  1. They are two years removed from a semi-finals run and gave OR fits in the 2nd round last year. They also just got a coach that has appeared in the last 2 state championships and won 1 of those. If that's not quality I don't know what is.

And there is probably not a lot of kids on those teams still there, plus they like yall have a new coaching staff.

Besides yall will be better simply because yall are getting better coaching. It's not that Shad is some kind of coaching genius. I can recall probably four calls in my four years with him that I thought were genius. I call also say there were times when I thought we were very predictable and others when I thought we abandoned those things that were working, and god knows we had no idea where the middle of the field was in the passing game.

To me the Shad difference is two fold. (1)-preparedness: If you haven't been to practice you should go. The kids will be fully aware of where they are supposed to be. He is organized and has a air horn blowing to keep him on track if he gets distracted. The coach we had prior to Shad would lumber from station to station and you would also see the kids doing the same. That will not happen with Shad, everybody hustles all the time.

(2)-master motivator: He has a way of capturing the moment and the ability of communicating with kids and making them believe.

Yall will make the playoffs (so will everyone else) and yall will surprise some people, because yall will practice better and be more prepared than a lot of the coaching staffs yall will face. :popcorneater:

  2. “The future is exceptionally bright at William Blount,†Shadowens said at one point.

“We’ll be a team that gets better every single week,†he added later, “and as time goes on, I think we have a chance to be a really good football team.â€

“With the attitudes we have,†he continued, “there’s no reason we can’t be good right now.â€

G91 that's what you get with Shad. The man is a master motivator and you will seldom find someone more organized and runs a better practice schedule. I remember the first night he addressed the parents and kids at Blackman. He had me so jacked I was ready to suit up. He will do well and yall will do well by having him as part of your football program. His speeches are epic, he do have a way with words! Especially as it relates to kids and football. He came up with the "We Are Blackman" shout. My all time favorite was when he dressed down a kid at practice for tweeting out "follow me on twitter" and not "follow Blackman Football on twitter". Or when he threw the whole team off of the practice field cause "they weren't good enough to be on my field". That one happened more that once.

Yall are in for a real treat. Blackman was a school that had talent, but was weak on the sideline. Shads first year, District Championship (beat Riverdale for the first time in school history), second year Quarter Finals, fourth year Semi Finals and fifth year Quarter Finals. If what was holding WB back was on the side lines, that will no longer be the issue. :popcorneater:

  3. No I wasnt, but I'm sure everyone will be finding out about it soon. If the racism part is true, then Riverdale will be finding themselves a new coach.

You got that right, if what you're alleging is true. Based on what's be reported about this young man in the media, I would find him a very reliable source for information. :popcorneater:

  4.  Well as we all know, chemistry can be a huge benefit, but it doesn't completely overcome talent.  Not saying that we don't have the talent at the QB position, because there are some players with real potential in the ranks. The thing that Jennings had was both his strength and weakness if you can call it that. He was the kinda player who would put the team/game on his shoulders and and carry the load if needed. Sometimes it meant playing selfish ball  and making plays and sometimes there were other options. But that also comes with age  and expierience which he will get plenty of at UT. Who knows who will step up this next season, and who knows who will transfer in/out or have a huge off season. It will be different for sure, but Blackman will still make a good showing I am sure.

Great points Blaze45. I spent 6 years with Blackman High School Football and it always amazed me how each year after graduation you would say how we gonna replace that guy. Yet every year kids matured and stepped up, filled those rolls and embraced the challenge. I'm sure the same will happen next year and it sounds like yours will be a big part of that stepping up. :popcorneater:

  5. I don't condone calling people names, but I think this is pretty accurate.....You ,sir, are a MORON!!!!! Whether you are who you have been accused of being or not....you have proved you are more than clueless!!!!! Please expand on these "bridges" you speak of. Keep throwing crap up against the wall....something might end up sticking eventually, but I doubt it.

Hey Blaze, I too noticed the post. The only thing I can figure is he may have been referencing some displaced coaches as a result of the high school taking over the middle school program, but that was also 5 years ago. I'm sure those involved would have moved on by now. :popcorneater:

  6. They are actually working out in the freshman weight room separate from the high school players , and the freshman are working with the JV and Varsity. They really don't do anything together until summer practices.

I had heard the middle school weight room had been turned into a music room or band storage. Not sure if they got the weight room back with the new building or not. :popcorneater:

  7. The hire is critical at this juncture. The talent lost to graduation in the last two years (defense in 2014 and offense in 2015) is going to require someone that has the ability to get the most out of what he has coming back.

If it is David, who he can get to join him :motorbike: is going to be crucial! :popcorneater:

  8. I really hate this has come to this it was so unnecessary. Wayne and Mike we are grown men and this name calling needs to stop. You do not like me and I do not like you but the word calling and rants need to stop. You and Wayne do not know Philip or the whole story just like us. I believe and believe in Philip and made points about Justus but you ignore them and I ignore yours but I stard facts and your argument is based on accusations and what ifs and no evidence. I can promise you Philip and Blackman will move on but trying to attack a mans character is a total out of line. You will have to live with your comments when this is over and I as well. This needs to stop in public forum. If you two want to sit down with me and compare notes I welcome it, but this forum between us needs to end.

Enter Goon Squad.........Treyrae, I have never had a problem with you until you started making things personal. Bringing up a mans child is way out of bounds on this forum.

Please show me a post where I have attacked my coach. For the record I LOVE my coach and my kids school, and will be forever grateful that my kids were able to play for the man. What I have attempted to do on this forum is state the facts as they have been reported by the DNJ in order to keep things from getting personal.

Here is what I have said from the beginning and you tell me what I have misstated?

    1. there was an altercation

    2. there was an audit

    3. there was a recommendation

    4. there was a resignation

    5. there is an investigation

Please help me understand which of those facts reported by the DNJ are incorrect? You act as if I have an ax to grind. I can assure this thing is a crushing blow to me personally. I have not nor will I try to make this personal (ok maybe the Goon Squad may have been personal). The damage is done and reaches further that any of us can comprehend. I am having to answer to my family, friends to co-workers and colleagues about what is happening at my kids school. What I want most is for everyone involved to move on.

You my friend need to be the one acting like a grown-up and not a Goon Squad!

Once again for the record I LOVE MY COACH! :popcorneater:

  9. I understand Blackman supporters standing behind their former coach. However, at some point, you have to start thinking that you do not know the entire story. The principal and director of schools are educated people and have made their decisions based on the facts so far. This is not a witch hunt, there are legitimate findings that have brought them to this point. They are not required to publicly disclose all of the information that led them to the decisions they have made. It is probably in the best interest of Mr. Shadowens that the entire story is not detailed in a somewhat unreliable news source such as the DNJ. It is their job to do what is best for the school and your children. It is that simple. Based on the facts so far, it is best for everyone involved for him to look to another county for employment.

As far as the anonymous posters who use this forum as a way to publicly slander a coach, administrator, parent volunteer or even worse a player, you are nothing but a coward. The purpose of these message boards are to discuss sports and voice opinions, not slander someone's character.

You better be choosing your words carefully here see. Stating facts and or opinions will get you a call from the Knuckles and the Goon Squad! :popcorneater:
