No Jealousy, just the facts. Both Wasson and Hassell practiced with Lebanon in the summer prior to their freshmen year. Then after some persuading, since you don't want to call it recruiting, were persuaded to go to Wilson Central. So they started their high school career elsewhere.
Congratulations to Wilson Central for Recruiting and for throwing your region final game on your way to a State Title. Congrats on another Tainted Title.
What? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Yea, because WC obviously had no calls go against them the entire regulation /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
If your reason was because the refs were just horrid, ok. But you make it sound like the refs made one bad call the entire game against your team and that voids the victory.

Sweet.
Congrats WC & Millington.

Go Wildcats

I have no idea what that has to do with anything. Noone is classless for storming the court after a game, especially one that qualifies you for state. What do you want everyone to be like after they win, Peyton Manning?
Besides, our team was not ready to shake hands immediately at the horn. There was 0 problem from Antioch.

QUOTE(WCplaya22 @ Mar 4 2007 - 01:08 PM) 826399388This game was out of control, at least when it came to Central's side. They couldn't get anything going on either end of the floor. They only lead at one point of the game which was the very beginning. I got to give Antioch props for playin hard and more passion than central, but they aren't as good as they played. WC had horrible game and the refs were horrible for both teams but especially for Central.
Coach Brandon look flustered the whole game. I don't think he even knew what was going on and how to handle it. As for chemistry, that wasn't the problem. When your playing for a spot at the state tourney, whether or not you like your teammates shouldn't come into play and it didn't.
In the end, WC played horrible and was not coached well. Antioch played great for them and definitely had some luck on their side because #10 is not as good as she thinks she is. I still got to give it up to Antioch for playin hard and passionate. The only thing is after Antioch won they were pretty disrespectful by making WC wait to shake hands which puts a damper on their win in my opinion.
Eh anyone who just beat the #1 team to go to state would have done the same. Was WCHS classless when they stormed midcourt (with their fans) after they beat McGavock in '04? No.
-
Gunn was just mostly doing drive up layups and noone was guarding the post. But she made some incredible shots even when someone got there to try and block it.
I dunno it just seemed like Jenkins and Hassell were really straying defensively tonight.
-
Yea I believe most people did. It is definitely harder when your the hunted instead of the underdog like last year.
GL To Greenville too.

QUOTE(cobrafan90 @ Mar 3 2007 - 09:59 PM) 826398881Way to do Antioch!
Its amazing how many losing teams complain about the refs. From the box score seems like WC couldn't guard the "gnat"(30 pts). Next time use OFF.
Was that #10? Yea, she was downright amazing.
-
Lol duh.
WC still should have won regardless but man those refs were attrocious. At least, I think getting fouled while your shooting the ball and make it is 2 points and a shot.....not a 1 on 1 /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> (and no there is alot more I would criticize the refs, like LET BOTH TEAMS PLAY).
I don't know why the refs are so bad in TSSAA because I remember when I was in high school it was the same way. Then you get to state tournament and the refs actually know what they are doing and let both teams play.
(I'm not basing that off last year solely either /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> )
But yea, I repeat, WC still should have won this game.

Antioch was boxing out and WC wasn't. Often they just they just did drive up layups and noone was guarding the middle. Especially in the first half their points were coming off second and third chances.

QUOTE(MJ AND BEYOND @ Mar 3 2007 - 09:26 PM) 826398810I posted that WC would win, but did say the way for Antioch to beat WC was to get TJ into foul trouble early (remember WC vs. MJ at MJ? This was the case...9 points, etc..)
Good for Metro, and good luck to Antioch.
The story of 2007 is the amazing amount of great AAA teams this year, should be quite a tourney!
From what I can remember she had 2 fouls in the first half (she looked like she was sick though the entire game) and fouled halfway through the fourth. She played every second though up to that point..
They were getting DOMINATED underneath though.

QUOTE(MJ AND BEYOND @ Mar 3 2007 - 09:17 PM) 826398791C'mon, from your comments you must not have even been at the game. Give credit to Antioch rather than - imagine that the refs did it, or that WC must have had SUCH a bad night that even with the team BACK from last year, the MJ transfers, the "genious" (or was it sheer genious?) coaching staff, playing AT HOME.... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Props to Antioch!
All right buddy boys Mailman and Silk - wha' hoppened?
Well I can tell you now the officiating was horrendous. TJ also did foul out halfway through the fourth.
I'd say at least 90% of the game was either a tie to 4 point Antioch lead. Wilson Central just could not get a lead, whether it was a crazy call or an elementary miscue by WC.
But Antioch to me did look like they wanted it more and were coached alot better, and their #10 was tough. GL to them in state.
-
Yep its true 59-58.
I know the girls (especially seniors) feel bad but just remember you won one state championship and thats more of a blessing than most teams/players get to feel.
-
Well, we have ourself a new state champion in TN /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />
As for the three refs... they should be reassigned to the new McDonald's in Lebanon, man TSSAA refs are nasty /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
Props to Antioch. That #10 was making insane shots and it was one of those games where it was a 4 point lead for Antioch to tied for at least 90% of the game. Great coaching too.

Is tipoff at 600 or 630?
Last time I saw Antioch play WC was a few years ago in substate and WC dominated them.
Going WC by 15.
-
Awesome /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
So what time do they play the sub-state game? I'm guessiing around 600 on FRI/SAT night at WC?
-
man high scoring game.
-
MJ and WC still have 2 more games to go /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
Gotta go MJ and WC
-
Well he did have it right
-
Wilson Central only losses two seniors (1 starter) and Jenkins, Williams, Calhoun, and Hassell will all be back.
Wilson Central, Mt. Juliet, and Smyrna will be a tight race next year yet again.
-
Ha ha Columbia has beat both teams. LOL
so where were they.
COLUMBIA POWER\!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't recall Columbia playing WCHS.
Also the "Where were they" part you got that right lol.

I don't think I am taking any kid seriously when they go as far as saying WC threw the regional championship against Smyrna and their title is tainted haha.
I guess we can assume this person somehow knows about these "persuasions" too. Extremely doubtful.
