maybe all the CoachT posters could play a game in the parking lot. It sounds like it could be harder hitting than the game played at 7 p.m. Friday night. But I don't think a lot of us could last four quarters though.

Coalfield was approached by a parent to enroll a kid in school living in the community. That was shown, we can't turn away students living in Morgan Co. and a School bus is supplied in the neighborhood. The kid was accepted, he was approved, and it is over. You should get over it and quit hanging on to this as a security blanket if your dogs, highlanders or Avery whatevers get beat.

Appearantly Pujo is upset because if Hampton does get beat he will feel like a ringer caused it. Nothing will be farther from the truth. If Coalfield wins it is because of a better team. We play students enrolled in Coalfield school that passes both the administrative and TSSAA muster regardless of race, color, national origin, social status, age or political ties. Ability is judged by the coaching staff and that is the bottom line.

CY , you have been named the most honest person in Coalfield, did the dad and son have problems with the mother or was it the O S football team. Was the kids mom a teacher at O S, is that why he had to change schools. Be honest big guy.

I'll pass it on to the Lt. that he needs to find his old uniform and see if he can FIT in it and wear it! He told me last friday that it had been 15 years since he wore it, so that might be a stretch!

Might take you up on that. I know the mud will be deep on the sideline, but I know one thing for sure, it will not be as deep as the stuff that has been put on this board.

 

 

 

I am glad to see that BBALL and the Harriman Posse will be in attendence sitting on Hamptown's side. The blue they wear can camoflage them till we need them. I hope BBALL brings his walkie talkie wristwatch so that he call let us know what play they are calling. That will come in handy.

 

On second thought that camera might get in the way. Can you talk that nice Clinton City Police Detective into letting me sit on his shoulders? He is just as tall and the camera will not get in the way.

I'm sure that CLINTON Lieutenant would be GLAD to let you sit on his shoulders, then that Clinton Chiropractor that will be there too will fix his back when you get off.

Going to be a lot of people there tomorrow night, from ALL OVER!!! We should have moved this game to Blankenship for the room.

Well whatever the outcome, I'm sure Hampton will know that they played a football game on Saturday morning! And we'll take our little 190 student school up against your 429 student almost 2A school and play you straight up!

We actually need to make this a regular season game if there's so much talk on here year after year for the playoffs, oh, but wait, you guys have only won 8 games in the playoffs since 1979!!!

Yellow Jackets will show up BIG tomorrow night!! Prepare for that long bus ride home! Look for the Jackets to EVEN the series!!!

You know this will be the 4th meeting of the 2 schools in the playoffs and Hampton is 2-1 against us!!! HOWEVER, Hampton has NEVER travelled to Coafield to play. I guarantee you that the bus ride takes something out of you! I've been there and done that! Don't care if you take a LIMO, 3 hours in a vehicle in the mountains and on the interstate gets to your legs.

We'll see if the series has been evened up come Friday, or if Hampton goes out to a 3-1 record against the Jackets!!!

Come early, that's all I have to say!!! If you're looking for a good bite to eat go to LB's and get you a burger before the game, spend a little money in our METROPOLIS of a city, er, community!

Don't look like I'm the only one crying, I'm sure not going to turn anybody in. Just seems to look a little shady to several people.I don't even call it cheating,just bending the rules. Ido hope if Coalfield cheated,they get caught. I don't believe the dumb junk. The kid left Oliver Springs to be on a winning program, its not like he just happened to move in from across the country. If that was the case and he only moved 5 miles,why did he change schools. If it looks like and wabbles like a duck.its probably a duck.

Because Oliver Springs is in Roane County and Coalfield is in Morgan County! Different Counties, Different school districts! It just so happens we are only 5 miles, IF THAT MUCH from OSHS.

We don't cheat, we just WIN! So if you WIN, you must be cheating! Especially when you are in a small community with only 190 kids in all of the high school. Almost half the male population of the school plays on the football team!

Gary is a great coach and gets the BEST out of all the players!

And yes, you are crying about it or you wouldn't still be talking about it!

And another thing, don't you DARE try to insinuate Coalfield cheats when for all we know, Hampton probably deliberately injured Goins because they knew they couldn't win without him. The said player was allowed to play because he moved to the Coalfield school district and when you do that on your own free will, there's nothing that can be done, no matter how much somebody whines and cries about it like YOU have Pujo.

