  1. "KEY WORDS" PLAY AS A TEAM. YOU CAN HAVE 20 GREAT PLAYERS BUT IF THEY DO NOT PLAY AS A TEAM YOU JUST HAVE NOTHING. MACON COUNTY BOYS HAVE TRULY IMPRESSED ME WITH THEIR PLAY AND HUSTLE. NOT CRAZY ABOUT THE WAY THE COACH SUBS BUT IT IS GETTING THE JOB DONE. WORK HARD, PLAY HARD, AND GOOD THINGS WILL HAPPEN

I agree with you about the coach. Can't understand all the subbing. But they always pull it together and come out winning in the end.

    GO TIGERS!!

  2. Thanks Tigers for 4 wonderful years of Tiger Football, Band and Cheerleading. I am sure it will be an emotional night for parents, students and friends, take it all in, and then turn that emotion into fuel for the game. Take pride in that "T" on the side of your helmets, the MACON on your cheerleading uniform and the blue band uniform you wear. Think of all the past Tigers that have worn them. Make them proud tonight. You guys & ladies may not realize it right now, but you are the pride and the glue of the community that you pull together every friday night...you are a inspiration regardless of the outcome of a game. So GO Tigers, hit somebody, cheer your loudest and best, and play that pep song to the best of your ability! GO MACON!

    TIGER PRIDE!

Well put. See ya tonight tnchad.

  3. Congrats to all the seniors...football, band and cheerleaders. Last night to play on your home field. Give it all you got!!! I've enjoyed watching you these past 4 years (and jr. high years, too).

    GO BIG BLUE /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  4. Wow kinda surpirsed that nobody is Tiger Enough to take this challenge....honestly baffled!

I'll take the challenge and I'll be there with my blue on yelling for my boys.

    GO BIG BLUE /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

P.S. tnchad...I thnik I know who you are. See ya tonight!!!

  5. Wonderful post in this cesspool of crap that some are persistent to wallow in around here. If you whiners and crap-slingers had any idea what you were doing to our program by making a public spectacle of yourself you surely would do the right thing and leave these forums. I know you have as much right to be here as I do but, it burns my a** to know that a few idiots spouting off here gets more attention and brings more ridicule to the rest of our fans than they deserve. You have no shame. You haven't earned the right to put your thoughts into the forefront of conversation about Macon Co. football.

Angel I'm not talking about you there. But I would like for you to understand that these coaches have a real good idea who are their best play makers. Plus, If you truly understood how it works, coaches play and don't play kids based on many things. Go ask them. It is up to a coach to make sure he puts the team in the best position to win. There are times when other things might trump that. Being a coach is a very challenging job with very little incentive. Most do it because they want to make a difference in your kid and my kid's life.

I have tried to coach, but I soon realized how many parents behaved and I had very little tolerance for them. I gave it up after a couple of years and it made me more determined to back my coach up. This is what I'm doing now.

So BACK OFF and find somewhere else to show your ignorance. I kinda like it here. I'm even missing the threads where Smith Co. faithful poke and jab at us tiggers up here on the ridge.

I totally agree with you!! I haven't posted to these "coach bashing" threads because I don't like whats being said. The coach is hired to coach to his best ability, but for some reason parents and some fans can't get this through their thick skulls /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> I go to all the games (home and away) and I will always support the the Tigers.

    GO MACON

  6. OWLSRULE, I was reminded of "tiptoeing through the tulips" and "you couldn't bust an egg taped to the top of your helmet" the moment I read this thread. LOL

Too many people are too PC these days if you ask me. We are afraid to say what we mean sometimes just for the threat of making someone uncomfortable. Pretty sickening and wussified.

Or afraid they will get sued.

