If the TSSAA grew a set of balls and put a rule into play for every out of zone player you have to add 20 students per player you would see Alcoa in 5A in a New York Minute. For some reason you think I'm against Alcoa but I'm not. I would like to see them play the teams they should be playing.  There is no doubt Alcoa will possibly have one of the best two or three teams in the state over the next three years and I can promise you the TSSAA will eventually bring down rules on open zoning like I mentioned because of the giant problem it has created with a select few schools. If they finally chopped the head off the Private schools don't think open zoning schools will be any problem. Far as Maryville losing to Alcoa I had nothing to do with that loss. I'm just a fan that went to the game

but I did have something to do about it when I played which was a part of a 15 game streak over Alcoa

I'll give Shad credit. I didn't see any wins coming into this season. So they have overachieved this year in my eyes. I dont agree with you about talent, though. This team is just young. The knock against Shad is he has only managed to win two games in a season, even though the last two coaches were able to win 3 games per season against tougher competition.  And in 2016, Shad only won 2 games with a team that was pretty loaded at the skill positions. That was easily the most talented team at WB since '07. I'm not knocking Shad, just stating facts. I hope he can turn it around with the young kids that are coming up in the program. Things just haven't looked good to this point.

You have 56 kids on your roster with 19 seniors and 19 juniors that's 29% of each class or 68% of the team. By comparison Maryville (five miles down the road) has 85 kids on the roster with 35% of those being seniors  (5 kids more) and 26% of those being juniors  (14 kids more) or 67% of the team..

Interestingly enough WB has 56 kids on the roster and Maryville has 57 seniors and Juniors.

  3. I watched WB's first game on tape this year and healthy they had maybe 6-8 good football players, but yet Shad can't coach. Really.........?

You know ya'll are right Shad can't coach. He can't coach what he doesn't have!

Poachers gonna poach, then take shots at those they are poaching....really!

Don't get me wrong If I lived in WB's zone and could pay a stipend and mykidsdad kids have a chance at at gold ball....my only question is who do I make the check out to?

But don't come on her and act all indignant! You should be praising Shad and WB and thanking them for all their contributions to your teams success. 0-15 in the last 15 meeting and only competitive in 1 (2007). And it's not just Maryville, the program has been on the struggle bus for a long time... 4-12 in the playoffs since 1994. Went from 2007 til 2016 without making the playoffs and only made it then because everybody did. Haven't won a playoff game since 2007 and Shad's the problem......

If Shad were to leave WB you know what would change....nothing. The football program would still have the same challenges it does today and did 10 years ago. The problem is not who's walking up and down the sidelines on the field, the problem is who's walking up and down the halls of the school.:popcorneater:

    S.O.S.

I think (insert name) is gonna win because (insert inane reason)

(insert coaches name) would have this team ready if (insert ex assistants name) didn't leave to join (insert name of far away school).

Where is a great place to eat at this away game?

The (insert year/ usually a decade ago) (insert team) won The Battle Of (insert an obscure rivalry name) against (insert team). (Put wrong score in this space).

(make up situation how your team was ripped off by the officials DO NOT include the fact you lost by 41 points)

Explain why your team lost but NEVER put any of the weight on the Coaches shoulders I mean Heck you might be shunned by your peers even though they say the same stuff to YOU in whispered voices.

I laid out a format for all to use their football prowess and call your shots in advance. No takers. I think i'll do something interesting like Roy Dillard recommended and chase chickens or maybe Google restaurants in the towns we play away games in so I can be in the convo's in the future.

    Maybe the best post ever!

  6. People talk about how great it is to watch a football game at Maryville. I can tell you what's not great about playing at Maryville. You park on the side of a mountain, climb your way to the visitors locker room which is about the size of a gas station restroom and feels and smells somewhat similar (my guess in the chain gang has better accommodations). Then you make your way over to the visitors side of the field and hope and pray you don't get run over or fall off the face of the earth. As pretty as it it and it is pretty it is not a very hospitable environment. And I can't help thinking that is intentional!

Course it could be worse, you could be up the street and around the corner dressing in the opponents practice facility.:popcorneater:
