  1. I am not going to sit on here and keep talking why Farragut can't go past the third round. I will tell you this Farragut had one of there starters quit with two or three games left because he did not like football anymore was the answer. Now I could tell you more on this but I am not going to because someone on here early got mad at me for picking on players. This years team had a really good year with what they have gone through and I am proud for that they could have (coaches) just said the heck with it and started to get ready for next year. Lossing to DB, Catholic, Riverdale, and then going out and beating OR, West, Bearden and beating Sevier County in the first round of the playoffs which no one thought that would happen. What is sad is they beat Bearden and Bearden is a #4 in the playoff and Farragut is a #6 which doesn't make since because Farragut was second in this region but TSSAA change the playoff bracket from what teams you played like Riverdale and DB to wins and losses. Farragut could have played much easier teams but choose to play the DB's and Riverdale's thinking it would help them out in this new playoff format. Farragut was a young team this year with all five LB's were senior and then #2 at CB. You will have Rule the QB, Jacob Johnson, and #9 coming back the whole o-line but #56 #1 at running back which is a soph the kicker whick is a soph and kicked a 52 yard fieldgoal in the playoffs and had almost all his kickoffs going in the endzone. The freshman class has some really good players 3 or 4 coming up that will help out alot this coming up year to me 2 of them could of played on friday night. These guys got some playing time the last few games and some in the playoff.

  2. You sir are wrong! It is all about the coaching. Who do you think is solely responsible for motivating 14-18 year old young men? It's not self motivation I assure you.

Congrats to MHS for taking care of business.

LOL. What is it then coach Madden or are you The Bear wait Phil Fulmer thats it. What ever you say.

  3. I didn't say it didn't make a difference, My point is, this isn't the first time we done worse offensively/defensively in the 2nd game. I think it goes back to stuff I hear from a lot of Farragut fans. The coaches don't make changes a lot of times. The gameplan appears to remain the same the 2nd time around, and the opponent, makes changes to stop what worked before, so we just keep running it, while it doesn't work. I mean, sure we are playing generally good/"great" teams in the playoffs in these losses, but I don't get why there is such a significant difference between the regular season game, and the playoff loss. Sure this year there is a reason. What's the one for the Bearden loss? Or last year vs. Maryville? Or the Oak Ridge one? I'm not saying Farragut has bad coaches because they don't. Courtney has done an awesome job, as have the others. Shoup was a great coach as well. The problem is, they can't get them over hump. It's great making the playoffs every year sure. And the quarterfinals the past several seasons. But when you fail to get past that point, when every time you've lost in the qtrs it's to a team you already played, there has to be something said about it. It's like a team from the MEAC in basketball makes it to the conference championship game every year and loses.... At what point do you demand more? 2nd place is awesome, but you need to be able to get to #1, not just be happy with #2. For example, here in Boise, all we hear is how we should be lucky that we are even ranked where we are. The problem is, we want more, and can actually get there. Sure a BCS game is awesome the first couple times, but now we want more. We think we "deserve" or have "earned" more. We aren't just going to be happy being left behind, and 3rd/4th or just a top 10 ranking every year. Especially when we think we have the team to win a championship. Much like Farragut has had a capable team the last several years to win a championship.

The problem is not the coaches but the players they were ready for the season to be over and move on. Was at this game friday and you could tell by the way they were acting on the field while warmimg up. Maryville players want to win that is the difference you can't coach that.

  4. I was wishing Farragut would get to replay DB and do the samething that Bearden did WIN. I had that feeling this was going to happen every year most of the time this region always beats you guys in the first round #1 again in the state and a 4th site beat you guys. I went and saw the West TN High game well it wasn't a game I was surprised at this at what West did to them. This game was played on your guys home turf and to blame the referee. Way to go Bearden.

  5. West will have to win against the following teams:

    Quad 1

    TH (West should roll)

    Boone/South (Pretty even matchup)

Anderson Cty/Powell (Huge Roadblock with or without RB)

    Semis

Columbia or Tullahoma or Lawrence Cty (Could Win this game)

    Finals

Ridgeway or Henry Cty or Jackson NS or Springfield (West has serious trouble here. As does any other East TN team.)

Quad 1 could get to the semis or even the finals, but "on paper" Quad 3 or more likely Quad 4 wins the fancy ball this year.

    Winner of the Ball from:

    Quad 1 15%

    Quad 2 15%

    Quad 3 30%

    Quad 4 40%

Will have to say West plays in a tuff region with Maryville, Bearden, Farragut, Catholic and have done a pretty good job in this region playing with alot of 6A schools. I think that will help then out alot in the playoffs.

