1. Personally because of my beliefs, I would kneel to pray for the injured player.  That is the best thing someone can do.  But at the same time, it should be optional for each person whether they pray, but you should at least kneel to show respect for the player and the team.  Praying is up to the individual, but kneeling should be urged at least.

Our Cheerleaders kneel when a player is down, it's a respect thing

  2. Luckily, I saved a few priceless quotes from this forum from Franklin fans and well-wishers. The names have not been included to save further embarrassment:

Losing Championships is understood at Riverdale .... Not Franklin!

I saw Riverdale play tonight and I have no doubt franklin can run or pass against Riverdale...Franklin will also be able to cause turnovers on defense.

We don't care whether we are good or not ! We know we are going to win !

I have heard Riverdale called a machine multiple times this year. Everyone knows a machine doesn't have a heart.

trust me when i say riverdale will be lucky to score 17 on franklin

be prepred to being wrong my friend. riverdale wont put 17 in a quarter on donnie webb's defense. riverdale's defense has gotten all the praise thoroughout the year for their great defense but on saturday it will be donnie webb's defense that will be praised as the great defense

Ask any Riverdale fan after they've lost who the best team was they saw. It will be the best team in the state Tennessee- the Franklin Rebels.

Riverdale obviously can be held in check.

Franklin has a better def than Oak Ridge

Better athletes and better records mean nothing.

Riverdale is a little better offensivly. Yes, I said a little.

    **************************************************

After all that smack, I'd have to say that last week WAS the real championship game.

And finally FHSrebel27, you may want to retire that signature about the Warriors coming out to play. Be careful what you wish for.

    825468174

Thanks! for saving the smack! It sure puts a reality check on things! Like I said in a post last night, it was like watching a pee wee team against a College team!

  3. Look at the playoff teams from Region 6-5A last year. Franklin made it to the semis. Brentwood had two losses last year- to Franklin. Dickson County had a great team that made an early exit (beat Franklin and Riverdale in the reg. season), and Centennial was a point away from being in the quarters. I'd say that's a pretty darn good region. Won't be able to convince me anyone was better.

    825464241

Team and region strength change from year to year in High School, as do the players! It's not the NFL guys!

  4. Yes, we're looser. No wait, I think the word your looking for is what Germantown was this past Friday... loser.

    825460009

Yup your right, and Franklin will be sharing that "title" about 9PM Saturday night, but wait, Germantown does have something Franklin will never have! A State Championship title... plus Jeff Cottam, Mr Football!

  5. Wow. We're drawing a big 4% so far in the Big Ones. I LOVE being the underdog. Except in this case we're something more extreme than that. I'm not sure what a more extreme word is for under, but whatever it is, we're it!

    825459356

Is the word your looking for "Looser"?

  6. Germantown Folks -

I have the pleasure of being on the opposing side of the field on fridays, due to doing the stats for Franklin.  I enjoy the hospitality of the opposition, as they see me coming up the stands and into the booth with my Power F hat on.

Germantown has plenty to be proud of, passionate fans, hard playing kids, and everyone in the booth was more than gracious.

I hope the individual that fell through the bleachers is OK.  We were told in the booth that the bleachers broke through and someone fell and hit their head.  Any News?

Congrats on a great run as defending champs, good luck next year.

    825456761

It was a relative of running back Rashad Taylor, she broke her arm and dislocated a shoulder, it was covered in the Commercial Appeal the next day.

  7. you said that franklin doesnt miss tackles VERY OFTEN....against Riverdale you can't miss any tackles or they are goin for 6....Riverdale has been through 2 years of losing....last year they werent even picked to go but this year was their year and so far they have lived up to it....they just have to put the finishing touches on it and i think they will....sry Franklin but Riverdale is just a better team

    Riverdale 42

    Franklin 10

    825458009

Agreed! Franklin might as well stay home! Big Big win for Riverdale coming up Saturday.

  8. I CAN'T STAND FRANKLIN OR FRANKLIN FANS.

THE FACT THAT FRANKLIN PAID OFF THE REFEREES AT THE BRENTWOOD-FRANKLIN QUARTERFINAL SHOULD BE A MAJOR BLEMISH ON THEIR RECORD.

THEY'RE FAILURES AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE RIVERDALE SEND SOME OF THEM HOME ON A STRETCHER.  thumb

    825456386

What's the deal on "paying off the referees?"

  9. I don't care if they've been there 12 of the last 12 years. The last time they played someone who had never been there was two years ago against a fellow Williamson County school and we know the result from that game.

Look what Franklin did last night. They just shut down a good Germantown team. Their defense is good enough to hold Riverdale in check. As previously mentioned, we have a defensive coordinator that will have a great game to take to MTSU next Saturday. Our offense had a coming out party last night, too. I have a feeling we'll have something up our sleve to keep that party going next week. But Riverdale obviously has a great D so I think we're in for another defensive sloberknocker like we've seen the past couple years in the 5A game.

I can't wait for a week from today. That home side of Floyd Stadium is going to be rocking and full of a bunch of Maroon and White Franklinites cheering on their Rebels to victory! We're gonna show the state just what Franktown is all about. Franktown is indeed an attitude...

