  1. I cant really speak to the strength of the schedule but keep in mind, Davidson only has 228 students in the high school according to fall 2010 enrollment numbers. That is less the half of Webb and also less then region counterparts; FRA, DCA and Ezell Harding.

yep and we still beat Webb with the same numbers last year...and Webb was ranked in the top 10 ..just pointing out facts

  2. Dear 69,

Would you like to make a wager? My house is about 3500SF, i will wager that against your "guarantee" and your house.

NICE POST...DA WILL GO 2 KNOXVILLE AND HANDLE THEM...WEBB BARELY GOT BY FRA TODAY AN GAVE UP ALMOST 300 RUSHINGS..JUST WAIT TILL THE BEARS COME TO TOWN

MAYBE THE EXCUSE WILL BE THE FIELD WAS TOO DRY

  3. The bears won't be a running team, if they are they will lose. The Cascade game was a good game, but Cascade did what they had to do to win and Davidson did what they had to to lose, i.e. turn the ball over and drop passes. This years Davidson team will win or lose depending on whether or not the receiving corp decides to show up on Friday nights. They pass 20 times a night and catch it, they're lethal. They don't catch it then it doesn't matter.

This is a great analysis.. Davidson should be a spread team until the line develops. This would open up running lanes for J.Williams and allow the QB to exploit mismatches wit his combo of big and quick young Wrs. Also saw that they should go to a more attacking style of defense because the DL is also inexperienced and on the smaller side. With DA's team numbers, big pounding, running teams will wear them down. They have athletic lbs and should look to pressure and blitz a little more. just my opinion

  5. Alright bigreese. Its amazing how the field was wet, yet your practice field and the grass around the stadium was completely dry? Just wondering. I guess there must have been a rain cloud that only opened up above the field... Nice one DA!

I guess your team speed was effected.. :thumb:

If not for a fumble in your territory, and you all out of timeouts and already behind...You all would be home just like we are. Just had to say that. Hope we could play next year on a dry field so your "blazing fast WRs" can do us in and have more than 100 yards passing offense

Good Luck in the championship game and don't get beat by 21... ;)

    close

  6. I guess the thing to do would be to water the field down, risking injury to the kids, so it could be completely torn up so it would cost thousands to fix the field the following year :roflolk: ....All this talk about USJ and their 99 yds of passing offense is silly. If we take a knee on their 15, when we were up by 4 points already with 2:00 left in the game...With USJ being completely out of timeouts..USJ would be at home right now. We fumbled...and we lost. But to say we cheated by watering the field when the refs didnt start the clock for 3 plays, is so ridiculous. Maybe we did the same thing for 3 out of the last 4 years when we won state championships :roflolk:

Maybe we did the same thing to Harding Academy and Marlon Brown in Murfreesboro last year

  8. DA's defense really stepped up. The QB for USJ made some plays with his feet but the passing game for USJ was non-existant for the majority of the game. USJ had a huge run in the first half for a score but DA dropped 7-8 people all game long and got good pressure from their line. I believe Martindale had 3 catches beofre the last drive.

DA was on around the 20 yard line up 13-9 with about 2 min left in the game and they were in run out the clock mode...USJ was out of timeouts.Crowd was celebrating...Then a reverse was called an there was a fumble. DA went into a loose prevent defense and they through short passes all the way dwn the field. The clock/ref didnt start the clock on 2-3 plays...their was a discussion and it was determined that their was 13 seconds left after the clock last ran from 42 seconds. USJ ran 3 plays in 29 seconds

Then they threw a fade to Martindale for the win with 12 seconds remaining

  9. I say WEBB by 14.

When DA played DCA, the Bears racked up over 300 yards rushing and 3 rushing TDs. After watching both against DA, I would be surprised if Webb couldn't run the ball on DCA. Webb played a 2 deep zone vs DA and I would be surprised if DCA would be able to throw the deep ball and get the big plays that DCA was able to get vs DA.

How can you predict webb by 14 after DA beat them and DCA beat DA, this will be a much closer game. Yea DCA gave up 300 yards but who won the game? it sounds like to me people are having problems excepting the fact DCA took it to DA when it counted and won the game.

dang i was off by 3

  10. should u have beaten dca?

The big plays by DCA killed us. We really did control the game except for the big passing plays. I think they might have had 4 pass plays over 30 yards. Our secondary has jelled more since then. I believe Justin had about 50+ yards called back because of penalties and a TD.

We actually scored in the 4th qtr from the 5 yard line and it was called back because of an illegal procedure call that would have put us ahead for the win. We also missed 3 kicks in that game. I think it was 2 FGs and an extra point...After all of that, we were driving with under a minute left in the game and was in field goal range and threw an interception.

So with over 300 yards rushing , 3 missed kicks by our freshman kicker and a TD called back in the 4th QTR...you can say that we should have won the game. But Excuses are like.... :thumb:

  12. As far as the postgame handshake is concerned i wasnt there i was takin care of buisiness else where, but i am sure webbs coach was frustrated and made a honest mistake, as far as davidson theyve always been cocky and arrogant winning state in a division with no competition. But the big boys are there now and i say this and you can quote me on this "DAVIDSON WILL NOT WIN STATE" and im always gonna take this oppurtunity to call out Murphy Fair by saying he has no idea about high school football and i have no idea why they call him the guru the guys an idiot.

But the big boys are there now and i say this and you can quote me on this "DAVIDSON WILL NOT WIN STATE"

Didn't the Big Boys just get held to under 200 yards total offense and walked away with a loss? How will they score their next game vs Davidson, the KR won't touch the ball.Maybe we should be considered the Big Boys now..enough trash talking though. Good Luck

  13. Now our Coach acts

without any regard for others around him or their safety
    :roflol:

That's a good one. 3 inches of Mud :?: ...Weighing their shoes down :!:

I'm sure the Webb parents are glad he isn't one of theirs.

If he was...You would might have won 3 out of the last 4 State Championships

Ok. See you guys in the playoffs

  14. Wow...What a classy post :roflol:

After the kids shook hands, the team went to the side of the midfield and started celebrating. It was a big game and by them being defending state champs...they were given little respect or given little chance to win the game. I witnessed no trash talk or heard no words from our players or coaching staff that was classless. We even fed alot of the Webb players Hamburgers and Hotdogs after the game

and I say one more time...Watching the trenches, and the way Webb struggled to get first downs...Take away 3 big plays and Webb might not have even scored...WEBB DOES NOT want to see Davidson anywhere...Just real talk

  15. It was total domination. Davidson ran the ball right down their throats...Nothing fancy at all. Davidson threw the ball 3 times i believe. Webb scored on 3 big plays...a Kick return...a 50+ yard dump pass, and a long pass on a busted coverage. Webb's qb was picked off twice I believe and Davidson probably had the ball triple the amount Webb had. The game was not this close...Paul Wade is a big game coach...If not for 3 big plays in the DCA game...Davidson would be undefeated.

Noone wants to see Davidson in the playoffs.

I was surprised that Webb sat in a 2 deep zone all most the whole game. The safeties were 15-20 yards back at times. #5 for Webb is quick as lightning, but other than his 3 big plays...he was neutralized

  16. I know the popular answer is to say that Davidson is done. Their defense is better than average and they have some young kids that can take carries...plus Justin's brother will be back on the field in 3 weeks...just before the playoffs. Davidson has the ability throw the ball also...but with Justin in the backfield, there was no need to do so

    .

Paul Wade is a big game coach and I don't think any team wants to see them in the playoffs.

Davidson still has one of the best O-Lines in Div II
