I was at both but was referring to the 08 battle. I don't quite remember the 88, was a little young. I do remember riding up with my uncle though.
‘88 & ‘08 were great games. ‘84 and ‘90…..not so much.

Lost to them in '08 too I believe 18-13.
Marion vs Smith games have always been there. Be nice to have you guys down one year.
‘84 was in Jasper. That tractor whistle blew all night!

Maybe it should be the s-hole or black hole. I remember the last time Marion came to the hole they broke some hearts in a monsoon.
Actually Marion has been back since the 88 monsoon. I still can’t believe yall stopped Dirkson from the 1 yard line twice (or was it 3 times).

Maplewood and Jackson County are better than Smith County
Hillsboro id say is even with Smith County though being in a higher classification gives Hillsboro the edge
But i will agree Smith County is better than Stratford, Stratford is a dumpster Fire
You don’t have a clue.

Look who EN as played and look who SC played. You can’t compare point differential. If SC had EN schedule they would be 3-6 right now

Hackett is not an option.

I don't think anyone knows what's going on with this hire other than the ones doing the hiring. I hope they hire soon, these kids haven't worked out as a team in five weeks.
So none of the other coaches are scheduling workouts for the team?

The fact that you can't coach speed is obvious, but I've seen slow, disciplined, and well-coached teams beat teams that were loaded with speed.
I agree but teams that are loaded with speed AND well coached with discipline is what we eventually run into. Alcoa, Catholic, Fulton, Greenville, etc just to name a few.

History suggests it isn't. Show me a great SC team and I'll show you a program that gets bumped in the playoffs against an athletically superior team. You can't coach speed
Unless you’re from Trousdale County where they believe coaching magically gives them superior team speed over most of the teams in 2A lol.

Until smith county and Gordonsville combine schools then the county schools will never be dominant in sports. All that it does is split the resources and talent across 2 schools for no reason other than some baby boomers and their precious rivalry. Newsflash: the younger people there want to combine bc it makes the most sense for the county. Imagine how good the combined Carthage and Gordonsville football teams from like 2000-2012would have been. More than likely would have multiple state championships. Ive heard also that SC doesn’t have a athletics director so that’s never a good thing. That job could be desirable but under the current circumstances then no one would really wanna mess with it. I remember when Maynard was there that stadium was constantly packed out in black and now it’s barely anyone at games and only 30 or so players. It’s sad
Several more deep playoff runs, yes. Multiple state championships, no. Not enough speed even with both schools combined.

Consolidation will unfortunately never happen in Smith County.

Nobody wants to come work in this place. The pay isn't good enough for the headaches they will have. I mean they ran off two SC boys that where head coaches of the two most successful programs at the school. If outsiders can see this why can't the people of this county. Hire Murray he wants it.
Who are these 2 SC boys that were supposedly ran off?

I would have made Hackett tell me no. He hasn't been finished long. I would also make Stephen Jackson tell me no; he's still coaching. I've also heard he's waiting for a big job, and he'll probably get one. I wonder if Smith is big enough.
Hackett has no interest.

I would make a drive to the Sequatchie Valley after the season is over.

UHS has made the 4th round, semi finals twice, 96 and 2013
1996 was Maynord not Herron as coach.

Caine seems to have diffrent styles than Herron. But ultimately it will be wins on the field that determine what style works best for the Bees. Caine comes with high regard as a hard worker and expects his players and staff to work as hard. Herron took bees deep in the playoffs multiple times and lifted the bees to heights never seen. Only time will tell.
When did these “multiple deep runs” in the playoffs take place? He only had one year beyond the second round that I recall.

F5 by 4 TDs

Interesting matchup. First meeting between these programs as far as I know. Anyone got any insight on Redbank? They had a close first round against Sequatchie Co and blow out York in round 2 which I find puzzling.
-
42-7, WOW. Beat Sequatchie by a TD and blow out York. Hmmmmmm

Great game. #25 for Louden is one heck of a ball player. Great job Big Owls!
ER vs York trip to Chattanooga on the line
in Class 1A & Class 2A

East by 20+ if they play disciplined.
