Job posting closing date is March 10 according to mnps website.
that is wrong then per message admin sent out to applicants

All this speculation is fun to see. Who really is making the decision? When we know who that is we can predict the new coach. It always comes to that. Who is making the call?
-
Chase Freeman should be 9AAA MVP. He is by far the best player in the district. He is double and triple teamed on a nightly basis, and still average 20 ppg, 7 apg, 5 rpg.
Where can the bracket be seen? was not in newspaper today

where is district tournament? where will schedule be posted with days?

Perhaps the next head coach will be the most qualified and be a black man.
Maybe the next head coach is white and the most qualified.
if you know how to get a hold of me call me
-
The last Coach at Hillsboro was white and successful. Two white men have coached Hillsboro to state championships.
We all know politics often has a place in hiring.
All of this speculation is useless. Pelham has already decided who the next Coach will be. The interview process is just a formality.
You are correct. In most cases that is how it happens, the administrator knew who they wanted and most the interviews have been a dog and pony show. Every now and then an unknown applicant that gets to interview can change that.

Who will be the new coach at Hillsboro? The one subject that has been danced around is rumor or fact that the new hire will be or has to be black. Why can't the new man be the best coach. This is not a new habit. I applied for a job over 40 years ago and was told in a nice way this is not the job for me. I know of another job where only one coach applied only to have another coach be assigned to the job without even applying. I am not saying this is right or wrong, I am just wondering and concerned why this has to be. Can only a black coach blacks and only a white coach whites. I have coached many kids and seldom if ever had race be a concern and that came from parents. My question is this, should next coach at Hillsboro be a certain skin color. When I look around metro I see a lot of kids being coached by both.

Maybe not officially or publicly, but some moving and shaking has taken place
Names?
-
Again my feeling is the next coach has already been on the sidelines before. Sticking to it.
I tend to agree.

Sad, but there are metro coaches recruiting against each other also.White flight destroyed Metro Schools. Funny they don't want to go tonschools with blacks but they sure want them for their football and basketball teams lolol. I know it is more complicated than that but when busing started up, a lot of folks "got religion" and fled to all these privates popping up. It seems thou wegh the Metro Schools hold their own pretty well though.
-
Unfortunately, "should" and "do" are not congruous.
I agree. It has got to the point that the best coach is the best recruiter, really don't know who the best coach really is.
-
Players typically help and he would have them at hillsboro as long as the recruiters stay out. Yes I'm sure some kids have already gotten calls.
No HS coach should recruit players.
-
Don't know much about McGavock but did they go 1-10 last year? Just womdering why he seems like the man according to everyone especially HighLife lol. Must be a pelham gore connection?
And 9-3 the year before. Players maybe?

I'm sure Smith is being helped by the principal as far as teaching jobs go.. If the principal will support you and get coaches in the building, then finding assistants will be a little easier.
I think Mr. Wilson will help where he can to make Glencliff the best it can be.

Jay wants job, Kurt Page is not applying, neither is Aydelott, and Dorris does not want to be a head coach. This info is from conversations personally.

Congratulations to Scott.

I am the source...
Do tell

I agreed with his last statement.. Sorry I didn't clarify that enough for you..
No need to clarify for me. I am just curious how a washed up old junior pro coach could have this much info. You can clarify now if you like. I am sure others would enjoy your insight.

I don't think Gore is the Caliber of coach that Clayton is no. But I do think Gore is a good coach and a good man who would do a good job at Hillsboro.. I think Waite at EN would do a good job as well.. Needs to be someone with HC experience and knowledge of Metro imo.
You seem to know about metro rather well to be an old washed up junior pro coach. That is not what you said when you agreed with bleacher.
-
I was wondering what you were talking about. Not a HS coach at all.. Not enough patience, that is the hardest job at any level
You must like Hillsboro, seems to be all you post about and know what is going on there. You must not like Gore with you agreeing with bleacher. I wonder where he gets his knowledge. Also another hiding poster.
-
I could see Gore being the favorite. His history at Hillsboro and HC experience put him at the top imo.. maybe a guy like Eddie Woods as well.. Steve Williams would be a really good hire as well.
I thought you were a present coach at Hillsboro, that is what I was told. People using usernames , do not know who is posting. I guess that is the purpose.
-
I'm sure many good candidates will emerge. Whoever the principal hires is my best guess
Wow. never thought of that. Maybe you?
-
Exactly right bleacher. not even close in a comparison
Who should be next coach Hillsboro?
-
Gore ruined McGavock. Why let him do the same at Hillsboro.
Clayton is infinitely better than Gore.
How so?
Metro Nashville recruiting
in Class 5A & Class 6A

I visit many coaches in metro who have voiced their concern about the illegal recruiting of not only middle school students out of zone ,but even the recruiting of players already in their high school. There is no pressure from principals to win at all costs, so why does a coach recruiting feel the need to do this. Has high school football become like AAU basketball coaches and just go get the best players and let them play. Just coach the kids that come to you and go play.