  6. Ummm....Hardin County and Hardin Valley are not the same school. According to my research, Hardin County High School is 2.5 hours east of Memphis near the Miss and Ala borders, built in 1959 in Savannah, TN. Hardin Valley Academy is in western part of Knoxville, but is a newer school, built in 2008. They are only about 300 miles apart, so I can see the confusion........

    My bad.

  7. Hardin Valley will be the team in this area if it is not this year in football. When they did the rezone for this school Farragut took a big blow from alot of good players from this area that is going to this school now. Farragut baseball probably want change because people will move into the Farrgut area to play here nothing new there they are already doing it but football will and you can already see it with the freshman football team I heard they only had 25 kids come out this year and with the no kids left behind help build them up alot. Farragut now really only gets kids from the Farragut area to play sports and football is not one of them when you have Maryville and Aloca not to far away with what 12 golden balls plus Farragut really doesn't help these kids play college football either (Bearden, West, Catholic do a better job at this) not like Farragut baseball or soccer were they play for the state almost very year. Only time will tell and it might be this year.

  8. Interesting idea. I would certainly get the ball to Rule and Johnson in the run game, but I like the idea of a back with some ability to block in the backfield as well. This is especially important to lead on the midline option which has been so effective, and of course to pass protect.

I like the King idea, but what do you think about risking both your punter and kicker? He looks awfully good at both for a Soph. and he will most assuredly get better. Is there anyone waiting in the wings to handle those duties in the event of an injury? I definitely agree with you that any such change would have to occur next year.

King throws a nice ball from what I have seen. As a matter of fact, he actually ran the zone/read keeper effectively on a couple of occasions in scrimmages. He isn't Rule, but he appeared quite serviceable as a runner.

At the same time, Rule has gotten better each week. If he continues to improve, behind a line that is young and bound to get stronger, I don't see the coaches changing. In addition, I would prefer to stay with a run first mentality until I had more big play threats at WR. Play-action from an effective run game sure helps to freeze/hold those LB's and DB's when it's time to throw.

At any rate, I think you covered the most important point. You have to get the best players on the field at the right positions.

Would agree with this not a bad idea.

  9. Remember though Dobyns Bennett beat Farragut alot worse all over the field then Riverdale did this year. I don't know why Bearden is even in this thread, DB lost to Bearden once EVER in the series by 1 point and that was the year Bearden went to the semis. So it is DB, Maryville from the east with Maryville a deserving top spot.

I don't know why DB is on here then they always get beat by the 4th place team in the first round of the playoff when they are the #1 seed in that region.

  10. Obviously, 1 of the 3-3 teams would be left out, but I will list everyone with the last qualifying record until we get a few weeks closer to the playoffs.

Automatic Qualifiers (1st or 2nd in their District) Listed Alphabetically

    Lebanon (3-3)

    Heritage (3-3)

    Let's hear your thoughts.

Maryville will beat Bearden this Thursday night and Maryville will win this region and after watching Farragut and Riverdale game someone futher West is going to have to beat Maryville no one from Middle or East (beside Aloca and Aloca could win the 6A this year with what they got over there) can beat Maryville to well coached of a team.

  11. Maybe this thread should have been talking about Farragut's defense....or lack there of.

Giving up 500+ rushing yards, in one game? Mr. Young is salivating .........

Farrguts defense can thank the referee's Riverdale 13 for 106 Farragut 5 for 30 penalties and yards. There were a few questionable calls there and the fumble before #4 got into the endzone on one of his TD's.

O sports19 some of the Riverdale fans wanted to know if you got your TUMS yet after eating the food at the game after Riverdale won.

  12. I want to see Farragut succeed. I try to initiate constructive dialogue with other posters, while also suggesting alternatives I believe will help Farragut succeed.

You allvolfan, on the other hand, whine, bellyache, and seldom post anything but insignificant anti-Farragut negativity. One poster, who frequently offers insightful and substantial commentary, even questioned you multiple times on another thread as to which team held your allegiance.

As much as it pains me to write, I don’t believe Farragut will be successful against the upper tier teams with this current offensive philosophy. That is the point of my original post in the thread! Apparently, that concept is just way over your head. You evidently can’t even handle basic arithmetic. (11 defenders - 2 corners on “spread†wideouts - 2 intermediate/deep safeties = 7 in the box)

So, whine on little man. I am done with you.

You Farragut people kill me with all your break downs of the games and how the coaches should use players and next you probably and after the next few games want be on here anymore. Sounds like you are the whiner I just tell it like it is and don't hind thing. O which team I already gave that out if you would put down your cranyons and read you would see FARRAGUT if I put it in big letters does that help you read better.

  13. This one is pretty big for Riverdale's playoff hopes as well. There aren't any guranteed wins in our district so every game is a big game. Let's get this one and start worrying about Smyrna on Sunday.

