  1. bulldog, nobody said it would be a blowout or anything like that. but riverdale is just too tough. if it was anybody else, i'd give the thumbs up to smyrna. that is why i think its going to be a good game though. i'm predicting riverdale, but it could go either way and i wouldnt be supprised.

  3. somebody answer my previous questions please... i wanna know the chances
  4. ok back to the topic... i'm gonna ask two questions in comparison.... 1. what are the chances of siegel beating blackman if zeke gets to throw the ball more? 2. what are the chances of winning if we stick to the running game most of the time like last night?
  5. brock is a good player. he hits hard and likes doing it. sometimes though it appears he is too anxious and doesn't read his keys right. when hes at his high though, hes a great safety.
  6. yea thats true. but you gotta admit its rankins coaching that draws the good players into the school. it all comes down to coaching
  7. i hate to say it but leadoff you're right. our special teams has got to buc up and hit somebody. and yes our secondary needs to get touch too. jessie russel and brock marlin have way more potential than they showed last night. this is andrew wards first year at siegel so i dont know his potential on defense. brian hughs at strong safety though, did a great job last night with a couple of clutch tackles, one being before half time, right before nunley was about to score again. he isnt a big kid, but he defies the law of physics, hitting the big guys hard and is a very aggressive tackler. our secondary has potential. they just gotta play hard to show it
  8. nobody knows rankin's coaching style..... hes just rankin. he makes things happen and nobody can ever figure him out. new things come along with him every year and no matter how long a coach has known rankin, they can never figure him out
  9. bhs, you have to remember lincoln county isnt nearly as good as they were last year, or the previous years. on a good day, i think that siegel could hang with them also. talking about how good blackman hangs with lincoln county wont impress anybody. our boys are ready this coming week. watson will have no choice but to let zeke let if fly and when he throws, he's dangerous.
  10. Both teams have a great running game and both teams have great run defenses..... Losing wolke was big for smyrna, but i hear orona is following his legacy somewhat. both teams have good special teams, but dave thomas's return ability is too strong for smyrna. I think it's gonna come down to two things: While shadowens is a great coach, Rankin has so many things in his head and in his clipboard than any other coach in the state, therefore he has a lot in store for smyrna. also, riverdale has many players from first to third string who placed tops in the state in the iron men competition thing. They are strong and very endured. not saying smyrnas not, but riverdale will win this one, close for three quarters, then wide open in the fourth. it will be the best game in the midstate of the year though that is my prediction.
  11. lol sorry about that region..... echols wasnt really injured me and braeden were just messin with coffee counties head. true though, echols didnt have a bad night, but he didnt shine on the field as well as he usually does
  12. you may be right. Those are our big players but unfortunately, blackman has depth full of great running backs, two still having years to improve. it will be a good challenge
  13. O yea i kinda got off the topic there. blackman's running game is deffinetely a plus for their offense.... plus is an understatement. But our big guys like Echols, Shepard, Davis, and Wright are prepared for that. They thrive on the big games. Especially when big players with good running depth are trying to pass their slots. But if they get passed them, I can't see our secondary stopping them unless they improve big time within the next week
  14. losing wolke is a huge set back for smyrna... but that is about the only drastic loss to the team. i believe they'll win, but it'll be a good one.
  15. Dude take it from somebody who actually runs with his team. Theres marcus malone who started at blackman, justin echols who played varsity special teams as a freshman, Bruce Shepard who also played special teams as a freshman, Chad Davis, Mike Wright..... All of those guys atleast played special teams on varsity as freshmen and that is big stuff for a freshman. Now they are juniors and they are our big guys on defense. Who cares who had varsity experience or not? That was last year. It's canceled out now. All that matters now is this year and the fact that almost all of our starters have varsity experience against the toughest district in the state.
  16. Man i hope Brian Morton does well in Zekes place tomorrow. As for Echols, I hope it's only sprained ligaments and nothing more. The run game will thrive all year against our defense without him
  17. atta boy wingman.... looks like siegel's got the tally marks in fans in this room. where ya at coffee county?
  18. actually i'm not real sure if he'll start or not but sounds like he might or might not now....
  19. Zeke will play but he wont start. sounds like they're still precautioning for his arm, but hes fine tuned many things and is ready to go if u ask me.
  20. yes #66 mike right also...... plays both sides, busts heads, hungry for nunley and the running game. be careful nunley dont run into that wall.
  21. Siegel's got this.... I can feel it baby. #15, #60, #8, #7, #1..... watch out for those jersey numbers up front cuz those are some big names who will stop ya'lls little nunley sprint.
