I was wandering the same thing as vols4me. I was told that they were about ready to announce a coaches name before coach Flatt got involved. What happened to the coach they were going to announce? Has he got tired of waiting and moved on? Did he get ticked because Flatt walked in and stole the show? I also agree with Blueboy about the wing-t, I don't think anybody really cares what kind of offense the new coach runs as long as he treats the players with respect and can win football games.

We played them the past two years he has been at Hickman and he is really turning their program around. The biggest change has been the number of kids he has gotten out to play. We hear that he has small staff and does most of the coaching. Found out he was the offensive coordinator at Huntingdon when they won the state. Many people there want him back.
Just to let you know I take real offense to your post.....yeah he may have a small staff and he does call offensive plays....and he is a good coach....but I would watch saying he does "most of the coaching himself"....he has some guys that give a lot to the program.....and it is going to be up to the school system to help him get more quality coaches....as for what he has they do a great job together...and He does not do it ALL HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!

It will depend what they offer him. He should go in with the same demands as Flatt. They were going to give Flatt all of this stuff, why not Swenson. If they do, he will be gone.
I heard recently that he has his eye on one job and it is back across the river, just barely....Black and Yellow are the colors.....Lions maybe their mascot.....you never know when that job will come open....he is laying in wait for that one....Great talent in that river town

Looks like they are close to a decision according to the Tennessean.
In honor of Veterans Day this weekend....Hickman County School Athletics will have its own version of D-Day Monday at the TSSAA Headquarters in Hermitage. We will find out our fate on this important day in Hickman County History!!!!!

Sad thing is you all probably think you would have a chance getting those guys!!!! Marshall County may have athletes.....but you would have to be crazy to go there now....good thing is they have good turnover in coaching jobs.

Agreed. When you hear "protest" you think heck no we wont go. This was more like this is how we feel now we'll go to class. The players esp the jr's are going to be with their 3rd coach in 4 years. I hate it for them.
More Drama in Lewisburg....I had a source tell me that you all were in talks with Bill Parcells to take over the ranks in Marshall County....and that Charlie Weis was on the short list.....You guys in Tiger land actually think you have a shot at getting one of these two coaches.

Hickman County has a slew of Sophomores that are going to be great...Scott Sowell WB last night against Shelbyville he had 18 carries for 238 yds and 3 Tds with Td runs of 5,37,49....Marcus Grimes CB and WB 1 intercetption and 2 carries 34 yds and 1 Td of 23 yds....Look for these guys in 2a football in the near future

If you were at the game then you saw how them Panthers roll ..and you know Hillsboro has nothing for them ...and get in a shootout if you want to, just dont run out of ammo because them Panthers are loaded ... while you guys where baby sitting Hickman Co. Maplewood put 40 points up on a real contender.
Burro's win in a close one....they are better up front on both sides of the ball.....I think that is the difference....this one might be low scoring....

Lewis Co. wins big in this one. If Lewis can beat a good Hickman Co. team by 7 i'd say this one will be over by halftime. BIG NEWS ..... this ain't richland and adamsville, or the sisters of the blind like you've been playing. I'm gonna listen to this one if I can pick it up in milan. I love to hear that goofy radio broadcaster from waverly. Sounds like Earnest T bass.
That is hilarious....Earnest T Bass....."I want to read my Sen-Tence" "If a duck stands still you can grab him by the bill, honk, honk" He does sound like him and he probably knows as much football as Bass did too. Papa knows Wavo will get beat bad you can tell he is just afraid to admit it.

I'm surprised too! Hickman County doesn't usually look past themselves. I told them earlier that they wouldn't make a dent in their own region play and they said I was talking smack. It was just the truth. They beat us on the first game ( our first game) their second game. I'm not sure they could beat us now. In fact I would almost bet on it. Go Tigers!

