  1. This should be a really good region tournament. I'm making the trip to Pat Head Summitt gymnasium Saturday night to watch Cheatham play Summit and I'll also be making trips to Creekwood next Tuesday and Thursday night to watch the rest of the region tourney. I think it'll be a Cheatham County vs Creekwood region championship matchup with this game being a toss up. Creekwood should win their side of the bracket and it also helps that they'll have home-court advantage the whole tournament.

  2. I made the trip down to Stewart County last night and watched some really good basketball. Every time Harpeth scored Cheatham answered right back and ended up winning by about 12 I think. Creekwood beat Waverly 71-63 in OT. Rollie Plunkett played real good for Creekwood and ended up having 26 points. I'm making the trip back to Stewart County tonight to watch the championship game between Cheatham County and Creekwood, which should be a really good game.

  3. I believe Sycamore can win the district regular season title and the tournament title at Vol State if they play together and no one tries to put on a one man show. I like the way Coach Worsley has this team playing down the stretch of the season even though they lost to White House last Saturday. Sycamore's points will come because of the scoring from Froedden, Fuqua, Gentry, and Brown, but if they want to win the District Tournament title then they have to play better defense and if they do this they can make some noise in the Region Tourney. Does anyone know where the Region Tournament will be held at?

  4. Sycamore beat Harpeth tonight by a score of 66-62. Dempsey played really well for Sycamore and Caruthers played equally well for Harpeth. Sycamore pretty much ran an isolation offense for Dempsey and no one on Harpeth had an anwer for him, but then no one on Sycamore could stop Caruthers. Sycamore has to start getting back on defense bc Harpeth got tons of easy buckets in transisition. For the Sycamore pep club, I thought it was pretty low down when they asked Trey "who's your daddy?" Anyways my War Eagles got the win and they need to win out in the district for the rest of the season and get ready for the district tourney /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  5. If the Tennessee Tigers that I'm thinking of that is playing in this tournament, they should win because they have Vanderbilt Committment and Top 50 player John Jenkins, Z Mason, and Hunter Miller. The team I'm thinking of is called the Tennessee YOMCA Tigers, but I'm pretty sure this is the same Tennessee Tigers team. The Midstate Ballerz also have a good shot of winning this tourney too.

  6. Can the Hoover Bucs get back to winning state championships and be a dynasty since Propst and all the legends have left such as Ross Wilson, Brandon Clear, and Michael Dejohn?

  7. word is a terrific coach with cheatham county history turned in a resume last week...all i can say is wow!!!!!!!!!

From what I know, whoever this terrific coach with cheatham county history is not even a frontrunner for this job and is not in the top 3.

  8. I hate to see us take one on the chin like that to end such a spectacular season. NO ONE gave us ANY hope of making it where we did. I felt we could the whole way. This is a talented team. We lost to Ridgeway due to 3 reasons. Fatigue, We left everything we had out on the floor against antioch thursday night. Everyone played there heart out and busted there butt that game and played the best game we had all year, and the hardest. Coaching, You give Harris a week to get a game plan together and he is a great coach. It was clear he had not prepared for the next round in the least bit, and was out coached the whole game. He didnt call timeouts when he should have I felt and he just didnt make adjustments, when he tells the paper at halftime I told the boys they cant hit like that all night, thats not coaching at all, BUT Harris had a great year this year and has become a GREAT coach. Have alot of respect for what he did with this team after a 5-5 district start. The last reason is Athleticism. They just were flat out more athletic. Siegel is a very very athletic team, but they dont get pressed like that ever and they are not use to having people on the other team that are more athletic. I love the boys on this Siegel team and if you ask me they will be back the next 2 years. I hope we can find a true point guard next season to take over for my favorite player in Siegel basketball history Tyler Cutter. The kid has been the J.J. Redick of our program gettin hated on all the time. Its remarkable what all he has done. If not for him we wouldnt have been where we were last night. Congrats on a GREAT 4 years Tyler Cutter. Go up to Indiana State and make a name for yourself. He is a better player then ever given credit for. The Siegel basketball program has 2 state semifina appearances in 5 years of exsistence and 3 state tournament apperances in 5 years. Its becoming a premiere basketball program of Middle Tennessee no matter what anyone want to believe. With the talent we have we CAN go back to state 2 times. This team was fun to watch. I sure am going to miss watching Tyler Cutter. Guess im going to have to get ESPN full court next year. Congratulations Stars. You made Siegel students an alumni very proud. Keep up the hard work and dedication and we will see you at the state tournament again next year. GO STARS.