Is there good food at the stadium or should we eat before we get there?

Hotdogs, pizza, popcorn is to salty. Probably eat before you get there. If you get off at the Campbell Station exit there is a Cracker Barrel right there and if you go to the first red light and turn left there which is Turkey Creek Shopping Area there is alot of good restaurants out that away all this in within 4 miles with in the school. You guys have a safe trip here and see you at the game can't wait good luck to you guys.

  14. Question for the Farragut fans out there:

Farragut is at 2-2 and still has some pretty big land mines on their schedule (Bearden and Maryville). I was wondering if you guys view this game as a must win in order to keep the playoff hopes alive?

They better the win against West was big for them losing to Catholic which is a region game and having to beat Maryville and Bearden. If they lose to both of these teams and Riverdale with the new playoff setup you never know. Last year they took 4 teams from this region but you never know this is one reason why they are playing Riverdale to help them in the new playoff setup from what I understand. Farragut wins out in the region they could be 4th if everyone else wins out to Catholic, Maryville, and Bearden.

  15. A field you undoubtedly never stepped foot on, but then maybe you did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Man you are the next John Madden. Watch this game from field level but keep putting you great paperwork together and we will see this Friday with Riverdale and then after that Maryville with Bearden. O and yes you can put 6 or 8 in the box with 2 deep safety in there if you would put down your cranyons long enough and look at it you will see. Why would a kid that is 5'6 have 12 catches in the OR game. Farragut is not ever good at throwing the ball and when you QB is the leading rusher on the team. Came on you should know this with your great break downs of this offense.

  16. That was the worst OR team they have ever had (sorry to OR fans) they had no not one play maker on the team and they really should have won and yes they put 8 in the box. Last year OWL's game was with out there big man #36 so Farragut should have won with what they had. You will see this Friday night with Riverdale then Maryville wait and see. Nice to see you break everything down all nice on paper it looks good for that on paper the field it is a little different former44.

  17. does farragut have any other QB's that can really throw the ball around, like AC or CAK..

No not like those guys can. Farragut pretty much accounts on there QB it seems to me. If you can keep them from getting outside you got them because he is not the best passer at all. Farraguts defense is o.k. can pass on them and not much of a pass rush either West helped them out alot last Thursday with all the fumbles at the wrong time and wrong side of the field to. Farragut will need to change there defense from the 3-5-3 this week against Riverdale, Maryville, and Bearden LB's not fast enough and the down three are not strong and quick enough to handle these teams.

  18. You have to throw the ball in this offense to help setup the run. What teams have been doing is putting 8 to 9 in the box to stop the run so you are going to have to throw the ball and Perez can help there with Urevick that is about all they got a receiver. Johnson and Perez is the best a running back but with the cast on Johnson hand don't help much there for catching the ball. Farragut is used to having a few good receiver and good tightend that can catch to open up the run.

  19. Well if Riverdale turns the ball over like West did last Thursday night Farragut will have a chance to win. We you have 6 fumbles and 1 int like West offense did it is pretty hard to win the game against anybody you play. There were a total of 11 fumbles in this game West 6 lost 4 with 1 int Farragut had 5 lost 3 and the big one was when West fumbled the punt deep in Farragut territory when West was only down by 7. West run the ball good just killed themself in this game.

  20. I just figured one of 3 things must have happened to you to make you such a "hater".

    1. You wanted to coach at Farragut and Courtney said "NO"!

    2. You went to Farragut and weren't good enough to play and rode the pine.

    3. You sent your kid to Farragut and he didn't play as much you thought he should or where you wanted him.

    One of the Three....

Can't be Bearden, you would have been watching the Devrin Young show again last week. They are the only school that hates Farragut as much as you do. :thumb:

I am glad you findly found my team and no didn't want coach, did play and a three year starter, and no my kid is not old enough yet. I just like making people like you mad and in about another year you will be gone off Farragut post when your kid is gone just like the rest that get on Farragut post and run there mouth like you.

  21. You're definitely right about the player need to execute... our kicking game has struggled in every game. As for coaching comment; I've done my fair share and WON a lot! You should keep up with what you post. You seem to beat down this staff every chance you get. Look at it this way.. we have one thing in common. I like the coaching staff... they just need to be more open and make the necessary changes and look at the players they have and where they best fit within the team. As for like to hear yourself talk comment... you should read your own posts. You've got to be the most "negative" guy I've ever seen. Good thing we take what you say with a grain of salt. Still waiting on who your team is..... Is it a "secret"?

LOL it is no secret I can't believe you don't know who my team is if I am so negative. Does that help you out or do you need more.
