1. The Firebirds of Pearl-Cohn travel to Sycamore to take on the War Eagles this coming Friday night for homecoming in a crucial 4-3A battle. The Firebirds return Sr. QB/DB Deaunte Mason from their Semifinal team a year ago. I know the War Eagles are seeking revenge after the Firebirds put the out in the 3A State Quarterfinals last year. On the offensive side of the ball for the War Eagles, QB Jake Simms and RB Cory Carrigan will lead the attatck. I am expecting a big game from Brentwood Academy transfer Tyler Cherry. The 6'5 Junior WR/FS needs to step it up big time after he has been in a 2 game slump. If the War Eagles are going to pass the ball, the O-line needs to give Simms enough time to find his receivers. PC's line and Cheatham's line are a whole different world. On the definsive side of the ball, the War Eagles secondary better be prepared or Deaunte Mason will have fun picking apart Sycamore's secondary. Well I'm sticking with my War Eagles 24-21.

  2. Well the War Eagles man-handled the Cheatham County cubs tonight at Mke Jarreau field in Ashland City 35-6. Sycamore got off to a great start with a 70 yd. TD run by Junior QB Jake Simms. Simms and Carrigan did some great work on the ground for the War Eagles tonight. Sycamore's defense made some good stops on the run, but Cheathams receivers sometimes slipped behind Sycamore's DB's and dropped the passes. Sycamore's secondary is going to have to step it up big time against Deaunte Mason and Co. from Pearl Cohn. Sycamore also needs to get the passing game going, but hey they won tonight and thats all that matters. Good job Sycamore and be ready for PC next Friday for homecoming.

  3. Tyler Cutter, Siegel's point guard, has chosen to continue his basketball career at Indiana State. Cutter played this summer with the Tennessee Travelers and he had a stellar summer. Look for Cutter to lead the Stars to the State Tourney this coming March.

  4. The Tennessee Travelers finished the day 1-1, losing to Athletes First and beating the Arizona Stars. The Travs got great guard play from Tyler Cutter, Kevin Giltner, and Josh Henley. Tyler Cutter, imo, is the best point guard in Tennessee. Tahj Wells had performed solid in the post with some dunks. The Travs play at 11:00 tomorrow against Team Florida.

THey lost their second game by 12 to the Playaz from New Jersey. They started out horrible and were behind by 21 and then made a decent game of it. They play agin tonight at 10:30.

  7. QUOTE(Harris @ Apr 11 2007 - 02:25 PM) 826435061Jimmy Oden signs with Lipscomb today. Congrats.

Congrats to the former Siegel Star for signing with Lipscomb, a member of the A-Sun. He had a great career at Siegel after leading the Stars to 2 State Tournament appearances and I thought he was one of the best point guards in the state last year. This is a huge commitment for Coach Scott Sanderson and the Lipscomb staff. Oden will fit right in at Lipscomb because of the style of ball the play. Oden should immediately replace graduating Lipscomb point guard Trey Williams. Lipscomb also signed Josh Slater from Lipscomb High School and this duo should be a great backcourt in years to come. Congrats to Oden and good luck in his future years at Lipscomb. I hope to watch him some there.

  8. QUOTE(theglove d-up @ Apr 7 2007 - 06:15 PM) 826432006I think it is quite possible that all of Pleasant View is retarded. It is certainly not something to boast about that the coach resigned because the community wanted his head. I think it is pretty sorry that a human would be run out of their job and have their livelihood affected by a group of individuals who had differing opinions than he, what is this world coming to? So and so doesn't like the coach so lets get him fired or force him out, great idea, NOT. I would be ashamed if I were in association with any of those who tried to have someone's job taken from them without a great reason, and I know the reasons first hand. "He has my daughter playing the point guard and she should be a two guard." "He's trying to get Becca a scholarship and not gettin the other girls involved." "He only recognized the seniors at the banquet." Yada yada yada, who gives a rip, you are sending a ridiculous message to your children and should be ashamed of yourselves. How can the children grow up to be upstanding adults when their parents still haven't grown up yet???

GloveDup, i agree with you. I was at the banquet also. All them girls complain about everything. If Derrick didnt do something right then all of the would go crazy. Derrick is a good coach and knows what he's talking about. The girls didn't care and they didn't WORK hard ENOUGH and they expected to get good results. There was about 2 or 3 of them that wanted to get better and work hard and that was about it, IMO.
