I agree dadof2, and we we will root for Meigs if we get put out of playoffs, if both mcminn and central have a home play off game it'll be hard for me to choose which game to go to. Central vs Watertown would be better mcminn vs Campbell county. Or if they both lost central vs dunlap would likely be better than mcminn vs Clinton
It will be nice for Central to have a home game for the 1st round of the playoffs. I think I read this would be the first time for them to host a playoff game since 2014? Coach Moody and his staff have done a good job rebuilding the Central program.

Central stopped Tellico on its first two possessions of the second half. Chargers scored to make it 44-18 and then substituted freely on defense the remainder of the game. Tellico scored all three TD against Central's JV.
I listened until Tellico was surprisingly ahead 18-16 about midway of the 2nd quarter. The coaches obviously got the players' attention at halftime.

I’m pulling for M Central in this one because it benefits us lol because Tyner is playing pretty good and M Central let Tellico score 38 makes me a little nervous.
So, Meigs fans are pulling for Central to win, and Central fans by supporting their team will be wanting Meigs to win the Region?!?!?? Shakespeare had it right when he penned adversity making strange bedfellows.
Tellico hadn't scored 38 points combined in their last 4 games, but they were very motivated playing McMinn Central. Coaches always warn their players that they can't overlook any opponent. The Meigs players learned that when they played Polk Co.- 1

I hadn’t ether, at the game they said Meigs clenched the 1 seed, for some reason I didn’t think about Tyner only having one loss.
Tyner has improved considerably since the season started and their young, talented players have responded and grown up quick. If Tyner has most of these players back next season they'll have a good chance to win the Region, along with McMinn Central.... in my opinion.
I don't know enough about the other teams in the Region to comment on how good they'll be next season. -

Both teams coming off victories against fairly weak opponents. Mc beating tellico in a less than convincing fashion 51-38, CC beating Howard quite convincingly 42-0. Chargers will have to play a better ballgame then they did on Thursday if they wanna get past this team down In Harrison. If it's the team who played against kingston, sweetwater, tyner than I think the Chargers win, but if it's the team who played against signal mountain or tellico. It'll be alot closer or Chattanooga might upset MC. Final score prediction is
Mcminn central 32
Chattanooga Central 31
McMinn Centra's defense has been porous the last 4 games, giving up an average of 31 points a game. But they've gone 3-1 in those 4 games which shows they have a pretty potent scoring offense. Just average defensive play against Chattanooga Central should suffice since McMinn Central should easily score 30+ points in this matchup.

Probably 7 of those were 5 yard encroachment penalties on 3rd or 4th down where Cleveland had a crazy shift and Bradley handed them a first down. Cleveland had 3-4 offsides penalties on the shift, so I guess Cleveland netted out ok - LOL
Cleveland had 13 penalties for 100 yards, so it was a wash.

Seeing maryville is in 3rd I HIGHLY doubt maryville will meet Bradley again. They’ll meet bearden again prob 2nd round then a bad #### team for rd 3. Bradley mad 300 yards of penalties lastnight and still won. Those refs could not beat them. I’m not worried a single bit about Bradley. Not a single bit…. They were predicted to be state champs before the season even began but TSSAA officials lol there’s a thread dating back to august on that.
LMAO.... Bradley had 12 penalties for 110 yards.

Sometimes as a fan it can be hard to be patient, but you are right, Fitz came in and set the tone and put players in position to be successful and win games. I think Bunch and all the coaches are doing a great job, I think the offense is a little more balanced this year, we have the ability to spread the field and throw to some good receivers that can take it to the house, and a QB that can throw it or kill you with his legs, and two stud RB that run hard and that are always going forward. The defense is very physical. Brainerd has a big O and D line with athletes everywhere but Meigs beat them up for three quarters and they didn’t want anymore. I’m hoping we come out and set the tone just like that with Tyne, if we do it will be about the same if not it will be a four quarter game. Good luck to you guys
Regardless of what happens Thursday, Coach Bunch and his staff has done a remarkable job with the team this season. New coaching staff, new philosophies, 9 straight weeks without a break, yet they're undefeated playing a pretty tough schedule and winning the Region their first season in Class 3.
I bet no one thought Meigs would be undefeated after 9 games (and hopefully 10).- 1

