  1. Oh, that makes more sense. But it may cause our team problems, since we may have some gone on vacation, they planned around the tournament, but it turns out that the 30th was the makeup day in case of inclement weather.
  2. In your opinion, what is the toughest weight slass in region 2, i.e. what has the hsrdest or closest competition, not neccesarily what has the best wrestlers but what is the most open.
  3. In practice coach brought to our attention that the Blount County Tournament is being held on the 28th of december. It originally said the 30th on our schedule. Is this coreect, i heard that heritage had the wrong date on their schedule too. The 28 is the righ date, right, who knows, but why isn't it on a saturday, it makes no sense.
  4. Man, our match against Sevier and Seymour was cancelled due to rain, and i was looking fdorward to it too. Instead we had practice. I don't remember them (Sevier) having a strong group at regions last year either, in fact it seemed that they may have had a few open classes, i guess they have changed alot if they beat catholic, unless catholic had illnesses or something. Either way its good.
  5. Sounds like you agree with him beeing number one, i have never seen him, but a two ton boulder doesn't sound like fun. Do you know what grade he is in, i think the rankings should include their grade too.

Stewart (MLK) in the Harpeth finals. Hwt Ben Hazelett (Union Co.) Shawn Grady (Bradley) Stewart Allen (Cordova) Carl Taylor (Ridgeway) James Lindow (Collerville) Phillip Sparn (Hixson) This week: Allen won the Houston High School Black Horse Tournament. Lindow won Kenwood. Grady won Huntsville. Phillip Sparn (Hixson) dec. Nick Shadrick (Soddy) 7- 6 in the finals of Ooltewah. Hazelett took second at Knoxville Catholic. Moore (Hillwood) pinned Fizer (Creek Wood) in the Harpeth finals. All of these and more can be found on www.tennwrestling.com just click skip intro then go to '05 matman rankings, it shows both public and private, this is the public rankings.
  7. How has Greenback been doing, you guys are usually keeping well informed but i haven't heard much latly. And after seeing Seviers score against Catholic i have to say i am impressed. What returning wrestlers do you guys have??
  8. I am working to get some and i won't put mine out now cause i would probaly exclude some good wrestlers, plus i haven't seen everyone yet. But does anyone else have any predictions.
  9. Alcoa has fared well for its experience as far as i am concerned. The new guys were lost, as most new guys are, and they don't know what happened, but thats to be expected. We barely beat grace because we gave up forfeits. Greenback beat us, but i felt i should have done better against henderson, i was down by a few, but i fought hard, i don't think i was pinned, but it can't be changed now. Against WB we struggled, and i had a less than impressive match, one that i should have won, but i messed up and tried to rush things, big mistake, but he fought hard and i don't want to take away what he earned, same thing happened to our 119. William Blounts upper weights were pretty good. Sophmore Jon Melson surprised me in his match against WB. He came close for just his 2nd match. Against Maryville i was impressed by Nic Shields, he knew how to use his legs, and their freshman 125 put up a fight. We wrestled decent against them, big problem was lack of time for exhibiton, one mat 4 teams and middle school, that was too much for one night. I noticed Heritage had low turnout, apparently lots of them are quiting and it really hurt their team points. Alcoa is still waiting for its football players to heal, and some others to get over sickness. Our next match will be agaionst Seymour and Sevier on the 9. Our 189 has fared well so far, as has our 152, we just need to make weight more often and fill in classes. This year can be successful if we just heal and make weight. And after seeing the catholic/seymour, and catholic/sevier scores it looks like they may be good themselves, i just hope our new guys learn from their mistakes, and the more experienced of us quit making simple ones, we have guys with great potential, and they are working hard in practice so they can show it in the match. Hows everyone else doing.
  10. How do Maryville, Alcoa, William Blount, and Heritage line up this year. Are they improved from last year or has graduation taken its toll. The tournament is coming up soon. What are some peoples thoughts.
  11. i forgot about that. But finishing first in the individual tournament is a great accomplishment, and i am assuming farragut will be up there again. they seem to still have a strong team, especially if Dix returns. Maryville, i am not to sure about, i don't know what they do or do not have, i guess i will find out monday when we face them.
  12. I was wondering how WB lines up this year, since Will is the only senior. I was wanting to know if you guys have a full team, or if you are missing alot of guys from last year. I am looking forward to our match against you guys and maryville on monday, you are both good teams. By the way, is Hargis 130, i haven't talked to him lately.
  13. oh yeah, i forgot, so who made it for region 2, was it karns and maryville ??. My memory may be wrong but i believe that karns barely beat Greenback.
  14. I don't believe that anyone has forgotten Farragut, i remeber watching Dix win state, and cheering for Knox, second place in state isn't too bad, and i believe he will be in the finals again, i was amazed that they were only Juniors, i had thought they were older untill i read the state brackets. That right there shows the strength that is in region 2, it always seems to be a competitive gion, especially when you look at how large it is. if i am not mistaken it is the largest region isn't it, i could be wrong.
  15. That was an impressive team last year, and you guys seem to be ready for this year too. I was wondering, how did you guys do in the state team duals.
  16. RCpatriot i never had the chance to wrestle roddy, he is a nice guy and me and him have talked. Reb Wrestler I assume you are Nic Shields, i have heard alot about you and i look forward to seeing you there if we don't meet earlier.
  17. I was 7th 2 years ago, and last year i missed regions due to injury.
  18. MakoRevised Just one question, how are you so sure, since i haven't wrestled your 125, henderson. I am not guranteed anything, i proved nothing last year and am not satisfied with the outcome, so i don't realy want to be told that it is mine, let me earn it, and clarify is henderson 125, and if so why do u doubt your own teammate, your profile says you are from greenback. But thanks for the respect, i just need to win the ones that count this year and satisfy my goals, i fell far short last year after a good sophmore season.
  19. N, it wasn't a response to your post, it was a response to the one before yours, but no i didn't make state last year, and its not a lock this year i will have to work for it. I repct your posts, you are honest, i don't know how the whole 6th in stae stuff came up, but i guess i will have to work to make it happen, but nothing is for sure, Greenback seems to have a tough 125, Henderson. My post was not directed at you, but was also to clarify any misunderstandings.
  20. It is weird to see people talking about this, but inmy defense, i was 119 last year and ihave been varsity all four years, so you don't have to talk great about me, but don't talk about me in a negative way either, plus last year i was put out due to injury. Do i deserve the high thoughts, it is yet to be recognized, but i don't deserve the negativness, of course i wasn't placing at 125, i was 119 and injured.
  21. Will Henderson be 119 or 125, i heard that he was over 119, and was forced to go 125, does anyone know for sure, he told me he was 125 last time i saw him. Is Greenback a solid team like last year, what does their line up look like.
  22. This is one of the most complete teams alcoa has had in years. We had a few quit after last year and Gibson and Coope left alcoa, but we have freshman coming in and this year we have developed an AAU team that will hopefully become a feeder program. We have a heavy weight hopefully and our 103 and 112 are freshman but the 112 has some experience, robert williams is back at 119, i am at 125, blackford should be 30, 135 may be corey weigle from grace who has impressed me, 140 is a freshman, 145 is up in the air, at 152 is Ben Thompson who can be outstanding after he returns from injury, 160 is will thatcher, 171 is Dean Deter, Frana is at 189, 215 is empty but we may have some people move around in the weights, and 275 is debatable, he has to lose weight first. Overall i am impressed with what we have and i hope we can have another good season, and we should send a few to state, it would be nice.
  23. What about andrew henderson, he is 125 and is pretty good too, i will be 125 and i believe that hargis is now 130, or 135, but he told me 130 i believe.
