  1. My point was to owls7 who said Dobbs wasn't a good qb, so I said look what he did against Farragut. Farragut that only gave up 7 points to the owls. The point about Dobbs "sticking to baseball" refered to Hixson putting up banners at the game with SD with that on them. Dobbs proceded to embarass their defense.

  2. the QB for soddy is a first year player if im not mistaken and no hes really not that good, i think it should be chris ricketts and eric achetly (spelling) that you should be worrying about, both recievers are taller than all the dbs on ooltewahs team and they both make really good plays, at the right times, so ooltewah secondary should get ready for the best passing attack they've seen all year, but just like the rhea county game i think they will step up and come to the job! owls by 17

Tell Dobbs to "stick with baseball", I dare you!

Let's see Dobbs had over 300 yrds passing and 3 tds against Farragut. I think he ran for a td also. You remember Farragut don't you.

Newsome, always there to contribut something about the subject.

  4. Offense is not the question for SD. They should be able to score on Ooltewah. The problem is defense. Zero defense. So can they outscore them? Maybe. This is the perfect time to catch a team, after a big win. Someone said homecoming won't have an effect on the game. This is true, but this is SD's playoff game. Be careful owls.

  5. Are all the pieces in place? Let's not get carried away here. They beat the worst team they will see all year. Yes, I think even Bradley could beat that Rhea team. What pieces are you talking about? Moving Ricketts to tb? He got most of his yards on his own athletic ability with no help from a big and soft O line. Give the coaches credit, a few years ago Ricketts would never have been in that position and Dobbs wouldn't be there either. This week SD should beat Bradley, but after that most of the rest of the season is up in the air. They will be even or underdogs the rest of the season. Can they make the playoffs? They will have to beat Bradley, McMinn, Heritage, and Farragut and hope someone else beats Blount twice and beats Farragut twice. At best now SD could finish 4-3 in the region, but... I think they will be underdogs against Ooltewah, OakRidge, Farragut, and maybe even with McMinn and Heritage. Unfortunetly needing a win against Ooltewah in the last game won't be a good way to finish the season. I have a feeling that that game won't mean anything by the time it gets here. There are only 3-4 seniors that are carrying this team, to bad senior night/homecoming is against the #3 5A team in the state. This years team minus those seniors is a sign of things to come.

  6. Soddy is not weak at all. They are by far the biggest sized team i have ever seen, with a quarterback who is larger than all the players on a normal 5a team at about 6'5" 230 and 2 guards that go about 6'7" 320 and 6'5" 340, and a reciever at 6'3" 210 with about 4.6 speed. . .  but they couldnt match up with wb's speed, as most if not all teams wont be able to do.

Look, Deepball said weak slow and out of shape, he didn't say anything about how big they are.

  7. Get a life. You guys start threads just to pump yourself up and then when people get tired of it you get upset. Don't do like the baseball fans did this year. Telling everyone how great they were going to be, because "The whole team is back", and not getting to the region. You guys should be sore from all the PRESEASON chest thumping!

  8. And while I'm at it. How funny was it to see Suckups (Stump) on Sports pick Mrs Woods as the Mother of the Year, the same night her son gets tanked at his prom and kicked off the baseball team.

Almost as funny as the article Ward Gossett wrote about Cofer the same day he cussed out his coach and got suspened.

  9. What kind of year did Ryne Simpson have? Is he going to UT as a position player or pitcher?

Try bench warmer. The most overrated player in Chatt. Only signed with UT because his grandfather roomed with Coach Dickey at Fla.

  10. Good grief.  Now for the real Best of Preps list.  I realize some of y'all like to pat each other's back, name your friends, brothers or yourselves, and go by the inflated stats that some teams phone in...but I go by what I've seen, and how much difference a player makes to a winning team.  My criteria is, how would a certain team fare without this player?  In some cases, they don't miss a beat, but in other cases, one player makes a huge difference.  I also include quality of opponents, attitude, leadership and behavior.  Here goes...and I'm keeping it in Hamilton County, because those are the games I have seen the most.

Pitchers:  Coty Green and Ryne Simpson of Baylor

                  Charles Williams of McCallie

                  Brandon Siltz of Red Bank

Nic Robinson and Justin Higdon of Ooltewah

Positions:  Myles Ervin of Notre Dame...amazing shortstop, good bat

Bret Smalley & Josh Green of Hixson...lively bats

Nathan Long of CCS...major league potential

Ryan Jones, Zach Woods & Blake McDade of Ooltewah...

                    all-around players

                    Michael Brown of Baylor...team leader

Beau Geren of Red Bank...RBI man and best catcher

and Player of the Year:  Reece Cofer of Red Bank....yes, Ooltewah had their number, but against everybody else, Red Bank is 22-6, and Cofer is directly responsible for many of those wins.  For a team with only three seniors and low expectations, they're still alive.  They've beaten most of the teams in the area, and Cofer is usually the rally-starter and playmaker.

Lots of guys came close, but you can't pick everybody.  We all have our opinions, and I don't expect everyone to agree.  But I think this would be an amazing team!

OH MY GOD! curtisj has finally lost it! POY is Cofer. Listen Mr. Cofer, you brought up "attitude, leadership, and behavior". What was RB record while your boy was serving his suspension for cussing out his coach? By the way tell us about your whiney letter to Mr. Fairbanks about your perfect son not getting the scholarship for his "leadership". But of course the TFP gave it to Wilkes even with all his antics, I guess Cofer is qualified then.

  11. you've done gone and done it now.  you've got BigReno fired up.  Let me give you a little advice, if you live in a glass house, don't throw stones.  Like my man Reno said, at least DB punishes their players when they fight, unlike soggy daisy.

    4seamer, YOUR #'S BEEN CALLED!!!!!!!!!!!

    825428091[/snapback]

Woooooooooh, my #'s been called. No one was fighting at SD. It just seems that DB continuies to have discipline problems, you just get a player back and suspend another one. Oh, and what about your fans who don't care what they do as long as they play next friday.

  12. The behavior of #7 last Friday night was unacceptable, there is NO justification for attacking a teammate on the field or on the sidelines.  The team has rules ,which they are all fully aware of, these rules apply ALL the time.  The rules apply whether it is the first game of the season of the last game of the season.  Applying these rules uniformly is NOT penalizing the whole team, but is sending the right message to the team and the community that NO ONE individual is more important than the team.  #7 put Coach Clark in a bad position, but Coach Clark did the right thing.

I wouldn't compare this to someone trying to calm down a teamate in the huddle big reno.

  13. Hey Art- The stats you qouted did not include the 52-0 whipping of Karns. One of the Sd people giving the stats is a coach on the team. I'm sure they have the right stats.

You remember Karns? DB-42 Karns-14. You gave up 2 touchdowns to Karns? They were the worst team we've seen all year! We didn't even throw the ball in the 2nd half. And they made the playoffs in region 1? Wow! That must have been another game lamon sat out. Do you guys sit a player every game for discipline problems, just so no one feels left out?

  14. Oh. please....

    Why would Soddy support you????????

It's all about the playoffs now. You lose, we get home field advantage. It's that simple. Go Wildcats!

Not so fast my whiney friend. SD still has 2 more games to play and win.
