  1.

    Coaches,

I know "You never get something for nothing!" Christmas, just came early! According to the TSSAA there are 177 varsity wrestling programs in the state in Division I, Division II, and Women's Division. I have faith in my program and what it is capable of doing for your wrestlers and your team. I am willing to put my faith where my mouth is and I am going to give my program to the first 100 varsity level teams in the state to signup and order the Varsity Ultimate Wrestling Dominance Rater. I have set up 100 coupons for the cost of the program ($35). Simply go to my website: www.wrestlingdominancerater.com to sign-up.

Click on store, click on Varsity Ultimate Dominance Rater, in the coupon box, cut and paste: TN - Varsity Special ,click on checkout, fill in the information at the left, click continue, click pay offline. When I receive your order I will email you the encrypted program to download to your computer. Remember you must use the same email address as your ID and your same password as you used to sign in to my website to open the encrypted program.

All I am asking for is that you use the program and turn in your results each Sunday of the season through the State Duals. I am asking if you like the program, write an evaluation of the program and if it helped you to motivate, encourage, recognize your wrestlers and team.

If enough teams sign-up and make a donation, I plan on giving out 56 - 5x7 plaques; 12 - 8x10 plaques; 4 - 2' x 4' vinyl banners; 1 - 4' x 8' vinyl banner; 5 - leather Championship belts] to the most dominate wrestler in each weight class, in each division, and the most dominant team in each division! The recognition awards will be scaled to the amount of total donations!

I will send out more instructions on how to send your results to me each Sunday and on each Monday of the season I will post on my website, on Coacht, and my Facebook group page "Ultimate Wrestling Dominance Rater - TN. If you have any problems getting into the program after you download it call, text, or email me! Good luck to your team this season I am praying that everyone stays safe and healthy! Looking forward to seeing you at the STATE!?

  2. Guys,

It's me again going from the frying pan into the fire! I am in need of my beloved wrestling families help, I celebrated my 70th birthday on Sunday by accepting the assistant wrestling coaching position at Pearl-Cohn HS, another inner city high school in Nashville without a tradition in wrestling. Coach Bryan Youngsma has done a great job coaching the team by himself the past two years!

Our athletes have all talent in the world, but very little money, Monday was my first day practicing with the guys and girls on the team. Most of them don't have wrestling shoes, they are practicing in their school clothes and in their sock feet!

In 2010 I asked for your help with donating whatever used wrestling gear for Stratford HS, that you had left over at the end of the season. Believe me when I tell you that these guys will be like kids at Christmas to get anything to wear for practice and during matches! Anything that is still useable will be greatly appreciated! You can reach me at 615-400-4589 or wrestlingdominancerater@gmail.com

Let me know what you have and for me make arrangements on the best way for me get your stuff to the Pearl-Cohn wrestlers! I am thanking you in advance because I know the heart of our great wrestling family! Have a great and healthy upcoming season. God bless!

  3. Do you think you could do something like this in Chattanooga? It sounds like it was a great success in Nashville. Good for Nashville for doing something like this. We need more of these type of camps where they are free to the kids. It sounds like Nashville is starting something great.

I believe that it can be done in Chattanooga without a doubt. I will talking to FCA Wrestling TN supporters that I know in Chattanooga and hopefully in a few days we may be able to work our something for the Chattanooga area. I appreciate your interest in FCA Wrestling TN!

  4. Coaches, Wrestlers, Parents, Wrestling Cheerleaders, Wrestling fans,

FCA Wrestling TN is having a clinic this Sunday at Brentwood Academy from 1:00 pm til 4:00 pm.

The clinic is free! We will have an introduction of FCA Wrestling TN before the clinic. We want everyone to know what FCA Wrestling TN is all about first then we will have the clinic! This clinic is for whole family young and old. male and female, parents and fans. This event will be very family friendly! Please go to website and register so we will have enough bleacher and mat space!