  7. Don't leave me out of this mafia I want to be part of it. I will bring the white flags /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I'll bring the yellow flags and wear black/white stripe shirt and make bad calls. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  8. I was at that ballgame and I can tell you....it has all been blown WAY out of proportion......for what reason... I'm not sure but I do know that there was no more said at that ballgame than any other I've ever been to and I can say I've been to plenty....not only at Macon but surrounding teams as well. I did not hear any cussing nor fowl language and I never heard not one person yell at the Macon coaching staff about anything. I have at past games but not at this particular game. I did hear a few yell "put the rest of your Juniors in"...referring to the fact that the opposing team was made up of not only freshman but upperclassmen as well. In my opinion, I'm glad to see Macon freshman playing upperclassmen, no they don't always win but they learn a whole lot more playing upperclassmen than they would a freshman only team. I guess some people would rather play freshman only teams just to better they're chances of a win but I would rather the team be challenged and learn for the future and this team of freshman certainly have a bright one if the coaching staff and community will let them.

The crowd was small and I tend to tone out the noise but I really feel like if things had gotten as bad as everyone is trying to let on, I certainly would have taken notice of that fact. I've seen many games where the crowd itself has gotten warnings and penalties over getting carried away yet in this game no warnings, no penalties, nothing. Now don't you think that if it was as bad as people are trying to make out that at least a warning would have gone out to the crowd?

Yes, there were people yelling at the refs but what football game have you EVER been to where that didn't happen. When the ref didn't call a blatant face mask....yes there was yelling and when a block in the back was called when it was clearly not a block in the back...yes there was yelling, when blatant things happened and no calls were made...yes there was yelling but it that's not expected then the refs need to find new jobs cause they don't have the backbone for this one. I'm afraid those types of things always have and will always happen and they are to be expected.

Can you really believe that an entire ball game can be played with freshman players and they only had 2 penalties between both teams the entire game..........doesn't happen. Most penalties are not intentional but come on...be realistic, freshman screw up and you are going to have penalties. Yes, the crowd was yelling "do you have a flag", "Oh my gawd, he does have a flag" when they finally threw one but come on ........I really don't think that is anything to get sooooo upset about...do you?

I was there the entire game and for several minutes afterwards and I never saw a single person confront anyone from the opposing team/coaches/opposing fans nor the refs with threats or anything near it so how people are coming up with such nonsense is beyond me.

If the coaching staff doesn't think these kinds of things and worse are said at every game...then they haven't been listening too closely. Maybe the headsets, the cheerleaders, the band, the larger crowds and what not drown out the most of it.........but the same things are said and I've been to every game, high school and freshman.......heck they even say the same things at the Pee Wee and Jr High games that I've attended....it's just for some reason, someone took great offense this time..........and I really wish I understood why? I've seen refs threatened, coaches threatened and more at other area games (not Macon) but none of that took place at this game nor came anywhere near it that I could see. I think someone just wants to stir up things to take the light off the losing myself but that's just my opinion.

There was a recent letter to the editor of the Macon county paper addressed to the head football coach and it wasn't very nice ...maybe it all stems from that, feelings hurt, feathers ruffled etc.....maybe it's the fact that the high school team and the freshman team are both having a lossing season (again), who knows but what I do know is that those young boys have given those coaches and that community everything they've got over the last several months and it is very unfair of anyone to cancel the remainder of their season.......those boys did nothing wrong but they are the ones being punished. Does the coach not think he will lose a bit a respect from those players over being too hot tempered and quck to cancel their season? He's doing this to them and yes they will remember.

In my opinion...no one deserves punishment........because nothing out of the norm happened!

Are your talking about the freshman game or what happen AFTER the game friday night? I wasn't at the freshman game. And I had already left the game friday night when the other stuff happened. So I can't say anything about the matter.

  9. I think our boys will come out and really play their hearts out at this game. SC is a BIG rivial for them. But SC is a very tough team; always have been. Even the 2003 season they were tough (and no I'm not bringing up the past just showing some respect). MC cannot wait until the second have to do something. They are going to have to come out eating nails and pooping tacks.