This one could get ugly real quick.
I know the game is at Central, but there's not a prettier setting than a night football game at Tellico! And the last time I was there the food was excellent. -

Brainerd comes in riding a 14-12 win over Howard hoping to knock off the 8-0 tigers. Meigs escapes Polk with a 7-0 win last week, will Brainerd do what Polk almost did or will that wake the Tigers up, any thoughts?
I mentioned last week that Polk always plays Meigs tough. Meigs totally dominated the game stat-wise, but they committed too many ill-timed errors to put the game away. Give credit to Coach Davis and his staff and the Polk County team for fighting hard and making Meigs earn the victory.
The Tigers want to stay undefeated and win Region 3 in their first year competing in 3A football, so I believe they'll beat Brainerd. -

I'd love to see Meigs upset Alcoa honestly, I think Meigs county can beat Giles County as well if they are clicking on all cylinders. Meigs is borderline 3a/2a whereas Giles is pretty close to 4a, where they used to be anyways. If it's in Decatur I think yall stand a chance of beating Giles in a close one, but would probably have to be in low scoring game, if 14-7/10-7 or 7-3
I'd love to see it too, but Meigs isn't going to upset Alcoa. That just isn't going to happen.
It's not a given that either Meigs or Giles will even make it to the 3rd round (?) to play each other.
As you know, if you start looking too far ahead and don't respect your next opponent, that next opponent can hang an L on you. Meigs has a tough assignment this Friday in Benton against non-district opponent, Polk Co. They always seem to play Meigs a good game.

If only we were still in 2A wouldn’t that be nice lol
Yep! Especially when you now have to beat Alcoa to make it to the state title game. In other words, it just isn't going to happen.

The young, talented Rams are growing up and getting better every week, but I think Central will regroup and win at home Friday night.

He deserves the recognition for what he means to the team. Good things happen when he touches a football. I've been told he's as good with a basketball too lol. I haven't seen him play that though.
Ethan definitely deserves the recognition! Teams know he's going to run the ball and stack their defenses to stop him, but he still puts up solid yardage. Been watching him play basketball since Middle School. He's a great player there too - just a great athlete all around. He comes from good stock, his Dad was an all stater in football and I think he still owns at least one state record. (BTW, his Dad should have been named Mr Football). Ethan's Mom played on one of the Lady Tigers State Championship basketball teams in the early 90's.

Here are a few highlights from our game. This is just the Meigs highlights of the game. I figured I'd let Central handle theirs If they wanted to do any. Im going to try later to make a small video of Ethan Meadows our qb. He definitely should be in the running for Mr Football.
Its shaky due to the confined bleachers lol, i detest going to that place only for that reason.
Thanks for watching.
Great job, Yeti. Would love to see Ethan in the running (no pun intended). His older brother Will should have won it with his stats his Senior year, but it's virtually impossible for a young man from a small rural school in east Tennessee to win.

No kidding, I wondered the same thing. That sounds like a statement HR & Legal told him to make
Yeah, those statements ring hollow when he did what he did to the coach.
Principals usually do things like that when they don't have the fortitude to stand up to outside pressure. I could understand if the Principal told the coach after last season that he'd give him one more season to show improvement by whatever metric he chose, but to dismiss him after 7 games is just ridiculous based on the won-loss record alone. -
“Alex is a great guy, and a good coach,” Principal Pantall said Monday.
If the Principal really meant what he said, why wouldn't he allow Alex to finish out the season?- 1

High school for sure. Nothing like seeing players play for community pride. Many of them are undersized or not all that talented and athletic, but they play with heart and give it all they have in them.

FFA will be serving their annual bbq dinner this week prior to the game with Pigeon Forge. Come hungry.... rumor has it that Dadof2 is paying for all Meigs County fans who are on CoachT.

Simple:
Meigs would be 1st in 3 out of the 5 scenarios, or 2nd in 2 of them.
Tyner would be 1st in 2 out of the 5 scenarios, or 3rd in 3 of them.
McMinn Central would be 2nd in 3 of the 5 scenarios, or 3rd in 2 of them.
Bottom line is that Meigs fans are pulling for Central, and Central fans are pulling for Meigs.
