  1. 21-14 CA at halftime. After scoring on 4th and 13 with under a min. to go. Should have been tied at the half. McEwen gave them all they could handle in the first half. McEwen didn't come out with the same fire in the second half and couldn't hang. CA is a good team. They like to run the score up. I think they might surprise someone in the next couple of weeks. But don't see them going to far. Not humble enough. They get the lead and let their attitudes cause silly mistakes that a more experienced winning team will take advantage of.

Gotta go with the boys in Blue @ JB :thumb: Heritage has to play shut down Defense.

Clarksville Aca. shouldnt have any prob with ER.

McEwen did surprize me last week with a win but I think their winning ways are over this week. NCS big.

  3. He is not one of the most respected coaches in the district and you can tell by some of the posts in here that the fans dont like him they talked about how he did nothing for Puckett. And there administration didnt do ne ting when Jared got hit by a fan or when they took a basketball and hit one of our players with it while we were warming up. McEwen is DIRTY and everyone knows it.

congrats to heritage for their district tournament win. I hope they have success in the regions. As for McEwen playing dirty, no they play hard. A hard foul is not always a dirty play. Throwing the ball at an East Lit player at the end of the game resulting in the player being ejected is a dirty play.

Your can think whatever you want, that's life in a free country. As for me, I think several teams in this district is well respected and McEwen is one of them. If you want a true assessment poll the coaches in the district. That's the only way to get a true read of what district teams think. Since this is impossible, it's left up to bias thoughts and comments. good luck all 10A teams in the regions.

Are you sure Petrone has not gotten a technical this year? Or are you saying that no PLAYER has gotten a T?

McEwen recieved no technical fouls on players or coach this year. By the way, what did #55 do when the coach put him in. I think he set a screen for a drive to the basket and then was taken out for the press. What dirty act did he perform?

  5. Who will win this rivalry?Wavo defense is strong as usual. They must have an exceptional defensive coordinator.Does anyone no who he is?Its great to see a Waverly throwing the ball.In the years past,i thought i was watching a McEwen team on the Waverly field.Keep up the good work coaches.Wavo by 16.Should be a great homecoming this weekend.

    Wavo-34

    HC-12(AFTER SCRUBS ARE IN)

    thanks pal

  6. Who knows what happened to our kicking game. It went south and has been there for a long time now. Its often overlooked but one of the most important aspects of the game. We always had good kickers when I played (had a kicker who could nail 48 yarders in a game), but haven't seen anyone with any consistency in a long time. We also ran the same play on 2 pt conversions that they attempted in OT. Whatever happened to putting the ball on the left hash and allowing the RB to outrun the defense to the corner?

As for this week, this should be another hard hitting defensive game. I am impressed with our defense and I think they can keep Bruceton in check. Pass defense is still suspect, but Bruceton is a run first team. I like our depth at running back and taking the Warriors in this one 12-7.

who are you oremeinkeig? were you a senior during the 88 season?

  7. Why do so many people like to get on to coaches all the time.

Maybe you guys should get certified and see if you can do a better job.

If you are a coach at another school, then be careful what you think and say. What goes around comes around.

Just because a coach wins alot of games don't make him a great coach. Many of the coaches at places that struggle work harder and are actually better coaches than many of the ones that just have the best players.

this is one of the best posts i have read.

  8. Wayne County would be a beautiful place to live and raise your family or retire to. The problems are the same as many small schools have:

    1. The teacher & coaching pay is not very good

    2. Everyone in the town is an expert but knows nothing

    3. If you don't go to the correct church you don't get what you need with the school board

    4. The parents for some reason don't want the boy's to work hard. It's ok for the girls basketball program to work hard but let's not push the boy's/

    5. They coach football with 3 coaches when they really need 6

    6. No one has a clue about a true strength & conditioning program. They feel that if you work on a farm that is good enough but what they don't tell you is most of the farm work is done by machinery & very little is manual labor.

Those are the cold hard fact about Wayne County.

excellent, excellent post. this is also the case at many communities throughout middle tennessee

  9. Does anyone else see this? I hope I'ts just coincidence that I have seen so many incidents. Someone please tell me that it's just me. I would hate to think that girls everywhere show such a lack of respect for their coaches, teammates, and school. I have a unique view into this. I am not only a coach, (not of basketball) but I am married to a coach, (not of basketball either) and I am also a parent so I've got that angle too. The girls I've seen have zero respect for anyone, and their parents aren't doing anything to help. Even if you don't have a response to this, please pay attention. As a coach, respect your girls, and DEMAND respect back. As a parent, set an example by respecting your child's coach yourself, respect that your child has chosen to be an athlete, and DEMAND the respect of your child. Too often a child sees the lack of respect parents have for coaches and it translates into the kid not respecting the coach either. If they can't respect the coach, they can't respect officials, teammates, or the game all together.

this is one of the best posts i have ever read

  10. Not saying this directly relates to these two specifically, but coaching today is different. The attitudes of kids AND THEIR PARENTS make it challenging to say the least.

Having to deal with "why isn't my angel starting?" used to be simple. The coach pointed to the door. Today, the coach often has to listen to it because the administration listens to it.

    excellent post

  11. Does our team have what it takes to win the region trophy? I think so. Solid running game and can throw when we need to. Everybody is talking about DL and CC but they better consider CW!!!!  I aint saying we are the champs, I and just saying, now is the time boys....Lets get ready to rumble!!!!