Looks like Papa has struck again and has bestowed on us some of his vast wisdom....the kind of wisdom one gains from years on the airwaves for the Waverly Central Tigers....by the way how is that going? Looks like your shot at a region Championship is going to be lost this week when you finally face an opponent worth mentioning (other than your Week 1 opponent which you lost in a 28-0 rout)...Traveling to Lewis Co wont be like the trip to the Dreaded Richland or Adamsville......You will loose in a BLOW OUT!!!!!
As for you predictions for HC in their region play, take some of this into consideration:
Maplewood- Record 6-0 Scoring average 38.3 points a game allowing less than 12 points per game....one of the most if not the most talented teams in the mid-state if not the state.....multiple round playoff contender....We lost 41-12
Lawerence Co- We beat 27-21....more talent on that team than we could ever hope for at HC....Region opponent Defeated...HC had never beaten them before since joining the region
Stratford- 5-1 only loss to 5a McGavock...who maybe one of the most talented teams in all of the mid-state....we lost 21-6....gave up 14 points on our own miscues....defense did not allow a 1st down in the 2nd half and we had over 200 yards rushing on a defense that had not allowed that all year....plus we held them under 28 for the 2nd time this year (only other McGavock)
Hillsboro- 6-0 we play them this week....extremely talented...and we shall see what will happen

They will probably put the 2 HC schools to region 5 and move 3-4 privates in region 5 over to the east. Only makes sense to even the east part of the state with the west.
There will definitely be some shake-up in 2a....we are just glad to be here.....

Last night the Hickman County Board of Education certified the numbers for both High schools in the county for next year. HCHS-660 EHHS-550 so that will put both schools in 2a football.
It is official the HCHS 4a Farewell tour has officailly begun!!!!!!!!!

First of all,it is not talking trash when you are stating an opinion or facts as this case may be. Second, broadcasting is not only calling a game. You analyze both teams that are competing. I was doing the job that I was asked to do. Sometimes the truth hurts. I am sorry if someone thought I was disrespecting them, but I wasn't. Only analyzing the facts of the game and two teams. Good luck. I'm not responding to this garbage no more.

Who wins this game? Fairview has won for the past several years, but with a rivalry like this one, the past doesn't matter. Hickman is coming off a loss to a very quick and talented Maplewood team. Fairview won last week against Ezell-Harding, who is not as good as they have been in past years. I have heard that some people are picking Hickman to win big in this one. Let me hear what you think.
My pick - I think it could be a good game, but Fairview comes out on top.

The one dimensional team will not have 85 players when they move down in class. They will not be able to swap an offensive and defensive line in and out. Waverly actually outplayed Hickman in the first one and half quarters until they tired. That's no excuse though. My comments were made because some goof ball was harrassing me for commenting that they would have trouble in their classification. I welcome HC in our region next year, but don't think for any minute that it will be a cake walk. The Tigers will be better next year. They are playing a lot of freshmen and sophomores. The freshmen class went undefeated in the 8th grade playing teams like Hickman, Harpeth, Dickson, etc. And oh by the way, if you think it will be a cake walk in our region, HC did lose to Lewis County (our region) in the first game of the year and I know they couldn't beat Camden also in our region.
Papa, you need to realize that you were speaking pretty rough against HC and yes it did ruffle some feathers. It has been a long time since Waverly has beaten a HC High School team....Might I also remind you that HC starters on D are all Jrs and Sophs except one...and the O isnt far behind. It would probably be better if you would worry about Broadcasting Tiger games and not concern yourself with "I told you so's" in HC....Realize the trash you are talking now and over the air waves on Friday night will come back to haunt you....Let the "young men" play and realize that it is a game....Oh yeah way to "take care" of Richland 10-0....EASE UP!!!!!!!!!!!! 2A football will be a heck of a lot easier than 4A....would like to Waverly compete in that region.

We have been working on that tackling thing this year....I am just glad to see that they are going to let us play the game Friday night...With all this talk you would think they would cancel the game since HC doesnt have a chance...but last time I checked we are still playing and you never know what will happen!!!!
