defense was incredible. They would have shut out any team I've seen with that effort.
OK, if Shipley's not the best player, then RC Smith may be. He controlled Odigie all night. He is emotional. He is tough. He is mean. He pancakes enough people to work for IHOP.
Coker, at full speed, would not have made enough difference last night for Antioch to win. The problem is Adams at QB is weak. You can't be one dimensional and defeat Gallatin with that defensive effort.

Shipley is playing great for Gallatin. He was the difference against Antioch offensively.
What kind of numbers can he put up against McGavock?
Pretty nice ending to a weird story in the making for Shipley.
Seems Lassiter was reluctant at first to make Shipley THE man for Gallatin. He is clearly that now, even though he gets little credit, guess cause he's still an outsider.

They only won two games, and have forfeited them. They had two ineligible players. They had a player ejected last week. Their QB quit in the middle of the game last week.
What's going on over there? Has Coach Fitz lost control?

I guess I'm just cynical and old, 26. I just view the Garcia era with much contempt. With all the magnets and transfers and such, I just dont like it. Im too old school. I liked knowing where kids were going to school. Now it seems HS coahes either recruit or lose. 26 - if all your staff is recruiting is your own, then more power to you. I was defending a young coach Ive heard is good and attacked you for attacking him.
Big Country, yea I coached in metro for 30+ years, mostly at a blue school.
