Your right yall won the game. Everyone involved with Central Football will give you that, Just dont get on here and poor mouth anybody on the team as if yall are all knowing. I would say this though I wish Coach Jones would Have opted to move up to 5A, so at least we could have the possibility of playing this great game twice!

  2. Well, Let me add a few things to make this conversation a little bit more pointed.

    1. To all of the Ooltewah fans that get on here and post all this crap about we wish the PUDS well and this and that. I always find it very funny that in each post some one always throws a jab in about how they could do this better or that better. Do us all a favor and go by the old saying, if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all.

    2. Also, I find it very interesting how every one that posts on here from hooterville has the same negitive thing to say about Brent Hayes. That he is too slow and that he wont play MLB in college. Please let me in on the recuirting pipeline that you guys have to the inside track so we can send all of the area talent to you guys so you can rate them for every college that comes calling to hamilton county.

    3. The thing that really chaps my as_ is that not one of you guys on here know what all Brent has over come in the past 2 football seasons to continue to play the game that he loves. I mean my gosh this guy had a total knee reconstruction, Not just an ACL, He had it all rebuild, ACL-MCL-PCL, and not to mention having to battle a very serious staff infection that caused the DR's to have to go back in one week after the surgury and clean up everything again. Yeah it took a few games for Brent to get his swagger back, And not one time during the regular season have you ever heard Brent or any of the coaches us any excuses about his knee or long recovery.

    4. For all of you nay sayers Brent was running a consistent low 4.6 with slowest being a 4.64 prior to his injury. So dont get on here and feed me or anyone else a line of bull or sugest that Brent hayes is slow. Because if Brent is as slow as you sugest the your boy Caldwel must not be that fast either, There were several times in the first half of the Owls game that brent caught Caldwell going out side. Oh yeah I almost forgot to add Cladwell is not as fast as you think since the only time he did have a breakaway run verse the Pounders he was run down Buy Jamel Hambrick.

    5. Finally, I am going to get off of my soap box buy adding to the Pounders and Brent especially. Use these last two games as if they are the last two that you will ever play and show all of the doubters in the Tennessee Valley just what you are made of and just how good you are going to be playing when Play-off Time rolls around.

In closing I will make the following statement, to all that care to listen. The Purple Pounders Will be playing in the State Playoffs, and they have a good shot to play for quite awhile. I'm Out........

  3. Well Focus On This Friday!

Did You Ever Win a State Title In Any Sport?

Are You Still Alive For a Playoff Berth?

    If So....

    What Seeds Can You Be?

central won about 9 or 10 state titles in a span of about 15 years during that time.

yes we're still alive for a berth, we just have to win out, and let everything else take its toll to finish anywhere from 3rd to 5th.

  4. Ben,

As a outside observer that has ben following THE PURPLE POUNDERS, for the last couple of seasons there is just one thing that I would like to point out to you that you seem to hve missed the boat on. I am saying this because it would seem that you do indeed have a knowledge of high school football being that you are on the top of the leader board for the Big One's Contest. You have pointed out and refered to the CHS vs. Hixson jamboree several times. Each time you mention how the mighty wildcats pasted the Pounders 17-0. Let point out how much you really don't know. In that game Hixson did have an awsome first play I beleive Swafford took a keeper to the One Yardline, Then your team fumbled it on the one yardline when Brent "THE HIT MAN" Hayes knocked the P*ss out of Adam Owens. The next three series that Central had the ball they went for 4 fourth down conversions inside there own 30 yardline, they only converted on one of those. The other three led to Two hixson TD's and a FG. Know lets examine why they would do such a crazy thing like that. It is called getting young untested offensive players addittional snaps under game conditions. With that being said yes Hixson is a weel coached athletic team, but if you really think they can dominate THE PURPLE POUNDERS, just ask Cleveland Blue Raiders who has the better team. Friday night Central's QB had 198 yards ruhing, And I'm not 100% sure but I think that is more yards than Ya'll had all night as a team. With that being said keep up the good work in your friday night picks, and oh By the way, Forget about placing any picks on Black, and go with THE PURPLE HUBRIS. By the way Hubris means Pride! Oh, and one other thing on a serious note what has happened to Swafford is he not playing QB anymore?

  5. Well let me just say this to all of the people that doubt the the Purple Pounders, When Central wins out the rest of there three games they will finish in second place in the region, and have another Home Play-off Game. Also when Central wins out and if East Ridg were to some how lose the last two region games Then Central would be the Region Champs. If you don't beleive me then just sit back and watch the magic happen. Hubris!!!!!!

  6. I am very pleased to see all of the positive comments made toward both teams. I will say this since Gatewood has arrived at OHS the program has done nothing but rise, Just as Central has done under Jones. With that being said I will not make a prediction based on score, But I will point out a few key points. Number 1: If the Owls are able to get their ground game going they are tough. Central must force Woods to beat them with his arm. Number 2: If the Pounders are able to play a full game and eliminate the TO'S and dumb penalties, they will be able to make a game of it. Number 3: OHS has the edge in the special teams, But if Central can eliminate mistakes and make up some ground here it will be a plus.

All in all I look for a good clean battle that is fought until the end, the winner will be the team that does not put themselves in hole early. GOODLUCK to both teams.

  7. Let's get one thing straight, yes Central has struggled on both sides. As of right know they are avg. right over 400 yards a game on offense. The have given up a grand total of 420 yards of offense to their oppenents. You may have the better team this year, But I will guarantee to every one that reads this post CENTRAL WILL HIT OOLTEWAH RIGHT IN THE MOUTH AND CONTINUE TO HIT THEM IN THE MOUTH ALL NIGHT. And after we get done win or lose every one in Chattanooga will know who the best running back is and who is the best linebacker. WAO.

  8. Hey Russ,

Get your facts straight Brent played until the Tyner Game last year. Up until the second half of the Ryner game Brent had like 79 Total tackles on the season. (That Like 4 1/2 Games). If you need more info than that go to the photo gallery section of the page and look up Chattanooga Central, There are several pic's of our leader kicking Butt.

  9. Chatt. Central has a very poor visitors side. The bleachers actually collapse last year! I don't know if it is fixed now, though?

    Flipin,

You are correct Chatt. Central's Visitor's side is horrible. But they are only closed from the fifth row up, they did not fall or collapse last year. They did however collapse like 5 years ago, and were fixed then.

As we speak the parents and the community are trying to find away to raise the funds to repair them on their own, since the county spends all of the money at your school and Soddy!

    later.
