  1. Sycamore should win this one, but not easily though. Sycamore is going to have to cover Perry Horkins, who is 2nd in the Midstate receiving totals. Sycamore's secondary will have to step it up a notch because Harpeth is a pass-oriented team. I expect a big night from Sycamore signal caller Jake Simms. A Sycamore and Macon Co. win along with a Greenbrier loss to White House gets Sycamore in the playoffs, like BC stated earlier.

    Sycamore 28 Harpeth 17

  2. I expect Blackman to be really good this year, they gave Riverdale a run for their money during our district, so we'll see what they'll during the season.

It's going to be hard for Blackman to replace their leading scorer from last season, David Barnes.

  3. Just curious but has anyone actually watched Cutter play this summer?

If so, just how good is he?

Yea I watched Cutter play at the Nike Memorial Day Classic at Ensworth, but that was earlier in the summer, and he had about 15 the game I saw and he was playing against some of the best high school players in the nation. Cutter is obviously pretty good bc he had about 8 Mid Majors offer him, I believe, before he committed to Indiana State. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  4. you sound like coach froedden. cheatham will finish in top 4 no matter what. and think what you want, but your sadly mistaken. and your lil war eagles have talent but no where near the leadership cheatham has. great leaders and leadership can get any team farther than expected. sycamore has NO leadership and it'll hurt them in the long run. talent doesn't always win kid

This is not Coach Froedden and you sound like Jake Williams getting on here and posting about yourself. Sycamore had lots of leadership there last year, but when they played Liberty Tech deep in the tournament, a team with lots of talent, they got beat by 20 or so. Leadership can only get you so far because you got to have talent to win games.

  5. I never knew starters sat the bench. You'll see who he is. He and Mark Campbell are leaders and both good shooters, especially for 3. Cheatham also has Tario Dansby(young and can finish at the rim really well), Tyler Stratton(quick and finishes real well also), and Chad Martin(does a lil of everything) who are also good offensive threats. Ppl dont need to be doubting this Cheatham team. They are loaded with offense and are scrappy, hard workers

Cheatham will not finish in the top four in the district and Jake Williams is not good at all.

  6. Not fair to compare how Cutter's team did when White County was far more talented than Siegel- top to bottom. Cutter will be playing in the Missouri Valley Conference next year. Name 100 other players in the state that have the ability to even play college basketball - let alone in one of the top basketball conferences in the country.

Don't get me wrong, I love White County's team. They are going to have a hard time keeping everyone happy this year, because they are so deep. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a run at the state title this year. I don't think Siegel's team will be able to hold a candle to White County again this year. If you are a player or fan of White County, good luck and I hope to be watching you in Murfreesboro come state tournament time. Delaney plays like a winner. He hits the open man and plays hard on defense and can score when called upon. I think he is the engine that makes that team run. Greene is a scoring machine and plays that role very well. I like the one guard that has long side burns and is quick and has a nice shot. Their big young post player is very fundamentally sound. And I know you have more players that are good too. They might have been my favorite team to watch all year - including Maryville.

Then, next year, I hope to catch one of Cutter's games on TV.

Exactly catuballer, White Co. had a way better team the Siegel did last year and Cutter still put up about 25 on them. Siegel will be the team to beat in this district. Cutter, an Indiana State committment, and comapny will be hard to beat here in about a month or two. I would like to see the Stars back in the State Tournament come March.

  7. I'm taking Harpeth to win the district. I expect Giltner and co. to take care of business and get to the Boro. Harpeth is extremely talented this year and they also have experience. Harpeth is also one of my preseason picks for the State tourney come March also. I expect Sycamore to finsh second. Sycamore has some talent, but they have no leadership and they don't have that much experience either. I hate to bash on my War Eagles, but sorry. The rest is as follows-Creekwood, Fairview, Cheatham County, Waverly, Montgomery Central, and Stewart County.

  8. I'm taking Siegel to win the district. I expect Cutter, an Indiana State committment, to lead the Stars back to the State Tourney come March also. Cutter will be dishing dimes and knocking down his three pointers as usual, at least I hope so. They have a long way to go though because they are still kind of young. Gooch is one of the best athletes in 7AAA, if not the best, and it will be interesting to see how much he has improved since last year. Also, look out for Cookeville transfer Levon Tate. He was the Upper Cumberland freshman of the year last year and he's improving rapidly too.