Where's Queen Bee??? She hasn't put in her two cents on this thread. She is always giving me and Angel a hard time. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

  10. I hope SC follows suit. I would much rather move up to 3a myself. I just wish we could have the same region we had a few years ago in 3a. Those games were fun to watch.

I agree with you there Antwan. Those games and teams were great to watch. Sorry you are going to miss this game, but I'm sure someone will keep you informed about the game. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

    GO TIGERS!!!

  11. Powderpuff schedule???? ...YOUR on the schedule...you get SMOKED......... does that make YOU powder puffff?????????????? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Suprise at halftime???? What......your Band got new uniforms??????

    Actually, our band did get new uniforms. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

  12. I do not know if there is a "Nixon Hollow" located in God's Country. I'll look it up on a map just to make sure.

HOWEVER, what I do know is that there surely is a 28th Avenue North located in Davidson County. THAT WOULD BE WHERE PEARL COHN HIGH SCHOOL IS LOCATED!!!!!

Macon Co. fans know this as well because last year their visit there resulted in a 42-2 beating at the hands of the Firebirds. This year I AM ALREADY ON RECORD AS PREDICTING EITHER A 1-9 OR 0-10 SEASON for the Macon Co. Tigers. All of their fans were shooting off at the mouth and predicting 8-2 & 7-3 types of seasons back during the spring and summer. Now they sit at 0-2 and have yet to play PC, WH, SC, Greenbrier, Sycamore, & Station Camp. ALL OF THOSE TEAMS ARE NOT ONLY BETTER THAN TC & WESTMORELAND BUT THEY ARE ALL TONS BETTER!!!!!

If Macon Co. doesn't find some way to beat Hixson next week then they will not have another shot to legitimately win a football game until the final week of the season when they play at DeKalb Co. SORRY TIGERS FANS BUT THOSE ARE THE FACTS!!!!!

THE FACT IS...you're full of it. MC only looks at one game at a time. Tonight we play PC, they are a tough team and it doesn't look promising for us. But that doesn't mean they won't give it their all. GO TIGERS!!!

  13. Most parents that year completley understood that. If he hadn't went then I would have questioned his ethics cause family comes first PERIOD...

If I remember correctly Coach Dyer told the administrators of the school way before the season started that he would have to miss these two games. He also told his staff and players the same thing. It was not a spur of the moment thing. Everyone that needed to know knew before hand. It was the fans mostly that were mouthing off about it. He did the right thing in going!!!

  14. angel...I just heard who your homecoming opponent is. Do you know?

The students at MCHS will have a great time making their homecoming floats this year..."Pluck the Owls", "Fry the Night Chickens", etc. To bad Angel and I are not students there we could really have some fun with it. Now for the game...well we will dicuss that in a few weeks on here.

  15. You could not hear the PA Announcer at Pearl Cohn????? Are you hearing impaired?????

That guy is like a rapper doing a re-mix or something. I couldn't help but laugh everytime he said something over the system last year when I went and watched the Pearl Cohn-Sycamore game in the playoffs.

If you don't know what I am talking about or even if you do and need your memory refreshed here are some of the things that the guy shouts out over the PA System during a game:

    "Firebirds........Keep the fire burnin"

    "Pearl Cohn.......Don't Play With It"

    "Inside Peanut Butter Outside Jelly"

There are many more as well that I just haven't thought of right now but that guy is a comedy act to listen to during a game on a Friday night. If you can't hear him then the only other place I got for you to go is to Greenbrier where they have a PA guy calling the games that defines the words LOUD & ENTERTAINING!!!!!

My hearing is just fine. The speakers on our side was not working or they were turned off or something. Ask any body. And yes I remember the Greenbrier announcer he was very good at what he does.

  16. At least this year we will have a score board that works and an announcer that BOTH sides can hear. Last year we (Macon Co.) had nothing to go by. We were calling people that stayed at home and listened to the radio to see what was going on. That should have been against rules that there wasn't a score board working.
