  1. lanxter is now the top wr on the stanford recruiting board. i think that is pretty impressive for a kid from east tennessee. vandy is also wanting him and will offer sometime soon. Texas has now also jumped in big on sykes.

I have a question, where do you get you information from iluvsports? Besides the Stanford thing that was in the paper.I was just wondering. Thanks.

  2. I would have to go with Summertown. If you have never been there let me try to describe it. They have real oak bleachers on both sides and at one end. They have what i call the "Eagles nest", which is a press box high in the corner on the home side. It is considered 2 stories. The bottom floor is an office and up a very small flight of stairs is the "nest". With glass windows that slide open for a better view. This is also where the spot light comes from during the home team's 5 starters announcement. (All the lights in the gym go off and the spot light is shown). THis is also the time that cell phones and glowsticks are flashed. It really is a brilliant light show.

On the ceiling of the gym they have several oak arches that run from the home side to the visiting side.

THey have one of the smallest gyms in the state, but in my opinion it has the old school charm. And it is my pick for BEST LOOKING GYM!

Alcoa also has a ''Nest" that is considered the 3rd floor of the building. Not to mention they have batting cages behind one of the upstairs bleachers. The other is dedicated to wrestling. And to top it off the hanging 4 sided scoreboard something similar to one you would find at a hocky rink. I don't see how a spotlight makes the facility better. I think that is more of an atmosphere thing.

  3. Ray Sykes is the best junior in the state. He will be on the Rivals 100 and will be ranked above Chris Donald. He is 6'4'' 245 and plays D-end and runs a 4.7 if not faster. All major D-1 schools are interested. LSU has already offered. I am pretty sure he led takles on team (possibly second behind Brandon Warren) untill he suffered a broken arm.

  4. That is a laugh!

He is a very good small, fast Running back but not any where tops in Tennessee much less the nation. If he was going to be that good he would start over Lindsey right?

I think not. It is Dustins senior season and Coach Reid has faith in him and knows he will get the job done. Plus Shiverdecker is more lieable to fumble than Dustin. I do not think hes the best RB in country for 07. Maybe top 50 or 100. But if he gets bigger he could be top 20 or 10.

  5. I think sometimes the artificial turf makes players look better than what they actually are. I'm not saying this kid isn't a good back, but you can't make those same cuts on grass.

He's done the same thing on grass all year. He is just so shifty people can't get him. And about the weight. I see coach Reid putting 10-15 pounds on him over the off-season. If he does his workouts and gives his it all I think we will see him on tv a lot more. But if he doesnt put on weight then i think he could still go to some small D1 school or a D2 school.

  6. I know that Alcoa will win by a lot. CAK won't stop Alcoa. Ask G-P. G-P prepared for the run so Alcoa passed and scored easily with one on ones. And for those of you who are angry with the 91-7 victory, Alcoa scored 35 on defense. They also played their JV the entire 2nd half.