I'm, as you know, a die hard Germantown fan, but comparing the G'town team to Riverdale and suggesting you can do the same to Riverdale is insanity!

Next week is Riverdale's turn, it will be a reversal of this weeks fortunes, with Riverdale coming out on top ... big time!

  10. AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! I wish I could have been there tonight... sounds like a total complete effort from the Rebs. What a great time... I'm just beyond words... don't know what to say. I'm just so excited... can't wait to see the Rebs next week. Ahhh... REBELS! REBELS! REBELS!

    825454109

Hopefully Riverdale will win which will perhaps quiet you!

  11. AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! I wish I could have been there tonight... sounds like a total complete effort from the Rebs. What a great time... I'm just beyond words... don't know what to say. I'm just so excited... can't wait to see the Rebs next week. Ahhh... REBELS! REBELS! REBELS!

    825454109

I met many Franklin Folks at the Game tonight, and I am happy to report they all are nice flolks, not blowhards like you!

sorry to say that Riverdale is going to wipe your #### next week!

  12. Let's all be honest here and realize together that this will be a beating on Friday night. Franklin will pound Germantown much worse than they pounded Brentwood. We slacked off too much against Brentwood in the 2nd half and if they had any offense whatsoever it could've costed us the game. In that sense we were lucky, but as much as Brentwood stinks, it shouldn't have been like that. We need to play harder in the second half than we did against Brentwood and this won't be close. Rebels 37-14.

    825451419

A BEATING!!!!!!!! Give me a break, we'll see in a few hours what you have to say!

    825450426

Just one problem with your "prediction" ...

    Remember last year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Devils, First Franklin, then Riverdale, just like last year!

  14. I'd like to give a hearty congradulations to the Div. II schools from Memphis for their victorious efforts Tuesday for winning the state championships. Kudos and well done to Div. II, A champion ... Bishop Byrne ... for winning the Gold Ball and bringing it home! Kudos and well done to Div. II, AA champion ... Briarcrest Christian ... for winning the Gold Ball and bringing it west to reside for the 2004-2005 year. Kudos and well done to Div. II, AAA champion ... Memphis University School ... for winning the Gold Ball and bringing it to Memphis!

Good job to each of you! All three! What an accomplishment for the City of Memphis!

    825450356

I agree, and the West is on a roll! Matter of fact Germantown High School Cheerleaders traveled to the "BORO" last weekend and came home with the State Championship!

  15. Hope ya get to make it down there, man. They need all the support they can get... including us great alumni from the c/o 2003! Wish I could be there with y'all.

    GO REBELS!

    825449443

    T

The Red Devils will Spank the Rebels!

  16. Great game last Friday night against brentwood. Them guys pounded the ball and played great defense. Congrats to the rebels and love to see them on the 4th. Gonna guess 21-3 franklin.

    825448888

Here's the big question, how do the Rebels play in the Mud? G'town has won it's last 3 on sloppy fields, and I just looked at the field at G'town and it's already a soggy mess and with more rain in the forecast it's going to get worse!

  17. It definitely will come down to OR or R'Dale but don't count ou the west they won it last year, and a lot of people thought R'Dale would win it again.

    825448156

Statistically, last year, the people who thought R'Dale would win were in all reality R'Dale fans! R'Dale has a big fan base that builds up a lot of hype, and they have an attitude that they are the "best" ... but like you say, don't count out the West. There is something to be said for the underdog when it comes to game night! Especially if they want it bad enough.

  18. Home field advantage helped out the Red Devils a whole lot in 2002 when Brentwood came down there, didn't it?

And I assure you, there will be plenty of Franklin people making the trek to Germantown, so the Franklin guys will have plenty of people in the crowd cheering them on loud and strong. Plus, I just don't really believe that home-field advantage exists at the high school level except for a FEW rare places like Riverdale and Maryville, IMO.

    825446881

Great! We look foward to seeing you'all and may the best team win!

  19. I still don't get how Franklin isn't the favorite here. They've lost one game by a blocked extra point to a team they beat Friday night. It really shouldn't bother me, I'm aware of this. It's just a plea for a little bit of respect. Oh well, the Rebs have my respect and support!

Look for Franklin to hopefully get an early lead and NOT sit on it this year. That's my key to this game. Franklin got too complacent last year with a 10-0 lead. The great coaching staff of the Rebels won't let that happen this year. I think that ultimately this game will be won in the first five minutes or so of the second half.

    GO REBELS!

    825446660

With all due respect, I've been to home Franklin Games, have you ever been to a home G'town game? If crowd support has anything to do with it, which I know it does, and home field advantage, I'd have to honestly, and unbiasiadly say, Germantown is going to dominate the entire game.

Every one on the planet had the Houston Game 50/50 and G'town dominated. Every one said G'town's Jeff Cottam (6'8") would tire,,and he got better as the game progressed. Everyone said G'town's sophmore quarterback couldn't do it, and he continues to prove everyone wrong. These boys get better with more pressure.

But if things don't go G'towns way, and we all know it's anybody's game on any given Friday night, do what we would have done on 12/4 and put the Riverdale stands in the quiet mode and kick some ######!
