  1. On the offensive side of the ball, Oak Ridge has two young up and coming coaches. Jeff Miner is the offensive coordinator and Chris Layton is the offensive line coach. Both of these young men have alot of energy and a great knowledge of the game. Oak Ridge's offense will be somrthing to be reckoned with as the season progresses. These two former players take alot of pride in their work and won't allow their program to slip.

  2. AE will win in a tight game. This rivalry is one of the best I have ever seen. AE is usually a little bit better at this time of year. Fulton has caught up by the end of the season in the past. It will be interesting to see if that holds true this time. Fulton makes the greatest strides during the season on the offensive line. I'm anxious to see if AE can make the same type of improvement. They have not in the past. BTW, who coaches the o line for the Roadrunners?

  3. HTV, Let me first say that I know you are in tune with what is happening in Powell and that you are close to the people involved. If Powell is happy with the status quo, that is fine. Please spare me with the talk about the new head coach needing to have the respect of the assistants from the beginning. Fulkerson came to Karns from Farragut. He was not the "peoples choice" to replace Keselring. Two coordinators from Karns quit as soon as Fulkerson was hired. Fulkerson came in to do a job, and do it his way, and if you wanted to be a part of it you got on board. You don't hire (whether it be a head coach or a CEO) a leader based on how happy he/she will make the assistant coaches feel. The assistant coaches at Powell may very well be top notch. Stephens was well liked and respected. But the bottom line is the team has underperformed based on its talent level the last 3 years. Anyone familiar with the skill players and Lineman that Powell has trotted onto the field lately would admit that it would stack up very nicely against Maryville and Central. Great coaches and staffs get the most out of their talent. The staff at Powell has not done that. To think otherwise is akin to further burying your head in the sand.

    Puppy,

You are incorrect about this info. From your post you are suggesting that the coordinators just weren't on board with Fulkerson. That simply isn't true. The d coordinator left as soon as Fulkerson was hired, he had his mind made up beforehand. He went to AE and is now at Oak Ridge. The o coordinator stayed, and the new d coordinator was let go after one season. During which, he made the defensive game plan that upset DB. I understand this is off topic, but the record needs to be set straight. As far as Fulkerson at Powell, I agree with HTV. Bad fit, all the way around.

  4. Livingston will win this game due to them being more disciplined! And by stepping and playing tough, stingy defense.

Are you suggesting that AE is not disciplined? It amazes me how people assume all that AE does is march out some athletes and cut them loose. Trust me, Graham coaches football. It is not just a random, draw it up in the dirt type of team. They have a scheme and they will try to execute it, like everyone else.

  5. AE should win this game. However, the coaching staff must make sure that they don't start looking ahead to a possible rematch with Fulton or Catholic. I have a great deal of faith in Coach Graham. He has had alot of playoff success as an assistant. I'm hoping that tranlates into success as a Head Coach. Good Luck, Roadrunners.

  6. If Fulton loses this game do they miss the playoffs since they lost to both AE and Anderson early in the year????

That would stink if the Falcons missed the playoffs after the way they've beaten Catholic and Carter the past two weeks.

3A teams around the state are praying for a LA win next week :thumb:

Yes. If Fulton loses they are out and Anderson is in.
