  3. I can see that Stacey Carter, probably the best coach in upper East Tennessee, has firmly embedded himself in the heads of some on here. I love it. Even a Maryville beat down can't take the shine off a great year for SH. 3-3 now. Can't wait till next year.

I can't wait either.  Because SH losses Malik, who made the SH offense.  The best team SH has had, against a down overall DB team.  At least when DB is good, they can hang with Maryville for close to 3 quarters (as they did in 2012) and beat the best private schools (like MBA).  SH fans are going to have a reality check in 2014 as Malik takes away everything that made the offense go.  You guys think you have a top 10 team in 6A?  No, it is just that DB is down and you had a lucky game against a BA team that was asleep (after killing SH in 2013, why should they have worried).  When DB is at their best, at least they don't lose by 45.  Lets, be honest here, Bradley Central at 5-5 took you the distance at home,  Elizabethton (1/3 SH size) was right there with SH for a good portion of this year's game, TN High almost beat you, DB game 1 saw SH almost lose after being up by 21, DB stinks it up in game 2 and somehow SH fans(best season in their  modern history)  think they had a special team.  Even in 2009 when DB was 5-6 they played Maryville (without DB's star rb Chris Sensabaugh) closer than SH.

  4. Just a dominating performance from Maryville yet again. If you all don't win another championship this year I'll be shocked. IMO easily the best team in the state.

As for SH, nothing to hang your heads about. You had one heckuva season and should be proud of all you've accomplished on the field this year. To the Seniors, back-to-back District 1-AAA Champions. 3 wins in a row over DB. You worked hard and it showed. Thanks for giving your all as a Hilltopper and making JC proud.

Will be glad to get Malik, Mikey and Rashad on the basketball court now. Go Toppers!

You can't say they are easily the best team in the state.  Ensworth was the last team to manhandle Maryville in an all out scrimmage last year.  Science Hill put too much stock in the BA win.  BA overlooked SH because they ate SH alive in 2013.  Also SH has an offense that just happened to test BA's weakness.  Repeat the SH vs BA game again, and BA wins by 3 TD's easy.

  5. AlcoasPaintedBridge,

Science Hill has their best season ever, so they by default know everything and are superior in every way.  Just bow down for now and they will have mercy.  Until this time next week, then you can call them out.  Or next year @BackToEarth.

    And Aussie,

Don't you dare ever mention the words Butt hurt and anything Johnson City related.  That is your areas expertise.

  6. Science Hill can't play with anyone.  That BA game gave you big heads.  BA destroys Science Hill in 2013 and overlooks The Hill in 2014.  Just like The Hill overlooked 5&5 Bradley Central this year and almost lost  I can't wait for Maryville to bring you guys back down to earth.  DB had a better offense in 2012 than Science Hill does now.  And that includes Carter's ego score run up tactics

  7. Heck no, don't let up. Would you?

    Let the crying begin!!!

What it comes down to is Continuous Clock and Carter was the best coach on the field. In Fact, with what he has accomplished, no doubt he IS the best coach in Upper East Tennessee and a classy guy.

One great year with a super star QB does not make Carter the best coach by any means.  Science Hill will be in for a rude awakening next year.  If you think Carter is the best coach or that he is classy, you probably snorted too much of that meth up there in East TN.  The funniest part about Science Hill's win tonight over their rival during their best season ever is.........nobody cares, not even your own fans as evidenced by the poor turnout.  At DB cold and rain does not mean a poor showing during a key home game.  Before you think that I care (because I don't) the only reason I replied is to point out what I knew would happen;  One good year and Carter is a God and Science Hill is all of  a sudden the best and their fans (the few that care) are experts.  Next year will be fun watching you lose to DB.  Please save and reference this post for the 2015 game because I am 100% certain.

  8. There were no bad calls. DB got one first down in second half and that on a fake punt. DB had 90 yds rushing at half, 89 for the game. DB had 30 total yards in second half. DB looked slow.

There were no bad calls. Just a dominating performance.

I can promise you that Science Hill overall is no faster than DB.  When DB had Malik Foreman, Science Hill looked slow.  McGue make everyone look slow.  Don't get cocky because it won't matter vs Maryville.  The Hill will not be the same next year without McGue.  Refs missed several personal fouls including taunting on Science Hill.  Yet DB had several personal fouls?  Nope sorry, there were some missed calls.

  9. Foreman was very good. I didn't really get to see him play much as I moved back to JC when he was a Senior but I remember him. From what I've been told, everyone knew McGue was going to be good. This good? I'm not sure, but certainly knew he had the talent to end up being a very good player. He was already showing flashes of being something special at WR and returning kicks when he was a Freshman. He had to wait his turn behind Hayes at QB though. I remember last year a lot of people where concerned about the QB position. I think it took all of one game for those concerns to disappear. Next year, the QB position will be in good hands once again. Junior QB/RB, Justin Bedard, is impressive. He'll remind you a little more of Hayes. He doesn't have the elusiveness McGue has but he's a big kid with a strong arm. He's also proving to be quite the bruiser when he tucks the ball and runs with it

I hear you Aussie.  I know Science Hill has some talent coming up.  DB does too.  I like the bigger QB's that have cannons as arms.  I am just really sold on the smaller, extremely fast QB's, with decent arms right now.  I feel like they can make a team the most dominating they can be.  Broken plays turning to first downs.  A QB slashing for 50 yards.  Roll out passes, you name it.  Speed makes thing happen.

  10. I know Autin Peay can be added to that list and MTSU will come soon.  I think many schools will recruit him as an athlete.  You know it is crazy because at DB, Foreman was not the starter at QB until the starter went down with injury versus Sevier County.  When Foreman took over,  I can't remember seeing more play making made from speed from a QB at DB.  People were nervous after the starter went down, but Foreman had our offense scoring several more TD's a game easy.

  11. Yes. Don't get me wrong, Hayes was a very good QB but he couldn't make things happen with his legs like McGue can. Reed had a better arm but he didn't have that elusiveness that Malik has.

The elusiveness is what makes McGue the best.  He won't play QB at a major college because of his size, but will probably have the option to play another position.  In my opinion (say what you want) but guys like Foreman and McGue at the high school level are the best to play the position locally in decades because of their ability to make things happen.  Notice I said high school, because I know we have had some greats go on and play QB in college and or NFL.  But in high school, there is not a better weapon.

  12. Science Hill this year, is like when DB had foreman at QB.  SH is a great team don't get me wrong, but McGue and his elusiveness is what makes their offense so great.  Same with Foreman, buying time, making things happen.   When your QB is one of the fastest if not the fastest on the field, and you have some weapons to throw to......that combo can make a high school team awesome.