I also encourage you to go this website and watch the UTC promo for FCA Wrestling TN:

The following is a email that was sent out:

    Hey guys,

When I say great value...... you can't beat it. Phillip Simpson (6th in US open this past weekend, Pan AM Gold medalist, NCAA runner-up and 3 time All American, etc, etc) and Patrick Simpson (former OTC wrestle and World competitor ) will be taking our kids through an Olympic Training Center (OTC) work-out. Come bring your notebook and video camera to take notes. The camp is free to all. That's right FREE. The only caveat is that, we will ask the High School kids to help coach/mentor MS kids and other club teams in their area one or two nights a month. If you currently have a club team, please bring literature on your club so that you can pass it along to youth wrestlers that may be in your geographic area. If you're a college club team, we would love to have you guy's involved as well.

    Here is the information: www.fcawrestlingtn.com

This camp would normally cost $150.00, but these guy's are coming in to "give back" to their community and hopefully encourage others to do likewise. Let me know how many that you plan to bring as we are running out of mat space and many need to bring in additional mats.

    Thanks,

    FCA Wrestling

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the clinic. You can bring you camera and take pictures and video's if you would like!

  5. Guys may kids at Stratford High School in Nashville are in need of used but useable wrestling equipment. 8. I need a t-shirt guy for a tournament. Any names?

Sportwear Express does a lot of tournament all over the state. The MTWOA reconmends this company highly. Chris Vandergrif retired wrestling coach at Knox. Halls and myself (Doug Newman, Wrestling Coach at Stratford SM) work for this company. I would talk to both companies and to as many Coaches as you can to get recomendation. You can contact the company at 800-931-1880 or 615-378-1066 or me at 615-400-4589 or Chris in Knoxville I don't have the number with me. My email is Doug@sportswearexpress.net and Chris's is Chris@sportswearexpress.net . If you want to email me I can send you the letter of recomendation from the MTWOA. We did three tournaments this weekend. I was at the Harpeth Tournament. So of the big tournaments we are doing is the Father Ryan, McCallie, Knoxville Hall, and over 20 more scheduled this season. We will do our best to me your need and help you make money!

  9. Coaches,

I have 17 grils on my grils team and I am wanting to host a grils tournament. I want to know if there is any intrest from anyone that would like to bring their girls to Stratford for the tournament. Saturday Jan. 12,2013. I will adjust the entry fees to the number of grils that are coming. All I want the entry fees to cover is the cost of the refrees. I will run the tournament to give the girls the most mat time that we legally can. Please contact me if you are interested. If anyone else is having a girls invitational please let me know.

  10. I belive because the teams and coaches in DII are so good and really improve as the season goes along I like them all getting in the playoff. It gives teams a change to lose a tough one like friday night and still be motiviated to improve and still have a shot at winning the state. It really makes for two seasons. Regular season and then the playoff season. I believe that the team that comes through both seasons and wins the Championship game is truely earned it and deserves it!

  11. Potter is a great coach (The best I've seen), his mistake was you can rarely replace a legend like Carlton Flatt and match his success, ask all the coaches that followed Bear Bryant. BA will not be happy with any coach for some time. You have to understand that McCallie has military school roots and its still lingers there which fits his style, BA is more liberal not fitting his coaching style as much.

I dissagree, Ensworth has had the best talent the last few years in state of TN. Few give credit to their great OL. they are fun to watch. They rarely miss blocks and they man up with anyone.

Baylor has had more talent than BA in my opinion. Most of BA's success was prior to Ensworth program which few account for this fact.

Finally, ESPNU is crazy for not carry this game on their HS network. It is a true gem and one of the best in the country.

    Turnovers will decide the game.

McCallie wins 21-20. Don't miss it.

You hit the nail on the head about turnovers and your score was really close 26-28. You did a good job in predicting this game. I can not wait til they meet again in the playoff. McCallie's mistakes is correctable. They correct mistakes next time they win!
  12. Raph is at home and everything is getting the way it used to be! If I remember correctly it was 12 in a row that the Big Blue won with Raph in this series! I pray that the game is played without any injuries to either team and it will be a well officiated game. Which ever team wins they may have to see each other again in the playoffs! I know that this game will help each team to get better for the rest of the season. Good luck to both teams the rest of the regular season. But I am going to have to be cheering for the Big Blue and Blue Mom! She is my kind of Mom!
