East's defensive rotations are very, very slow! Science Hill is getting too many easy buckets...outstanding passing and patience on their part.

I am very happy for Central and Coach Applewhite, especially because of all their years of struggling to get of Memphis. Also, Jarnell Stokes' departure really has to make this even more special.

Excellent but enormously disappointing season for BTW. =========================================================== About all I can say for BTW is that it just was not meant to be: anytime your opponent hits a desperation, game tying 3-pointer @ the buzzer from 60+ feet....well, missed FTs aside, a State Championship berth just simply wasn't meant to be for BTW. This has to be excruciatingly painful for the BTW players!

Announcer just said that BTW is 15 of 30 from the Free Throw line, a DISMAL 50%! BTW is in all-out PANIC mode, chunking up (unnecessary, IMO) wild 3-pointers, with 30+ seconds to go...down 5 points.

If BTW goes on to lose this game, they have no one to blame but themselves (no disrespect to LC). You gotta make your FT's.

This game has the feel of the University of Memphis' NCAA Title game Overtime loss to Kansas, a few years back (the UofM basically had the game won in regulation but, thanks to missed FT's by UofM, permitted a game tying 3-pointer @ the buzzer...) I honestly don't think that BTW is going to be able to pull themselves back together, mentally, for this overtime. I really don't....I hope I'm wrong. Wow!!

STUPID, stupid, stupid foul by BTW, while up 4 points!!!!!! The LC player was shooting a 2-pointer. Now LC goes to the line for 2 FT's 1st one good. BTW up 3.

Newby is proving to be unstoppable in the lane. That's the KEY to victory for BTW, clearly. I wonder if BTW's coach will take advantage of Newby's advantage.

BTW 61 - 60. Newby is doing an outstanding job breaking down LC's interior defense and creating... BTW's coach need to be smart and DEMAND that Newby handles the ball on the offensive end, EVERY TIME!

I missed the entire 1st half.... must have been dull and ugly.

BTW's run needs to start on the DEFENSIVE end. That hasn't happened so far.

I agree, 100%! BTW is doing entirely too much standing around on defense and not blocking out. Unless BTW picks up its defensive intensity, and soon, they're going to lose this game!

Final: Southwind 74 --- Ridgeway 72.. Overtime. This game was originally scheduled for tomorrow night but was moved to tonight, Thursday. My guess is that since both of these teams are playing Saturday in the Penny Hardaway Classic...that's probably why they played this game one day earlier. ------------------------------------------------- Great game. Solid execution on both ends of the court by both teams. Ridgeway led by as much as 13 to 16 points in the 1st half, but Southwind chipped away at the lead and steadily clawed its way back into the game. They finally took a brief lead with about 2 or 3 minutes to go in regulation. It was back-n-forth from that point onward and thru overtime.... Southwind won it on a put-back @ the buzzer. Bottom line: Two solid, balanced and very evenly matched teams! Flip a coin. If these teams played 10 times, they'd likely split @ 5 wins each.

I am not surprised at the result. I am surprised by the low score for these two high-octane, up-tempo teams!! It sounds as if one of these teams played totally out of character and slowed the game waaaaay down!! I figured that this would be a fast-paced game, with the scores in the 80's. ------------------------------- I look forward to reading a post-game summary.

Final: Henry County 24 -- Ridgeway 14 -------------------------------------------- Congratulations to Henry County on the hard-fought victory. Good luck the rest of the playoffs. Great season, Ridgeway.

Henry County 38 -- Ridgeway 35 ----------------------------------- Augielio, I have no doubt that Henry County has a very good football team; I just do not think that Henry County is 3 touchdowns better than Ridgeway! As you can see, I'm picking HC to defeat our (Memphis) Roadrunners...albeit narrowly -- yet, by a considerably smaller margin... Of course, I hope that I'm wrong and that Ridgeway can pull off the so-called "upset." Furthermore, I absolutely will not be surprised or shocked to see Ridgeway defeat Henry County! No offence or disrespect to any HC Patriot faithfuls, but here's what my gut is telling me: Henry County is not as ELITE a team as many of you would like to believe; Ridgeway is not as bad a team as you would like to believe. The issue of each of these team's schedule strength has been kicked around, on this thread. Some say Ridgeway's stronger; other's say Henry County, and that District 10 is much stronger than which many give it credit......Someone even said that S.O.S is grossly overrated! From my perspective (and, apparently, Kwc's viewpoint as well)-- here's the one simple, but CRITICAL, dynamic that points to this game being substantially closer than many HC fans would like to believe: Henry County simply has not lined up against a team of Ridgeway's overall caliber; Ridgeway, on the other hand, has faced several teams of Henry County's caliber. Henry County Partiot fans -- BEWARE: Henry County's perfect season and dreams of a Gold Ball will be in serious, serious jeopardy versus Ridgeway! Prepare yourselves, mentally and emotionally -- this game is going to be a nail-biter and has the very real potential of messing with your head, for days or weeks to come! -------------------------------------------- P.S....