Like that post. Yea Cutter is a whole lot better than people give him credit for, besides us Siegel fans. Cutter will have a great career at Indiana State and he will probably be playing professional someday somewhere. He reminds me alot of a young Steve Nash. Cutter was an incredible leader for the Stars and they will greatly miss his scoring, leadership, and toughness he gave every game. I'm sure he will continue to work hard this summer to get ready for the Sycamores next year and his dad will continue to help him out too because his dad played college basketball also. Good luck Cutter /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  9. Siegel takes on Ridgeway tomorrow night at 8:45 at the Murphy Center in the Class AAA Semifinals. I expect another big game from Tyler Cutter, an Indiana State signee. I also expect big games from the trio of sophomores, Levon Tate, Marc Gooch, and Kerry Hammonds. If Siegel can play like they did tonight and handle Ridgeway's press, which killed Clarksville the game in the 2nd half tonight, they should be fine. Siegel by 5 in a close one. Go Stars /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  10. I'm really glad that Siegel won tonight after everybody except us Siegel fans thought there was no way they were going to pull the upset. Tyler Cutter played really good, he had 14 points and he at least had 10 assists. Cutter controlled the game and handled the ball extremely well tonight because he's used to that kind of competition and knows what it takes to win. Gooch, Kerry, and Levon all played really well too. They each had 11 points apiece. Siegel plays Rigdeway tomorrow night at 8:45 and should be a great game. If Siegel can handle their press that they put on Clarksville tonight in the 2nd half, they should be fine. Go Stars /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. Dyer County by 10. I expect big games again from CJ Crittendon, Dejaun Taylor, Jeremy Kemble, and Justin Blake. Hopefully, "J-Blake" will be hitting more shots Friday, even though he did have 12 points tonight. I would like to see the Dyer County pep club and fans get crazy Friday like last year-"DC get up DC!!!!" Good luck Choctaws /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  12. There were two things Drew Maddux and CPA were mad about tonight:

    1. The clockeeper put 7.0 seconds back up on the clock when it should of been 5 or 4.5 seconds, not 7.

    2. Rex Pierce's game winning three caused them to believe his foot was on the line, I couldn't see it from where I was sitting, but it was a close call.

Drew Maddux then stormed the court after the game was over and it was all that one big cop could do to hold him back from the referees. Then CPA fans started throwing things out on the floor. I was rooting for Dyer County, but I believe if it would of went to overtime, CPA would of won because CJ Crittendon fouled out and Justin Blake was in foul trouble too. Hunter Miller came out scared to death imo because he had 6 turnovers in the first half, then he finally settled down and had 15 points. Z Mason played a great game and had 28 points, but CPA should have been feeding him the ball the whole time and he should of been posting up the whole time instead of standing at the elbow half of the game. I'm glad Dyer County won. CJ Crittendon played an outstanding game on both ends of the floor and finished with 16. Jeremy Kemble played great and had 20 points, Dejaun Taylor had 12 points and Justin Blake had 10 points for Dyer County. Dyer County plays at 2:00 tomorrow against Knowxville-Fulton, who beat Livingston Academy tonight 92-55. Should be a great game tomorrow at the Murphy Center. Good luck DC!!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  13. Siegel, Clarksville, and Dyer County will have the most fan support of anybody in the tourney. Siegel will have the Siegel Nation along with their fans and some of Murfreesboro. Dyer County will literally bring all of Dyer County. Clarksville will be loaded with fan support as they will bring their humongous white wave /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  14. Antioch by 5 in a close one, but I hope Siegel wins this one though. I expect Cutter to have a big game becuase he's used to playing against this kind of comepetition in AAU and Cutter has had state tourney experience two times already. Montori, Kerry, Gooch, and Tate are going to have to be on their "A" game and not get caught up in all the hype. Montori is going to have to be a beast in the post and on the boards. Kerry, Gooch, and Tate are going to have to knock down shots, play solid defense, and handle the ball. Harris will have the Stars ready come Thursday night. Siegel Nation also needs to be a factor too. Go Stars /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  15. As a Siegel fan....

Please give us anyone besides Antioch or Ridgeway first round and I'll be happy.

Those are the 2 teams nobody wants to draw first.

The others seem to be fairly close with the way they are playing this time of year.

Harris Hooligans, I think I want to add White Station to your list too. Siegel lost in the Final Four three years ago to Ridgeway and in the first round two years ago against Whites Creek. I'm picking the Stars to the Final Four /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  16. And oh yeah... get used to seein Siegel's name in the bracket. They are in the state tournament with 4 sophomores. ARE YOU SERIOUS???? Its back baby.... Siegel Nation DOMINATION!!!!!!

Heck yea Boro baller. I know they are the underdogs, but I'm taking the Siegel Stars. If Cutter, Levon, and Montori play like they did tonight, and Kerry and Gooch step it up one more notch, they are going to be tough to beat /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  17. Siegel won tonight 80-62. Tyler Cutter had a great game tonight. He scored 24 points, had alot of assists, several steals and rebounds as well. Cutter pretty much controlled the game tonight. Montori Hughes was a beast tonight in the post after posting 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kerry and Marc Gooch also played well tonight, too. The Siegel Nation wasn't as hype as I thought they would be tonight, but they didn't have to be. Siegel plays in the state tourney next week at MTSU. They will probably play on Thursday night. I'm so glad to see Cutter lead the Stars back to the state tourney after so many haters, besides Siegel fans, doubted that he could /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