Not worried one single bit, the only thing this game means is you were one of the final 8 or you made it to the final 4. The next round get tougher and it will take a better team than Coalfield to win. Now if you can pick you up another player or two, you might be able to hang. I think Hampton is the only team still in the playoffs around here, you all wouldn't mind if we found us a few extra kids. Like the one feller said ,this is America ,I'd say alot of kids would like to make the choice to play Friday night. Seems like some other school didn't think it was right either,or they wouldnt have imformed the TSSAA.

Why don't you CRY A LITTLE Pujo??? If you're so darn confident what does it matter who plays? If he was cleared then GET OVER IT! If you lose will this be your OUT? If Coalfield loses then what did this EXTRA kid add to the team?

Let's play the game, then see who's on top! If you feel that Coalfield has tried to cheat with this player and the TSSAA decides to investigate, then leave it up to them! If they cleared him once, I'm sure they can clear him again! I GUARANTEE you that Gary Kreis is not the type of coach that would TRY AND CHEAT to win! We've been to the final 4 and faced those private schools who recruit and I CAN TELL YOU we don't recruit. It's like Maryville, when you win on a yearly basis, kids want to transfer and play on a winning team.

Most kids that want to be on a winning football team in Morgan County come to Coalfield, if they want to win in Basketball they go to Wartburg.

Just get over this crap that we're cheating, because according to the TSSAA, that's not what's happened. And if they come back later and change their mind, like they can do, then so be it! But Gary is not the CHEATING kind of coach!

It should be A HECKUVA game! With the field being covered it should be in good shape, although I have to say it's been kind of rough the past couple of weeks, the worst I've EVER seen it!!! Well except when i was a kid and we had crab grass in there!! But since Gary has been at the head of the program, that field has been better than some 5A and college fields!

I will warn you that the sidelines are CRAPPY right now, so if Hampton has speedsters, it won't help to get to the corners because if you get to close to the sideline, it's WET!

Coalfield 12-0. out of that 12-0, 2 teams were 0-10, 3 were 1-9. Coalfield has beat 5 teams that made the playoffs and that is counting Midway twice. Coalfields opponents have a combined record of 37-85. Correct me on any of this if I am wrong.

 

Hampton is 11-1. out of that 11-1, we beat 1 team that was 0-10, out of the rest of the teams, 11 won 2 or more games. Hampton has beat 7 playoff teams, one of them being a 4A team and we lost to 4A playoff team of Johnson County by 3 points. Hampton opponents have a combined record of 54-74. One of our wins came against Cosby, who at the time was ranked in the state higher than us, and this was 7 games into the season, so it wasn't like it was the first of second game after the rankings came out.

 

To me, that is quite a bit of difference. But you know what, it all means nothing now. Anythig can happen in high school football, ask Dobyns Bennett.

But REGION 2 OWNS Region 1 EXCEPT for maybe Hampton. Almost EVERY year all 4 or at least 3 of the playoff teams come from Region 2.

Like you said though, we can sit here and talk until we are ORANGE in the face, but we will all know who's going on to the next round around 9:30pm on Friday.

I'm worried that Hampton may have to much for Coalfield, but that 3 hour bus ride ALWAYS factors in to the equation, ALWAYS! I don't care what you say, that ride on the bus, stinks!

NOw that is beating around the bush. I will more specific, Who did Coalfield beat that was 1. ranked in state. 2. played in higher class and made playoffs? That all I want to know.

Well Cumberland Gap made the playoffs! They got killed by Alcoa, but they made the playoffs.

No way Oak Ridge loses 3 in a row! There would have to be a FREEZE in a very hot place before that EVER happens!!!

Oak Ridge will win, it might not be pretty, but they will win. However the last 2 games will be a lot tougher. Ooltewah may be a loss, but OR OWNS Farragut!

If you're the cats you get motivated to win out so that you don't have to make that first round trip to DB.

Hood had a HECK of a game Friday night! His receivers need to get a little more consistent with their catches though, he had several drops that should have been caught. The Freshman, don't know his name, #22, is going to be a HECK of a threat over the next 3 years and 3 games, IF he stays at Clinton. That's going to be the key, keeping these kids in the program. I know Coalfield is VERY happy to have a Clinton defect in Brandon Davis!
