Anyone else getting football fever? I know that school just got out, but football season isn't getting here quickly enough...lol I appreciate all the comments on my thread, never thought I'd get so popular.

 

To Pedo and 5A Fan, let's here what ya'll,being the local sports writers and all, think of our chances are of having a better or worse season from last year.

I'm tired of softball, let's see some football. I hear about practices and the play running, but I can't wait to see some real action this year.

Regardless I totally agree with nelson728 and Middle Tennessee Football.

I just look forward to next season. Although I do live with a certain freshman that has become way too lazy, maybe the coaches should get on that. Also he's a little girl crazy.

Bill Price is the best football coach Coffee County has had since Ron Crawford.. Lebron is a great guy but he was new to being a head coach when he was at coffee county.... Price and crawfore are the only two good coach Coffee County has had in decades and it kills me how people bash him. If you compare the number of athletes on Coffee County's team to any team we play except Cumberland County even Warren County has more athletes... PRICE HAS DONE A GOOD JOB AND HE SHOULD BE GETTING THE SUPPORT OF THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY, PERIOD. I YOU ALL WANT TO GO BACK TO MAYBE WINNING ONE GAME A SEASON KEEP RUNNING HIM DOWN.

Anyway, Price is a good coach, he actually has a heart. He's dedicated to his players. He may not always call the right play or do things that those of us who are in the stands like, but he doesn't have the view we have. I don't honestly care if we win a state championship this year or next year or whenever (it would be really nice though.) I'm just happy that there is someone who is actually interested in football coaching football. I realize that Breaden obviously has some coaching potential, but Coffee County got tired of him or he got tired of Coffee County. Either way, everyone ran him into the ground too. So why not give Price a break, talk to the players and see how many of them hate him. From the ones I know they really think a lot of him. A coach is only as good as the team around him, but the team does not just consist of the players on the field. The community has to support him, winning or lossing. I really can't wait till it starts back up again. Maybe with the up & comers we'll see something special. The potential is there, but negativity breeds negativity. I think it's called karma or something.

I'm a Coffee County follower, but Congrats to Smyrna. I wore my bulldogs t-shirt last Saturday. You guys deserved it, you're a strong team with so much talent. Maybe some of it rubbed off on Coffee Co. in the 1st round.

I think Austin Elwell, Joseph Floied, Stephen Jacobs, Andrew Floied, and Cody Caldwell from Coffee Co. will all make an impact. They were strong for their JV team. I'm a little biased with the Floied boys.

That was definitely rude and uncalled for - please accept my apologies. The reason they sit over there is because they don't want to buy season tickets to sit between the forties on the home side and either end of that side gets crowded - that's all well and good, but if they're going to sit over there they should be courteous, even if mildly provoked by being asked why they're sitting there.

Thanks for your apology. I really do appreciate it. I realize fans can be rude everywhere, Coffee County being no exception, I just hate to see it. For one as an adult you should conduct yourself as one no matter the situation. Often the rudeness is blamed on the student section when really it's the adult fans. It's kind of pathetic when highschool students can show more maturity than the adult fans.

I have to admit it was a good game, well bad for CC, but a good game. My one complaint: The LC fans were so rude. I heard one of them tell a CC fan to sit down, because CC wasn't going to score anyway. Then when asked why they were on the visitor's side they responded by saying "We own the Pit we sit where we want." That was rude and uncalled for.

I have had to have some therapy due to problems with pain in my elbow. The symptoms I had were similar to tennis elbow, although I don't play tennis, and a band that is placed above the elbow was recommended to help with the pain and movement.

I wonder if some of these players are using these for this reason.....if so, they do help with the pain and gives you more flexability. If they are just to be cool, well then, whatever.

 

From a Mom, not a football player.

When I was playing softball I had a horrible case of tennis elbow, my orthopedic surgeon gave me what was called a compression band to put right above my elbow on my bicep. It helped relieve the pressure on my elbow and was very helpful when throwing or batting. I guess softball may be a little different considering everyone throws the ball or bats, but I can see the benefit especially if worn by a QB with tennis elbow or something similar. Really for anyone else they don't do much.

I am just going to throw a wrench into the situation. I know that the stars would have to align just right for it to happen but if Coffee were to beat Lincoln. they would be Coffee 3-1 and Lincoln 2-1, Warren to beat Franklin. it would be Warren 2-2 and Franklin 1-4, If Cookeville beats Lincoln and Warren Beats Coffee then there would be a three way Tie at 3-2 in the region. Cookeville beating Franklin Co. The standings would be like so.

Warren Co. 3-2

Wow, that is very insightful and well thought out. I'm confused though. That's nothing new. It's great that Coach Price is keeping the boys focused this week. They need to remain focused for the rest of the season. This is probably the biggest game they'll play this year and I hope to see them win it. Best of luck to both.

I spent a lot of Thursday nights watching freshmen or jv games this season, and now that it's over I want to know who's in the top tier this year.

i know a bunch of yall are cc fans but yall know just as much as we do that you cant bea the refs too.....they made bad callls all night and yall know it there were pass interferance personal fouls and late hits that i know they saw and didnt even call them.....makes you think that they were trying to get back at us from last year....doesnt it

What is it with the refs and CC? They're always calling imaginairy things on us, and then nothing on the other team. I'd like to know what their problem is with Coffee County.

I saw quite a bit of pass interference from my seat and I know they did too.

Coffee Co still has a chance to get things turn around and make the playoffs.

I think the injuries are affecting CC in the worst way. So when is Harris 100% again does anyone know? And did you see his tackle the other night with the cast on, thats dedication.

Nashville-Overton has a good team. You'll probably see them in the playoffs as a #3 or #4 from 5-4A. I thought everybody knew that.

I'm just going to be honest. I graduated from CC during the Breaden years. Football was not a major priority. We then were more concerned with partying before and after the games than we were the actual games. We would go to the games, but I couldn't tell you our season record my senior year. I guess growing up a little bit, and having "my boys" ( a little bro, and nephew) playing I pay a little more attention. The parties still go on but I save those for MTSU games.

I wish you, SemperFi, had informed me about Overton since you know so much about everything. Please do not try to insult my intelligence or anyone elses for that matter. You are rude and off topic most of the time, so therefore you make yourself a target. Everyone picks on you because of that.

Tough loss for the Red Raiders. Overton wins 39-20.

That was upsetting. What happened? I was there but I don't understand what happened.

I've heard 6 from Overton is quick. We are going to have to contain him. I'd like to see CC get the W. I'm not predicting anything about any of it, because my predictions are generally wrong.

I don't know anything about Overton, except that they're the bobcats & there 2-2. So what is the prediction?
