    There is a reason why Hampton doesn't seem to be getting the respect they think they deserve. Who have they played? No offense, but most of the teams that Hampton has played are very weak, usually. That may be different this year, but That part of the state doesn't, annually, produce good quality 1A football teams. Another reason...what has Hampton done in the past? They don't have a dominant past record like Boyd, AE, TC, Fulton, Riverdale, Maryville, Alcoa, or any of the privates in 2A. Repsect can be given, but earned. Yes, maybe Hampton is good this year...but to answer your question the past doesn't match up with some of the teams ranked higher than Hampton. Not dogging Hampton, just answering your quesiton with my opinion...and you know what opinions are like.

     

    Oh they have played quality teams in the past three years

     

    Knox cathlic, Gatlinburg Pittman,for the past twoyear just building up experiance

     

    oh and did i mention State Champs Alcoa last year

     

    and remember we were the smallest 2-a school last year

     

    But we are one of the biigest 1-a schools this year

     

    all i know is that we have played good teams

     

    and that we are a very good football team...Nuff said

    Hey Nemesis, I'm glad that you would take the time to ask people about me. I'm even glad that you would create a user name against me. It just proves that the King can bring it out of the fans. As for reliving what I never had, I will correct you in saying that when you go from a 5'4 100+ lb. freshman bookworm to starting left guard in only 4 years, then you've done something. I don't have to relive anything.

     

    As for handling the loss, I'm doing very well. In fact, I respect Cloudland more and Hampton less. Cloudland basically whipped the dogs all over the field when they were healthy. Hampton just took advantage of key injuries and I give coach Lunsford credit. He's one smart cat. He took advantage of Horney and Turbyfield not being out there on defense. He ran that same dive play through the C-gap because he knew that freshman was the only one that fat 71 could block. And he knew that his QB could not throw the ball against a superior defensive backfield. With that being said, we shall meet again. The outcome will be very different. Playoff time is Cloudland time. Whooooooooo! :D

    Well that "fat#71" wooped up on those coudland boys pancakeing 77 and 61 countless of times

     

    i do to hope that cloudland wins and gets to come to the Dog House cuase it will be alot worse than up at orr feild!!

     

    u know what the funny thing was it seemed like thier was more Hampton fans up at orr feild,, when the D needed to get the crowd pumped ###### was loud as if they were at home

    I would like to know what is up with the Hampton Bulldogs not geting any respect?

     

    I mean they beat a very very good Happy Valley team and and a very good 5th ranked in the state Cloudland team at orr feild, which every one know's is hard very hard to do.

     

    And after all they are 9-1 only losing to a good 4-a team in Johnson County and that by 4 points..

     

    so come on, can we get some respect!

     

    Lets go Bulldogs take it to them in the playoffs....

     

    And lets earn our respect

    Are you one of the best people in the world. There is so much good in all of us and so much bad in all of us , its hard to tell the difference in any of us. Ye without sin ,cast the first stone, judge not ,least ye be judged.

    All I know is the Dogs are MEC Champs and they are ready for the playoffs!!

    Hampton fans better not count a victory right yet, theres alot of pride in Roan Mt. Cloudland will not go down without a fight. Hampton better come to play. I know these boys,they have Heart, this is their superbowl.

    Like the saying goes

    Congratualtions to Adam Townsed being selected to WJHL player of the week. Apparently it was on the sports edition last night, but read the article on their website. It talks about his last touchdown, 47 yards of slashing, darting and ducking. One of the most spectacular runs I have ever witnessed. Once again, congrats to Adam and the team. 18 hours and counting, I am ready to throw up.

    HAMPTON RUNNING BACK ADAM TOWNSEND IS USUALLY THE SMALLEST PLAYER ON THE FIELD.

     

    "IT'S NOT THE DOG IN THE FIGHT BUT THE FIGHT IN THE DOG." SAYS TOWNSEND.

     

    BUT LAST FRIDAY NIGHT AGAINST RIVAL HAPPY VALLEY HE GAME UP WITH THE BIGGEST PLAYS OF THE GAME. "MADE ME REAL HAPPY THAT EVERYBODY PLAYED LIKE THEY DID." TOWNSEND ADDS "THE LINE HAS NEVER BLOCKED SO GOOD." TEAMMATE MICHAEL LUNSFORD SAYS HIS STAR RUNNING BACK MAKES EVERYONE'S JOB ON THE OFFENSE EASIER. " WHEN HE RUNS LIKE HE DID AGAINST HAPPY VALLEY, AND BREAKS THOSE LONG RUNS, IT KEEPS US FROM HAVING TO DRIVE."

     

    TOWNSEND RUSHED FOR 267 YARDS ON 28 CARRIES. AND ADDED 3 TOUCHDOWNS IN THE BULLDOGS 28-21 WIN OVER THE WARRIORS. "IT'S HARD TO IMAGINE A KID THAT SIZE AND THAT STRONG HAS THE QUICKNESS AND THE VISION TO DO THE THINGS THAT HE DOES." SAYS LEGENDARY COACH J.C. CAMPBELL.

     

    TOWNSEND SAYS HIS SMALL STATURE ACTUALLY GIVES HIM AN ADVANTAGE. "OUR LINE IS SO BIG I CAN HIND BEHIND THEM." NOT SURPRISINGLY TOWNSEND EMULATES SOME OF THE GREATEST NFL BACKS OF ALL TIME. " I LIKE BARRY SANDERS AND EMMITT SMITH, I REALLY LIKE TO WATCH BARRY RUN."

     

    TOWNSEND'S BARRY SANDERS MOMENT CAME LATE IN THE GAME ON FRIDAY, A SLASHING AND DASHING, DUCKING AND DARTING 47 YARDS TOUCHDOWN RUN THAT PUT THE GAME OUT OF REACH. "HE'S JUST AMAZING." SAYS COACH CAMPBELL.

     

    CONGRATULATIONS TO HAMPTON RUNNING BACK ADAMS TOWNSEND. THIS WEEKS WATAUGA ORTHOPAEDICS PLAYER OF THE WEEK.

    Since Dobyns Bennett turned down the TV delayed broadcast of their game with Science Hill, I think it is only right for them to do the Cloudland-Hampton game. And yes, your game is being considered along with three others. I don't think they have shown a 'small school' game all year, and this game will be the best of the best in 1A, without a doubt. Probably the biggest 1A game in the state this week. Call'em...........the guys name is Jay Sandos.

     

     

    I think this game should be the one they pick alot of people will be there, college scouts, and alot of press but since the game is on thursday alot of people that want to see this game bad wont get to
