1. Hey guys,

Make sure and read this even though it'll probably be too long and discourage many from reading (mainly Lake Co. people)...

I don't live in Union City, much less Tennessee, anymore and don't get the chance to keep up with Coach T (great website by the way) or high school football anymore. I made sure I could make it back for this game because I knew it would be huge... and it was..

Lake Co. beat UC off the field the 1st half, and I was already making plans for after the game, but I'm glad I stayed for the second half.

Where do I start? I know, the conditioning department. Don't mean to beat a dead horse, but Lake Co. is either gave up or just doesn't run enough at practice. No excuses for that... Um... Springer messing up the punt... Yeah... it was his fault, yes, he knows better whether he is a punt returner or not. I played football at UC and I have a total of 0 punt return yards and about 25 yards on kickoff returns (1 against OC on a squib kick, which I got hurt) and I know better than to touch a punt rolling around on the ground. Now watch this kids, lets flashback to last season UC at Lake Co. anyone remember the Lake Co. fans going nuts when their guys would stand next to rolling punts and the Union City Golden Bullies would hustle downfield and wax them trying to knock them into the ball (completely legal.)? I'm sure he saw it, he should know it.

Don't want to target a single person but someone said college basketball in the same sentence as Springer. Yes, he's good, just not clutch... Saw it all year last year, just couldn't make things happen and get multiple wins against UC (but that's another post.)

Arnold great kick in overtime, good snap by the younger Gossett, it worked out after a couple of practice tries, makes me flash back to when older Gossett snapped to older Sherwood (Arnold's cousin) with the game winning kick by Graham against Dresden a couple years ago. All were sophomores at time.

Player of the game for me was Flood ran the ball hard, noone could tackle the short guy and made countless tackles on defense... And another thing, the past couple years,

I've been loving the support by the Central fans/parents on Coach T except on rivalry week, but then it's all business. Wish I could make it back for the game later today but I'll be checkin in on my UC football buddies. I would make a prediction on the UC-OC game, but my school spirit will not allow that...

By the way slaw means you stink... JohnnyUtah7, the slawest of the slaw...

While I continue rambling, someone mentioned that Johnny Utah played linebacker at Mississippi State where I yell like...well you know our fight song.. Johnny Utah was an All-American QB at Ohio State who blew his knee and went to law school, finally becoming an FBI detective infiltrating a group of bank robbing surfers befriends the head man, Bode, at least in Point Break...

I've always wanted to say this... For Shizzle...

  2. In this order in 1a:

    Trousdale

    Friendship

    Fayette

Jo Byrns (maybe) lot of teams can fill this slot, all but Lake Co.

Pretty good, but you can't have Fayette Academy in the top 5 of 1A and not have Jackson Christian School listed.

yes you can. Fayette, even though the got beat twice by JCS, was a better team last year.

  3. Yes Coach Barger you have them moving in the right direction. I think you guys will win your region this season. Union City was not that good of a team last season. This was evident in the Blue Cross Bowl. They played in a weak region, but this season I expect your team to over take them.

you're right, Union City was not very good. The could BARELY beat Lake Co. Anyone who makes it to the State Championship is good. Except Cloudland in basketball, and wayne co.

  4. they will dominate class A? weddle is one guy with a lil help from xavier but thats not enough to dominate at all. if u say that then look at lake co tyler geanes warlick clay valentine springer avery wallace copelin i mean its to much for 2 men to handle but its going to b a great one. i think the two from humboldt graduated.

Have you idiots not learned from your lesson about downgrading UC and talking about how good your team is on the football boards?

  5. [i agree with mr.Bigster lake county has come a long way from when they last played union city and yesd the falcons r looking forward to possiblely playing unoin city again!! go falcons!!!

Lake County is hungry for another shot at Union City,-bigwes68

No they aren't, i'm pretty sure LC doesn't want anything to do with UC in any shape form or fashion, because as much as ya'll might have gotten better, UC is rolling and getting even more physical.

But again, i might misinterpret this and they might be hungry for concussions, if that's the case, then we'll feed the whole team...again...

  6. Hayes is an excellent QB...Springer shouldn't even get all-region from what i've seen...Nate Coleman doesn't get the amount of carries most backs do, due to the number of excellent running backs that UC has but he is probably the most talented running back in the state. He averaged over 8 yds a carry going into the Mckenzie game where he ran for almost two hundred on only about 12 carries....

  7. It's not whine. According to Union City's website, their enrollment is 400. That is 2 over the TSSAA single A classification for football and 61 over for basketball. In case you don't know, enrollment determines where a team should play---not where they can win.

As my friend Artie says, "WHAAAA!" UC didn't petition and jockey for a 1a classification...due to their enrollment they are down there and are going to put their best team on the field no matter who they play with everyone of them having bad intentions... Maybe they should try going through 2 a days in the summer and having a more vigorous off season program... Fulton Co. went through their first 2 a days session this year and look at the results they are having, they've won more games this season than they have in a while, including a win over SF. Once SF works as hard as the UC players do, then you can complain about enrollment...

  8. Bigster, we will be doing the Westview-Huntingdon game with updates on Dresden-Humboldt on 101.3. Bring your headset & keep up with two other big region games. What a night to only be Week 2! I've been away from the website today so I missed some apparently uncalled for posts by some UC people. They may have been players, I don't know who Nader is but UCDM is the drum major for the band. Young man, I won't call your name, but it is not a good reflection on you, your school or youth group to make off-color remarks on here. Let's have a little maturity when we talk trash on CoachT or you will lose your posting privileges as well. These are not typical Union City fans. Good luck to both the Falcons & Tornadoes.

Be careful about the whole nader thing becuase my name is very similiar.... I've seen his posts and almost thought they were mine and didn't remember saying some of that so don't delete me... I've been good...and UC wins big friday

  9. Yes, exactly, come playoff time Union City will be ready for tough competition cause they played Westview and Milan, not Byhailia,MS.

    825735104

Byahlia looked about like a middle school team in more way than one....size, speed, execution, aggressiveness.... I think UC prepared themselves better in losing to Westview than beating a middle school team.... After looking at the heels of Markei Guy for four quarters, i don't think anyone on LC can compare to him... I've seen both teams and I'm picking UC by more than a couple of TD's.... It'll be a barn burner....at the kickoff of the game.

  10. Uh...where else would i be on friday night? It's kinds of mandatory (sorry, big word) that i be there. And I'M going to watch our offense march down the field all night, and watch a UC defensive stand like no other.

    I FEEL YA!!!!

I do root for OC, but they have bigger problems right now than the UC vs. Westview game.
